That band is incredible. The whole scene with the well-dressed audience and the young man crushing the song with flowers flying through the air is almost too much. I wish there was a higher quality document of that competition (wouldn't have the same charm, though). Great commentary. I didn't know there were channels like yours.
The crazy thing is that he sang by ear. Maybe some monitors but thats it. Music was live and the performance was amazing. I too wish there was a cleaner version but like I said before..... the music was live and I think everything was being picked up by a few mics. Nonetheless the sound is great. Imagine if each instrument had its own mic and everything was equalized ?
This is very nice of you, I am sure there's a lot of latino fans that appreciate this. For a lot of us, growing up, singers like José José, Juan Gabriel or Rocío Durcal, are like soundtrack for our childhood, it's the music our moms and aunts would listen to (I remember my mom playing her records on the old turntable), so other than recognizing the masterful performance (even though this probably ain't the kind of music we would listen by ourselves), there's also a big nostalgic feeling to it, like, childhood and early memories sounds. On a personal note, and being from where I am, it also kinda reminds me of a time and place that doesn't exists anymore, it's almost like traveling in time.
“(...) it also kinda reminds me of a time and place that doesn’t exist anymore, it’s almost like traveling in time” what a beautiful thing to say! That’s exactly what this music means to me.
@Rebecca: at minute 5:15 you ask: "Who is that? She is so beautiful" The answer is: Angelica María, a Mexican actress and singer, also known as La Novia de México (Mexico's Sweetheart ) she is beautiful, but, back in the day she was gorgeous, you can see how she was mesmerized by Jose's extraordinary performance.
I cannot listen to this song without becoming a basket case 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 El Principe de la Cancion R.I.P. Jose Jose The lyrics of this song are just so beautifully painful

Hi Rebecca, this is a song that the author wrote expressing his feelings and sadness (Triste) about his mother's passing. Interpreted by the master Jose Jose, who immortalized the song with his over the top and hi-power performance.
A R I A that’s not true, Sinatra actually loved Jose Jose, and wanted to do a duet with him. They ended not doing it because there record labels couldn’t agree on something. So Sinatra went to see one of his shows in in Tijuana and met him there.
There’s something more about him, not only his wonderful voice and interpretation, he was really charismatic and humble, and you could feel every word he was singing. People loved him and I’m really sad with his passing.
Saludos.
This english reactions are good but all tecnical, they cant feel the meanning of the way he says those words..... so they really just react to the 50% of the song but not any part of the interpretation, the feeling. Imagine that
Jose Jose’s songs bring back so many childhood memories with my parents. He is a classic in my home, along with Juan Gabriel, Rocio Dúrcal, and Chente.
Truth! I Totally relate!!! My parents have just about all his albums in all sorts of media - vinyl, cassettes, CD, etc. I grew up with his music! We lost such a gifted singer! ♡♡♡
What a beautiful review. My parents used to play his records all the time. Now that I'm older, I find myself listening to the music I grew up listening to. Very nostalgic.
It makes me happy to see you react to josé josé. My mom and all my family members listened to him. I remember how impactful his voice was to me as a kid hearing him. A legend to many and he will be missed dearly.
In México a good party always and mean ALWAYS ends with the José José songs. I have to say this I like your reactions but you have a six sense to stop it at the worst time hahaha! I love you.
With all due respect, Preciosa, but Francisco is right! I love that you make these observations, but in this special case, I was waiting to see your reaction in the peak moments and, interestingly, you managed to stop the video just before those moments, so I stayed like "the machineries" intricate (stuck), like "what was happened here?" ... hahaha. Which, later, I found it very funny. I told myself; "Wow, but what aiming does this beauty have!" ... hahaha. For everything else, Thanks for your reaction!
Fun Fact : He didn’t win this contest (the contest was called “OTI”) but no one remembers the winner because Jose Jose’s performance surpassed all the other ones. People obviously knew the contest was rigged. . . R.I.P a true Mexican Legend !

The song is a love/sad song it’s about the loss you feel after a loved one passes away el Triste pretty much means “one who is sad” when he holds that long note in the middle it represents the crying of someone who’s lost someone close to them in this case a mother, since the composer had recently lost his mother. So in the buildup he sings “they say that I’m always sad, that I’m always thinking of you, but they don’t know that thinking of your loved has helped me live!” 5:35 (read that line then click on my time stamp)
"Handsome...guapo" "*chuckles* He's talented, isn't he?" lmao, I love you! Loved your commentary, but at the same time, it made me SO freaking emotional...😭 Its hard to believe hes gone. He lost his voice at a very early age of his career so we lost that amazing voice ling time ago but we still remember him as El Principe de la Cacion !!!! The prince of the song
A testament to the passion that he put into his music. Like he was actually feeling something that burned within him, something that eats him alive. To the point where someone that speaks a completely different language can also understand and really admire the sentiment in his music.

@@boban8733 Not to disparage the great talent of Tose Proeski (RIP) but sorry to say, he never would achieve this, as the current singer said once: "Not even me could perform again that song like it was in that day", It's not a matter of technics only (that it's obvious he masterfully handeld all the time), I believe is that feeling, that warm in his vocals and all-rounded atmosphere created, that at least for we as latinoamericans or people that also understand the meaning of the lyrics that this song never woud'be singed the same again, not at this day.
And for those who can't believe he won't won that day, it's true, he ended 3r. you mean that José José loved Sinatra? That Sinatra was an inspiration for him and wanted to make a duet, right?
A R I A that’s not true, Sinatra actually loved Jose Jose, and wanted to do a duet with him. They ended not doing it because there record labels couldn’t agree on something. So Sinatra went to see one of his shows in in Tijuana and met him there.
He was the Frank Sinatra of Mexico
José José just recently passed
Sinatra was fan of Javier Solís too
Im impressed she understood the whole song just by hearing how José José sings. You are a very talented and well-studied singer
There’s something more about him, not only his wonderful voice and interpretation, he was really charismatic and humble, and you could feel every word he was singing. People loved him and I’m really sad with his passing.

I can’t believe you reacted to José José! This is his most iconic song lol. The last years of his life were very complicated. Great a video as always!
Btw, do you think you Can react to SoHyang’s “everyone”? If you don’t mind ^^
the women in the crowd focus by the camera is "Angelica Maria" and the amazed gentleman is "Marco Antonio Muñiz both are mexican singers. Cheers!
I couldn't remember his name!!! My head was itching trying to remember!!!
Saludos!
No matter how many times I listen to this song, I get goosebumps, I enjoy every note he sings. It’s absolute perfection!
Lyrics:
The Sad Man
How sad it was to say goodbye,
When we adored each other so much,
Even the swallow migrated
Foreshadowing the end.
How sad everything is without you,
The seas of the beaches are gone,
All colours turn dyed in gray,
Everything is loneliness now.
I don't know If I'll see you once again,
I don't know what will become of my life without the blue star of your being no longer sheding its light on me.
Today I want to taste out my pain,
I'm not asking for compassion nor mercy
This love story was written to be eternal
"What a sad man", everyone says I am,
That I'm always talking about you
They don't know that by thinking of your love, of your love,
I've been able to help myself carry on living.
Today I want to taste out my pain,
I'm not asking for compassion nor mercy
This love story was written to be eternal
"What a sad man", everyone says I am,
That I'm always talking about you
They don't know that by thinking of your love, of your love,
I've been able to help myself carry on living
Jevo MT Great 👍🏻This is so helpful. How nice will be if someone adapts this lyrics to music.😇
Wouu so beautifull song, love it!!
HAHAHA Nice try!
Thanks so much from Mexico
Awesome song, I wonder if it sounds better translated to another language, latin romance languge. Maybe sounds/reads better in french
He lost his voice at a very early age of his career so we lost that amazing voice ling time ago but we still remember him as El Principe de la Cacion !!!! The prince of the song
At 5:13 where you said who was that, she's pretty"" is Angelica Maria a Mexican singer/actress =)
A testament to the passion that he put into his music. Like he was actually feeling something that burned within him, something that eats him alive. To the point where someone that speaks a completely different language can also understand and really admire the sentiment in his music.
Mío no tuyo 😡
Que esperabas si canta muy bien 😒..
One of the greatest singers in Mexico's history without a doubt. May he rest in peace.
I cried when this prince died. Prince of the song. He was such a humble, great wonderful man. I met him as a kid back in the 1990s in los angeles, ca at a television station, and he gave me the time of day like I was some special young guy. He had a nice way of treating the people he met and saw. I miss this great voice. Listen to that great voice, great in any language. Mexico cried the day he died.
wow! que orgullo. dope analysis / reaction. love it here already
In Mexico you can hear literally in every single party you go his songs it is really amazing ❤️
@@DiegoGonzalez-ic3si Tal vez sea algo generacional?
As a Mexican ever since I was a boy I've heard his songs everywhere and I've known of his game, but honestly I didn't knew his skills were that good. (I'm uneducated in music) his story is such a tragedy then.
He wasn't called "the prince of the song" for nothing.
22 years old and won third place. This song gave him international recognition.
The worst part is that he didn't win that contest ... He was given an incredible third place ...
I was today years old when I learned he won third place 🥉 but the people don’t lie! That showcase doesn’t lie!
Ya, but who the hell remembers those 2 other contenders?
Actually is the best part, he didn't won, but I bet you don't know who got second or first place that day.
@@conrick23 First place = Brasil second place = Venezuela
Need the names?
He won much more!!
