ABOUT…
I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?

Fun fact, that trio singing with jorge is called "trio calabera" and they sing with him in ALL of his movies. They got popularized from this and appear in the disney movie "the three caballeros"

Hello Rebeca, FYI Jorge Negrete at his early age, he always knew his pasion for the opera, and start actually went to opera schools in Mexico.
His parents support his passion for this gender, but one day his father told him that if he really wants to sing for living, he had to change to ranchero style.
He was not quite convenced that it was that what he really want, but after all, he start singing ranchero which make him an icon in Mexican music.

He was an opera singer before he made his brake through with traditional Mexican music, that is why he's so controlled and has such a strong voice.

I just found your channel and love your reactions. I grew up watching all Jorge Negrete movies and all the greats of the times like Pedro Infante, Pepe Aguilar, Vicente Fernandez, Antonio Aguilar, and so many more...and those are just the men! Equally as many ladies. Great memories.

Jorge Negrete was trained in opera and went to the U.S. where he made a number of opera recordings under the name Moreno. He was very talented and intelligent, was poly lingual learning 4 or 5 languages as a child and teen.

Jorge Negrete was a classically trained tenor. That same teacher that trained him also trained Jose Sosa Esquivel who was the main tenor of Mexico City’s opera(1950’s) and father of the great Jose Jose.
