    As a Detroit Tigers fan I honestly cannot help but smile and get fired up over how well JV has pitched this postseason. Easily my favorite Tiger of all time. The guys an absolute stud and I'm rooting for him game in and game out. Detroit's love will always be there for you JV. Go help Houston hopefully win a WS!

      As a Royals fan, I agree and hope they can get it done. And, even though he's not an everyday player anymore, I'm rooting for Carlos Beltran to get his first ring with the Astros.

      Average Joe want him to come back to the tigers and help us win a ws but our time is done we are in rebuild mode and he Will be to old when we become good again. I really hope he wins won finally with the Astros and gets inducted into the hof as a tiger.

    Nobody talks about the strikeout right before Springer makes the great catch in the 7th but that was like a ten or eleven pitch AB that Verlander finally k’ed him on. Dude was filthy all night but that AB was clutch.

    • @Korijenkins1414
      @Korijenkins1414 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sig Mejdal said it best. Baseball and team building proves who a better team is over 162 games. Any team can beat another on any given day, and even a good team only has about a 60% chance at most on winning a game over a bad team in a game.
      When you compare closely or evenly matched teams, that chance is closer to 50%, and the World Series or ALCS or ALDS even are essentially just coin toss competitions.
      Luhnow once said that the goal of the Astros wasn't to win a title in any particular year, but instead to have as many postseason appearances as they could to give them a chance every year. He doesn't want the team to be the 2015 Royals who completely collapsed after their win, he wants them to be the 2012-present Dodgers who have won their division 6 straight years. While they didn't end up with a title, they ended up with 2 decent chances at winning a title in 2017 and 2018, and that's Luhnow's game.
      Keeping Verlander obviously helps those chances.

    Didn't care much for Verlander before. But this revival with Houston is pretty admirable.
    It's always pretty nerve-wracking for pitchers because even when they do manage to pitch well, they aren't guaranteed run support.
