- In this one I tell you why I won't be, and why you shouldn't Pre-Order a Fanatec ClubSport DD or ClubSport DD +.

Massive delays in fanatec, people waiting months for orders the situation is a disaster. No customer support, company is ignoring orders
The issue seems to be much bigger in the EU. I for my part are never going to buy one of their products. How they screw over their customers and treat them after they took their money is just despicable.
My thoughts exactly. Been there, done that, eventually got a properly working unit, but boy did it suck dealing with their customer support!
Was there any revisions of the CSL DD/DD Pro after they released ?
At least the first DD1/DD2 batch was for the bin afaik and Fanatec has a history of needing a revision, so good advice. I even had an RMA with my SC2 Pro which allegedly was perfect at the time and got the better electronics with the single-powersupply. I was luckily still owning my old Accuforce to have a replacement for the almost 30 days it took to get it back.
Just came back here to point out you were right once again. After many delays, Fanatec started shipping the DD+ bases but, "surprise surprise!" they also announced a new bundle with a GT steering wheel and people are crying about it. I lost all my hope that people will learn to make wiser purchases. Hope people don't have many RMA's with their bases.
Excellent advice. I really, really wanted a CSL DD 8Nm when they launched, but there were so issues with the first batch, so I waited for a year before making my purchase, got a great unit, no issues and boy was it worth the wait. Much as I like the product and the CSL Elite V2's, but if you get a duff unit Fanatec's customer service sucks (I'm in the UK, probably be worse Stateside) Nobody wants to wait months to get their shiny new kit up and running. Anticipation is a whole lot better than frustration.
Totally agree, golden age for these kind of products start on the 3rd year of their life-cycle mostly.
Electric motors aren’t much a mystery anymore. We’re not waiting 3 years for this to reach QA maturity.

I got my CS DD yesterday, works fine with no issues at all. It's not a gamechanger just much stronger, responsive and a bit smoother. It will change my CSL DD 8Nm which I also got on first wave preorder and it had 0 issues through 2 years of hard use.

A week with the base won’t tell all. As someone who also pre ordered and is waiting. It takes time for issues and breaks to show up. He’s not wrong. But don’t forget not EVERY base is bad. When you sell a million units and 100 are bad. Vs a company who sells 100 units and 1 is bad. You gatta remember fanatec dominates the market holdings.

Yup, when I bought my load cell pedal they took my money right away, but it took almost 3 months to arrive. I constantly sent emails and got no answer. When I would check the status of my order it said my order was waiting for pick up from carrier. It sat in the warehouse for weeks waiting for FedEx/UPS to pick it up. After finally making threats to report them to the Better Business Bureau and their corporate office miraculously my order shipped. While I do like the pedals I ordered, I won’t be ordering from them again. They lost a customer. Too much of a nightmare. I mean really? You can’t get a carrier to pick up an order? I’m sure mine wasn’t the only one there. Shoot, they could have gotten some intern or an extra body to drop off orders. Totally unsatisfactory. The thing that bothered me the most was the didn’t even do anything to make it right or soften the blow. No discount code, coupon, or even an apology email. In fact, when I got my pedal part of my warranty was already gone. I had about 9 months of warranty left by the time it was delivered. How the hell does that work? Very bad experience. Sorry about the long rant, just wanted to put my experience out there. I hear Moza is pretty good though.
Unfortunately I hear this story far too much. The trick that I've found that has worked for me is I only order from them during down times. So not during holiday sales and definitely not around new product releases. For the most part it's worked but either way their customer service is the worst in the industry imo.
Thanks for the tip. I will stay with my Clubsport CSW 2.5 and wait for this product to get good reviews from its user before spending my money on it ;)
My true history.....My first batch csl dd had no problems or issues. I also had no problems with their CS after using them for 2 reasons unrelated to the csl dd in about 2 years.
That's awesome to hear! I truly hope we get that same situation for these new Clubsport DD's! One way or the other at some point I'm certain they will be hard to beat!
Upgrading from my G923 to my first DD wheel I bought the DD+ and a full setup from Fanatec from the Black Friday Deals really hoping I didn't fuck up. But I'm pretty confident I didn't, I feel as if the DD and the DD+ are the final product in the Clubsport steering base lineup and they have (hopefully) learned from all of their issues over the years with the CSL DD, GT DD Pro and have made a product that resolves all of these issues and even makes many improvements but can definitely foresee new issues arise as with any new product launch. I mainly wanted for the FullForce technology to kind of future proof myself for a few years, I enjoyed trueforce on my G923. Boosted Media got a very early edition of the DD and DD+ and is quite impressed with them as well. I imagine most issues will be able to be resolved through driver/firmware updates.
Well I can say for absolute sure that its going to be a huge step up from your logitech! Time will tell if there will be issues initially but at some point sooner or later they will be probably the best out there!

I understand there will always be going pains with the release of a new product, especially one that is high tech. I'm ok Fanatec and games to take their time to iron everything out on the software side of things. I just hope that the initial product (Clubsport DD+) will have great hardware and no physical weak points that requires a revision. DD+ will be my first wheel base and hopefully things go smoothly (once it gets delivered anyways, lol).
I pre-ordered as i was in the market for it anyway, I had a pre-ordered CSL DD that worked fine (maybe by luck). But i will be keeping hold of my CSL DD for a while yet, im not dealing with RMA for months on end with no wheel base.

Iv a gt dd pro. I’m holding out for this reason. Also for full force to be implemented into gt7. Can’t wait tho.
And the engineer said at the sim expo the internals are shared with csl dd so I’m not sure on that part.
Probably a smart move. But I'm super excited about it myself. So if you get one and it's all good you let me know lol. I'll go order one as soon as I hear they are all good!

I don't doubt that people haven't had good customer service experiences. But I've dealt with them 4 times and each time they were reasonably responsive (with m within 1-2 days) and immediately took care of the issues.

About the Fanatec customer service.
I think this depends alot on the region you live in, which doesn't make it better though.
From some of the reviews (might have been review testing only) i had seen them use a version of full force that used the sound like a butt kicker so that it would still work sith games without it.
Full force relies on game integration from each individual game developer. The developer has to utilize an api file from Fanatec and integrate it themselves in their software. What you're seeing in the demos/reviews right now is a "dummy python script" demo that is in fact working just like logitechs TruForce which is why it is similar to a butt kicker in these reviews. Fanatec says it is a "representative" of the real thing but not actually how Full Force will work. In reality, once the actual api file are truly integrated into the sim it will work in it's designed fashion. At this time no games have it available.
Preordered the clubsport dd on 11-1-23 and just got an email today it has fully shipped from there warehouse

Sold of everything else fanatec now that I am back on pc and not console use. Waiting on my simagic h pattern shifter and new simagic hydraulic handbrake that are Xmas present.

Trying to start over with my sim rig. lol life went on with a new place and baby so I had to sell my stuff and go to console use for a while. Till I could get everything back on track so I’m definitely having way more fun on pc than console

Placed my order for the DD+ on the 25th of October. Cancelled that same order 6 weeks later on the 16th of December. Why? Fanatec's logistics and customer service are a Black Box. The forums are exploding with complaints. Communication from Fanatec is non existing. Like delivery time on the DD+ changes almost daily.
I know I truly hate it's the case because the products are generally good, but man their customer service is just plain bad. And it gets amplified everytime they release a new product which is why I made a video trying to let people know to be cautious with Fanatec in the current situation.
Have a DD Plus pre-order. What happened after you did cancel your order? And how long before you got your money back?
My personal experience cancelling orders with them has been fine. As long as the item hasn't shipped yet you will probably get the funds back in a reasonable time. All that seems to be automated. But once it's shipped and humans have to be involved that's a different story. @@giogamer4825

I've not had a single issue with Fanatec and have gotten everything early. Nonexistent customer service?! They've been great with me. I received broken adapter. I needed 2 but only ordered one, they sent me 2 adapters with the other one being free.
Context-I've only had my Fanatec products for a year but man, they've been absolutely great.
Sitting on a Clubsport DD+ pre order just fine. If I don't get that wheel for 3 months, fine so be it. I'd rather wait for a quality product and receive mine in the order of the pre orders. If 100 get sent out and I was 101- oh well... that's how pre orders work.

took my talents to simucube; being stuck in fanatec ecosystem costing me quite a bit to use custom wheels just wasnt good for me. $250 total for 1 universal podium is quite ridiculous. plus my dd1 had the dreaded EMI issue.
Certainly can't go wrong with Simucube! Probably a wise choice for sure!
what do you mean by electromagnetic interference? I'm just really worried that the dd base will damage equipment, such as a TV and audio system, since it has a powerful magnet and is located next to this equipment, could this happen?
@@user-fx7on4qn8t No it's actually the opposite effect. The electronics of other items nearby will cause signal interference with the wheelbase's output so another words the force feedback will drop in and out if there's too much EMI. I had the issue bad with my Accuforce V2. But you shouldn't have to worry about it causing the issues you're describing.

it didnt damage anything besides itself. a few races i had did before my league race, i would lose ffb, steering wheel functions (paddles) and pedals. basically the items connected to my dd1 which i had for about 3 years.
Fanatec support advice me to ground the wheelbase to an earth ground. i did as they suggested and the issue didnt go away. so instead of having the headache i just went with a different company entirely. i like using custom wheels and fanatec ecosystem just makes that into an expensive purchase. having to buy a universal podium hub each time.

Fanatecs poor customer service is the only reason i haven't bought any of there products so far tbh .
Had loads of problems a few years ago with a csl elite wheel base and it took months to get a replacement from them , shame because when it worked it was excellent.
Currently have a simplicity 20nm dd wheelbase and its been absolutely solid for 3 years , best 600 qiud ive ever spent.

I grew frustrated waiting for Logitech to improve so when these Clubsports came out, I jumped on the preorders.
So I guess I should just buy another brand then if I'm buying a whole new set up?
Man that's a tough one because generally speaking once they get their products dialed in they tend to be some of the best in the business. Really depends on how big of a hurry you are in. What I would suggest is see if you can find a used CSL DD or GT DD Pro if you want to play now and then grab the Clubsport once it's been out a while and more proven. If the Clubsport DD's do what they Fanatec claims, they will be far superior over the CSL & GT DD Pro, but there are a lot of CSL DD's & GT DD Pro's popping up for sale because of the Clubsport release. I run a CSL DD 8Nm on my main rig and I love it. Super smooth and detailed. That would be a way to still get into Fanatecs ecosystem without jumping head first into one of their brand new products. I hope that helps!
@@DanDiMaggio I was set on the Moza R12, RS V2, and CRP pedals right up until Fanatec released the QR2 and then announced the CS DD. Sold my T300rs earlier this year(June or July?) because it was selling for more than I payed brand new and I wanted to upgrade to DD and load cell pedals. So I might just go with Moza, they also have a truck sim wheel probably releasing early next year I'm somewhat interested in if it's any good.
Moza makes great stuff too. That truck wheel is so cool! Honestly at this point most of the manufacturers make pretty solid equipment so you would be good with any. Probably just a case of picking the one that has the ecosystem you prefer. Pedals, steering wheels etc. @@zack9692
Personally do not buy Moza. They’re overrated which is why they overheat and are a terrible base people swear are good to compete with fanatec. Their software is crap, their drivers are average at best and again they overheat because the company lied about their true FFB just to sell more units cause it has more NM. Their holding true also drops off like a MF after 30 min of good racing.

Cancelled my order a couple of weeks, glad I did as just got another delay email from them! This company is beyond a joke! Lots of people with the club sport DD have bad coil. Cut my losses and got a Asetek Forte and VRS pedals instead as I primarily use pc not PS5, for anyone on Ps5 I feel sorry for you as not many options other than using 3rd party adaptors! Anyone who just uses PC just use some other company as Fanatec are utterly useless and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they ended up insolvent!
I hope they get it worked out because some of their stuff is top notch. I still am extremely happy with the CSL DD but they really need to get to the bottom of these customer support issues, delays & thoroughly test new gear before they ship it out!
@@DanDiMaggio unfortunately for me my first order they royalty screwed me over... So me and Fanatec are done. Out of principle I will never be giving them any of my money or giving them a recommendation to anyone else either. I can really see them going down the pan now they're not the only show in town.

But if you don't pre order ithe dd+ now It will cost you more money right now its $1000 but soon it will go up to $1200. I personally would go with a simagic alpha or alpha u and there wheels have a much higher build quality for less money on top of being able to any rim you want by just buying a cheap qr off of ebay no proprietary crap.
No prices won’t go up these aren’t preorder special pricing lol. And yes other brand you can buy a cheap qr and put any wheel on but also the wheel won’t have any buttons or anything on it. Just to steer so that kind of isn’t good if you don’t have a button box on your rig. Cheaper isn’t always better plus other companies use wireless which also isn’t 100% always going to work either.

That's what I thought at first too but there isn't any kind of shaker or speaker inside the base. It's got a faster slew rate so it can make a small vibration type frequency. I think what we will feel in the end will be very similar to a shaker but it's providing that information in a different way. I hope it ends up being great honestly. I had high hopes for logitechs true force but it fell short. Hopefully this will be utilized in all games!

but it also plays music on the frequences as bassshaker that was a little bit cringe when they showed proud how you could play music through the base, but maybe i just cant imagine whats possible with that feature in the future@@davidcupra4913

They suck at selling things but the product is solid. They need to start selling through retailers. I won't buy anything direct from them again.

History is FULL of examples of different companies that had a terrible 1st batch of what turned out to be good products. Top of my mind I can remember the first batches of the Xbox 360 that were plagued by infamous red-ring of death. Meanwhile the slim version was one of the most best Microsoft consoles. "Don't pay to be a beta tester" is my motto. Life gets easier when you're not chasing the latest and shiniest thing all the time.
Lol, Fanatec probably won't be sending you one for review anytime soon. You're probably not wrong, anything 1st Gen usually has growing pains.
Yeah it's all good! I don't talk nicely about companies just so they'll send me stuff like some simtubers do 😂. I actually do have a CSL DD that I purchased myself and love. But it was out several years before I grabbed it.

If you already have a decent setup, say a CSL DD or CSL DD PRO, it makes little sense to upgrade right away. There's no special discounts, it's regular price. Not only that but you can't even get QR2 base side mounts for months so it might just sit around unless you spend crazy money on the QR2 Pro mounts.

I’ve been ordering products from Fanatec practically since they opened their doors. I never regretted a single purchase from them. Why? Because I’m a cautious and educated consumer and most of all a realist.
People already have the DD and DD+ and it’s been nothing but positive so far. It is what it’s suppose to be and by your logic and those that would take a similar stance / opinion that they are only going to improve.
No offense but the whole wait and see / don’t be the guinea pig is kind of tired and played out. Waiting for bugs to get ironed out or refinements to hardware or software is enjoyment missed.
All products have pros and cons. ALL PRODUCTS!
The biggest problem with videos like this, no offense, (I’m not attacking you but merely pointing something out), is negativity far out weighs positivity.
When people are content they don’t rush to any venue and say, I love my purchase and here is a detailed explanation as to why. Jeers in a crowd can drown out applause even though more are applauding than booing. It will always be the case. Life is too short to wait and see. You can’t take it with you. Take it from an old F like me

With 8nm you can only use 5nm without clipping. I bought a 12nm base, and still wouldn't tell people all you need is 12.
Look at all of this nonsense reviews. I think it’s a bunch of kids that have a problem waiting. I just got my base, it came early. I was a pre/order and suppose to be shipped on the 14th. I received an email on the 7th saying it was coming early and it did. No problems, it is hands down better then the csl/gt base. You can really feel the difference in the turns. Don’t listen to this guy, i wouldn’t compare this product to the csl product. You only live once, by the time your done waiting to buy one their will be a better one out. No more clipping-
And I purchased a new Clubsport universal hub 3 days after the base and they both arrived on the same day. The complainers are always louder then the people satisfied/ I would recommend getting it- I think it’s strong enough that you won’t need anymore nm.
In my opinion you are right and yes they are like small kids crying for there candy. I placed my order in 26th of November and so far i didnt receive any info on my stuff but i didnt cry like the rest because the total orders are 50 to 60 thousands or maybe more which really really high. for some reason people cant wait / dont have patient
