    I just finished this co angler series. Do u have advice for small boat anglers on small lakes or big farm ponds? I take my daughter and inexperienced anglers every once in awhile, and I want to tell them what they should do-compared to what I do.

    Another question I didn’t hear you mention if you don’t mind. I keep a plug knocker on my front deck at all times fishing here on Toledo Bend. If your co-angler hangs his 6xd for example, do you help him get it or must he just break off and keep going? In other words how to you handle hang ups? Do you or the other pros in general have a hang up retrieval policy?

    • @BradleyHallmanFishing
      @BradleyHallmanFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question and will vary with the angler. I’m going back yes with reason. If it becomes a common habit I will stop. You gotta know what to feel for and not continuously hang every third cast. If that’s the case you don’t need to be cranking trees. Pick something else. But yes absolutely with a guy that is feathering a crank and gets hung….. it’s going to happen and I understand

    I always gave my boater gas money up front. It shouldn’t matter how good your day was to decide to pay gas money or not. Always thank them for their time and letting you share their boat. Bring extra snacks. If you are gonna dip,chew or smoke ask if it’s ok before you do it. Don’t bring colored dye. Stay organized. Ask about whether they want you to net the fish or not. Be a step ahead of the angler when it’s time to leave. Have fun and learn, but be respectful.

    • @mr.skeptical3071
      @mr.skeptical3071 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, except if they don't hardly go anywhere, and didn't even pre fish, then the money should be minimal. Plus you have to think about how much money YOU spent in gas for the entire trip. But if they did prefish and make a long run or moved alot,, then yes pay them.

    • @jasonmitchell8211
      @jasonmitchell8211 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mr.skeptical3071 Doesn’t matter. At some point they put in the time to figure out those spots. Whether it be in pre practice or years before. It makes the day smoother and breaks the tension before you even start.

    Last year I started fishing Michigan BFLS as a co and in my HUMBLE opinion I have been a great co. When you get paired ask for a general run down of what the plan is and offer to bring ice/G juice. Pack light, bring your own scale/tags, pliers, fizz kit and stay organized. Bring a good positive attitude and be respectful. You should be able to pick up on social cues on when to ask questions or strike up a convo. Don’t be a back seat boater, you are along for the ride to learn. And one tip i have is to rock a Fanny pack to keep plastics, hooks, weights, pliers. They are super stylish and it will keep you from digging through your bag for stuff. Plus it’s scientifically proven that you get more bites when you have a Fanny pack on.

    • @shiggityswa
      @shiggityswa 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, I personally feel $80 should be the minimum and most of the time I offer to get drinks or whatever i can to help out. And get to the ramp before your boater, especially if you are backing them in.

    • @BradleyHallmanFishing
      @BradleyHallmanFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว
