As a Detroit Tigers fan I honestly cannot help but smile and get fired up over how well JV has pitched this postseason. Easily my favorite Tiger of all time. The guys an absolute stud and I'm rooting for him game in and game out. Detroit's love will always be there for you JV. Go help Houston hopefully win a WS!
As a Royals fan, I agree and hope they can get it done. And, even though he's not an everyday player anymore, I'm rooting for Carlos Beltran to get his first ring with the Astros.
Average Joe want him to come back to the tigers and help us win a ws but our time is done we are in rebuild mode and he Will be to old when we become good again. I really hope he wins won finally with the Astros and gets inducted into the hof as a tiger.
Nobody talks about the strikeout right before Springer makes the great catch in the 7th but that was like a ten or eleven pitch AB that Verlander finally k’ed him on. Dude was filthy all night but that AB was clutch.
Sig Mejdal said it best. Baseball and team building proves who a better team is over 162 games. Any team can beat another on any given day, and even a good team only has about a 60% chance at most on winning a game over a bad team in a game. When you compare closely or evenly matched teams, that chance is closer to 50%, and the World Series or ALCS or ALDS even are essentially just coin toss competitions. Luhnow once said that the goal of the Astros wasn't to win a title in any particular year, but instead to have as many postseason appearances as they could to give them a chance every year. He doesn't want the team to be the 2015 Royals who completely collapsed after their win, he wants them to be the 2012-present Dodgers who have won their division 6 straight years. While they didn't end up with a title, they ended up with 2 decent chances at winning a title in 2017 and 2018, and that's Luhnow's game. Keeping Verlander obviously helps those chances.
I'm a Tigers fan and I'm still mad he went to the Astros tigers suck now but now it's opening day for me soooo........ And atleast I got one of his last pitches
Didn't care much for Verlander before. But this revival with Houston is pretty admirable. It's always pretty nerve-wracking for pitchers because even when they do manage to pitch well, they aren't guaranteed run support.
As someone who spent 8 out of my 10 years playing baseball as a SP/RP/3B I've always appreciated Verlander. But I wonder how good he would've been had the Yankees cheated like the Astros did that year. Probably not as good.

Average Joe I'm feeling the exact same thing especially because I got one of jv last pitches on tigers and know that he one the world series
FORESHADOWING?
2:21 Probably my favorite strikeout of all time.
Game 6 ALCS 2017 is known as "Justin Verlander Game"
If Astros win tonight it will be, "Justin Verlander's ALCS."
I think that should be Game 2
Must have watched a different game than me, all I seen him do his get 2 strikes on people and fold and start throwing like a drunken sailor.
That Todd Frazier strike out at 2:23 😂😂😂
Fooled him badly
Made him look stupid. Even Buck couldn’t help but laugh at that one. 😂😂😂
Frazier's K tho XD
STLTJordan gotta wonder how he didnt hit it out of the park with THAT swing...
That was embarrassing
I was at this game!!!
It's like the song said "nothing could break him down "
In case you were wondering what happened to a Todd Frazier, they call that at a “Fatality” in Mortal Kombat
what a beauty 2:21
At 2:23 Todd Frazier looked so stupid
That changeup at 0:55 was just out of this planet
This pitch was Nasty. My Favorite one this game 2:21 The pitch looked like it was going to go over his head, fooled him.
It looked like a high level sinker considering the velocity of the circle change
2:22 I don't know if I've ever seen a hitter look so bad, and I've seen Carlos Gomez bat. I can't even blame Buck for laughing at that one.

Dear Detroit Tigers,
Thank you for letting us have Verlander
Sincerely,
The people of Houston
us Tiger fans sure miss him. but we're just glad he finally got the ring he deserved
F u
I was there and it was awesome
This guy!!
Your welcome for giving you guys Verlander cherring for you to win the World Series do it for verlander he deserves it
I love the Yankees, but Verlander man... gotta respect that pitching
If Houston gives JV decent support (and, I think they will) he will easily win 20 games this year for them
David Norris well..let me tell you something...
Verlander. Best pitcher of the generation. Period.
No Santana or Kershaw
@@clickbaitjr3390 Kershaw chokes, so nope
@@MSR-ok9xl well Kershaw has stats so
So obviously this year wasn’t our year but if JV stays with us who thinks we’ll win again in the near future?
Javier Salazar I mean there’s always a chance with the team we have.
2-year extension!!!

That frazier swing... Gotta wonder how he didnt hit it out of the park...
Because the pitcher was Justin Verlander
@@ayansayan8229 I guess in hindsight, it would’ve been nice to know which pitch was coming...
@@DoBap_ still wouldn’t have been able to hit it
@@checkadime8779 it would also be nice for Verlander’s hands to be clean.
JV I'm rooting for you as a tigers fan sucks we couldn't get one when you was on Detroit but hopefully you can do it with the Astros you deserve it
Verlander came to save Astros thanks to Verlander they are where they're now
So apparently one of the best offenses in baseball doesn't exist?
As someone who spent 8 out of my 10 years playing baseball as a SP/RP/3B I've always appreciated Verlander. But I wonder how good he would've been had the Yankees cheated like the Astros did that year. Probably not as good.
I mean you still have to hit the ball and the Yankees just couldn’t get anything going away from Yankee Stadium, I don’t think the result changes.
The Yankees knew what was coming against McCullers and still got dominated, so I doubt it would’ve made a difference
We laid down like dogs for the pathetic Astros
Lol why does Joe Buck sound so uninterested in the game?
Turbo9987 because its Joe Buck, aka the worst commentator of all time
Good god what the hell do you expect from the man. He's calling the game from a neutral point of view, he can't scream on every friggin play
He also has to get all the facts right. He can't let emotion get in his way of calling what happens in front of him
He didn’t have any fear and that’s for a reason him and the Astros knew what were coming he had no reason to fear he cheated.
