I have a fair amount of tattoos and am an enthusiast, but that's a big "no" from me on eyeball tattoos! I DO kind of like the lighter colored ones like Grace Neutral has - her violet color is very cool, but I couldn't risk it.
@@strawbillieandpeachez Yeah, the full black is really creepy (and I *try not to judge) - and I think would be very isolating having them as *most people would be freaked out by a person with black eyes.

Even something hardcore like bifurcating your tongue wont cause you to lose your most important sense if something goes wrong.
what a super interesting topic!! as hardcore as eyeball tattoos look, i do think there need to a patented procedure so it’s no longer considered a “high risk body modification” hearing that it could potentially feel like glass shards in your eye is already a risk alone, especially if it’s supposed to be a painless procedure

I’m a tattoo/body modification enthusiast but I don’t like eyeball tattoos. Not only is it an incredibly stupid thing to do, I also don’t like how it looks. Why would you want to have dead doll eyes?
Eyeball tattoos are win-win procedures for bodymod enthusiasts. Done well, you get your eyes tattooed. And if it is botched, you have your eye(s) removed, and that is a more advanced body modification 🎉.

Thank you for making this video. It is very informative. I didn't knowhow this procedure was done nor how damaging it can be when gone wrong. I've been interested in body modification since a very young age and find the various mods you can do fascinating.
I have a sister with childhood onset diabetes. When she was in her twenties she actually woke up blind. Sight is to be cherished. To lose it because you want to look different is inconceivable.
Always informative Peaches! Yikes, I couldn’t take the risk…but as you mentioned in the chat earlier, the lighter colors DO look cool. I just do t need to be THAT different from everyone (although I like being unique). 😊
There’s a reason why eyeballs gross me out… When I was 7, I saw cataract surgery on a show called That’s Incredible and nearly power puked all over the living room. I’m seriously dating myself by telling you that story because that show hasn’t been on the air in a long time… Anyway, I was quite old when I got my first tattoo. I was having difficulty figuring out what was me, something I would never regret in years to come. For my 46th birthday, my husband got me a gift certificate because I’d found what I wanted. Use it or lose it, so someone was getting tattooed. I was terrified it was going to hurt, but as everyone told me, if I could handle my ovary rupturing, I could handle a tattoo (internal bleeding hurts MUCH worse). It was a watercolor tattoo and didn’t hurt at all, really. Two years later, for my birthday, I got another tattoo (that I need to get redone because the person doing it didn’t do what I’d asked and did what she wanted). I’d love to get more, but instead I have to spend the money to get the bad one fixed. They’re definitely addictive once you get one. But no matter how addictive they are, you couldn’t pay me big to have someone put a needle to my eyeball for ANY reason. I’m screwed if I get cataracts because they do that while you’re awake. God hello anyone that comes after my eyeball with ANYTHING when I’m awake. Nope… Hit me on the head with a mallet, I don’t care. NO ONE touches my eyeballs, not even me… That’s why I’ve always worn glasses and never went for contacts.
Coming from someone with a scleral injection it is definitely not painless. It feels like a brain freeze and soap in your eye when you get it then like sand in your eye when it heals. I had no complications. 🖤 definitely do your homework on the artist you go with
Shannon was the person who photoshopped his eyes to look like a Fremen and was one of the first three people to get their eyes tattooed! It’s a well-documented history, because Shannon was such an active blogger.
Like 4-5 yrs ago i started at a new tattoo shop down in south florida. Hadn't met the one owner yet, but came in early my second week. Second owner is in, we chat and greet eachother, and then randomly, dude says 'hey uhhh can you help me real fast?'. We go into the second room and a dudes laying on a massage table. New other boss asks me to hold clients eyelids open. He proceeds to inject ink into the sclera or whatever. The ink bubbles in the eye before settling its kinda wild. That was a fun moment.
i honestly really like the look of eyeball tattoos and i would seriously consider getting them in the future if the procedure was way safer. i love body mods but i think that risking your eyesight for aesthetics is really dumb. since the procedure is fairly new, i really hope that safer methods and materials are invented in the future to minimize as much risk as possible.
I do plan on getting my eyes tattooed. But only after I've finished all my other modifications, spent at least 2 years wearing full eye contacts (so make sure I'm confident with that level of change), and found the safest artist possible to perform it. I'm looking at 7-10 years before I start that process. Hopefully by then the procedure has become better understood and safe for anyone participating.
I believe that in this case, specialized contacts could achieve the desired look in a way that would be so much more consistent and saturated. Like I legit don't think that a tattoo makes any sense. I've seen plenty of them, but do they ever look well colored? Do they look well done? No, not really. I really feel like this is an issue of wrong tool for the job, tattoos can be art, they can be eyebrows, they can fill in thinned hair, but contacts exist and make the route of tattooing kind of misguided. idk, it's not like magnetic earrings or fake sleeves, it's just.... not really a logical route considering the alternative i guess.
This is horrifying. Why would you want to tattoo your eyeballs? You can achieve the same look with contact lenses. People need to realize that what makes you unique is your personality and mindset. Your appearance is just a shell. No Gucci, jewelry, extravagant clothing, tattoos, or else will make you any more interesting unless you truly have a lot of stories to tell from the amazing life you've lived 😮
Body Mods have never been about what is safe. Its about answering a call inside imo. That being said, there is no inner call that could make me do this.
To anyone who has them, thanks. I appreciate you marking yourselves so clearly so I can identify who to avoid. And for those of you with regular tattoos, congratulations on being “mainstream” as the host said
I want to get my eyeballs blacked and don't get it twisted, the only reason I haven't is because I lack the money. Otherwise I'd already have done so. I already suffer from extreme light sensitivity. There is a line from a movie I'm going to paraphrase to give you a glimpse into what I deal with. I have great vision, in the day, and even better vision at night. In the failing light I can't focus. I already deal with have an RGB particle effect on the air in the dark, which after a long enough time turns to full in color vision in the dark. I always feel like I have something in my eyes because my eyes are the wrong shape. blindness isn't a concern because that's in my future anyway.
I love tattoos and I really like the look of black tattoo shading on the eyes, but... I'm an artist and I would never get a tattoo on my eyes. I simply cannot afford the slightest chance of losing my vision. No matter how they convince me that it can be safe if the rules are followed - no. No, no and no, never in my life 💀
As a tattooed person I feel like eye dyeing should be illegal. Doctors can’t touch your eyeballs without like six years of medical school, why is it legal for a random guy with a tattoo gun to do it?
Hey! This is the first video of yours I’ve seen. I like the content, but a lot of the editing, jumps between scenes, outfit changes is incredibly distracting. It has no advantages. It’s fully a disadvantaged thing. It’s a bad decision. What you said is right, there’s nothing good that can come of it, any effect that could get could be obtained with colored contacts, and the effect is just to make you look creepy, messed up or evil, let’s be honest here.
As cool as I would find black sclerae. I find being able to still use my eyes a lot cooler. Guess I'd rather stick to colored contacts if anything. There is no shame in taking reversible options imho. There are plenty of good reasons not to do it. Some would say it erodes "the culture". I'd say a culture, or at least the specific sub set, that basically demands people to cripple themselves needs more than a proper erosion.

I don't care if they've done it 1000 successfully...which they never would...you still have the chance of being that one person who has complications and goes blind.
