  • This has got to be the best A-10C mission out there, right?
Music is Ital Tek - Jenova
    Mission link and instructions below
Wrycu is the trusty flight lead who fwiw called the landing technique easy, not the mission
I haven't played this mission for years and I was delighted to see it works nicely in DCS 2.5. If you're interested check the link but if you get the cyan sky bug then open it in the editor first, make a note of the weather settings, load default weather then re-enter the noted settings.

Its cool seeing such an OG mission like Vetka in 2.5, really shows how far the sim has come. I've been playing since LOMAC.

Great work on synchronising music with visuals. Gun run that starts in 2:20 is a great example but there are more gems like this in this video.

Thanks for noticing. Finding ways to get the track and gameplay to compliment each other is what I like best about using music in editing. There are a few other occasions in there that I'm pleased with too.

It's the way you use music. They fit very well and are timed to specific events. Like on your viggen video their is a climax in the background music when you evade that missile. Or here with the gun run. You build up tension very well with the rising tempo and volume here as well. It is these things that separate you from the rest of the " DCS music video makers." Their music is often well overused and overpowers the aircraft and are just flat in volume. They lack emphasis and typically just create a tone of " planes r cool" while you actually have a narrative start and finish and the tone is dynamic leaving no dull parts. The action/call to the viewers attention is always present. Also, are you doing any form of color correction? Or are you just running the game really smoothly at high settings? There is a distinct clarity and a more realistic toning down of vibrant color. Keep it up this great work! If I could suggest anything is a greater distinction given to your comms between you and your wingmen. Perhaps you just wanted it to fade into the background and not be center stage, but maybe some radio effects/breathing effects could provide more immersion as well as not making it blend too much into the music that you forget the comms are there.

Thanks a lot. You can never please everyone with something as subjective as music choice but I do choose carefully

Francois and Jive in my opinion while I like the music it completely ruined this video. In my opinion it had no place here. Like you say you can't please everyone and it's yours to do with as you please I'm just expressing my thoughts. I would have subscribed but for the music. Oh well.

terry boyer oh really ? everyone has a different taste ^^ i thought the music didn't disturb the video since it was a very straightforward mission and it was easy to follow without the voice calls. I agree that on missions where it's difficult to understand what's going on a commentary can be much better

I appreciate the constructive feedback. I don't edit every video to music but I do enjoy doing it where I feel it compliments the gameplay.
Objectively it doesn't make much sense for a number of reasons; I have to pay for the tracks and I can't monetize the video. It makes it a more time consuming edit and some people won't like the music (although I do try not to go to extremes with it).
With all that said though I still really enjoy editing to music where I think the gameplay fits a track that I like. It adds a nice challenge to get it done right.

Absolutely incredible. It's hard to find good missions that still work in 2.5, thanks for sharing this! Also, do you plan on making a "Why I love the F-18" assuming you love it of course.

I'm not saying either way for certain but those vids take a lot of time and effort. I was happy to do them for the MiG-21 and Viggen out of appreciation for being given the modules. I'm tempted to do an 'Alternative Flying Techniques' for the Hornet though.

What's the loading-circle-like-thing in the a-10's gunsight? It looks like it would show the stability or accuracy?

afaik it shows distance to surface with max and min distance in which you can use chosen weaponry.

    • @JiveDilletante
      @JiveDilletante  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yeah that's right. It calculates slant range and unwinds to show closure rate and max/mins for weapon releases
