Brok was one of the only characters to talk to Kratos in a borderline disrespectful way, and lived to tell about it. He knew Kratos was powerful, he’d seen some of the ghost of spartas handiwork with Magni and Modi, and then down the line with Heimdal. Kratos almost seems to respect him for it though, Brok doesn’t mince words and says what he’s feeling, and Kratos seems to respect both that and his skill as a blacksmith. Brok Never meant any of his harsh words in a mean way, and he still helped Kratos as best as he could. Big Grey was even genuinely sad at Broks funeral. I enjoyed their dynamic quite a bit
Kratos was raised to speak laconically and straightforward but moreover he has trust issues. Someone like Brok who never lies and always says things without much tact both impresses Kratos and makes him trust Brok because he has no agenda other than his kind offers to help. Brok was one of the best friends anyone could ever make because he's the one friend who is helpful both in generosity and saying things people need to hear instead of what they want to hear.

Honestly, I’m pretty sure he was the Greatest Blacksmith in all Nine Realms when he was alive. He had the idea to make the spear even before Sindri. During his time alive, the Blacksmith Era was his.
The saddest part is that brok’s death makes kratos take a step back. You can see how kratos’ demeanor changes and he immediately leaves the area. Kratos lost his friend, the funeral scene real adds to that. They had such a subtle relationship in these games yet an incredibly strong one

Why did they have to make this so sad and he does not even have an afterlife. After he dies so he’s gone he’s not just dead he has been erased from existence, and basically he got a fate worse than death.😢😭
Technically it would still be possible for him to be saved, he died without a complete soul, so those 3 pieces of his soul will not have direction to them. They could be anywhere in nature but aren't likely to roam too far from where he died. Atreus would be able to find them and unite them with the piece which resides in the lake of souls, as if only a single piece of a soul is in the lake of souls, it will not be absorbed by the light of Alfheim and will instead remain inside the lake, if Atreus were to gather the 3 lost pieces of Brok's soul and bring them to the lake, the piece of his soul which resides in the lake would be drawn to the other 3 and would unite to form his complete soul, then it would be possible to allow him to rest or return as a spirit. The only way to actually make Brok (and Mimir) a new body would be with something as exotic as Promethean clay.
@@Rambit ya that is a great theory and I hope that is what the DLC does, 1 part Brok and the other get Mimir a full body….and for the love of it tell us who blew the horn lol
Brok had to be my favorite character in the Norse GOW games. Genuinely caught me off guard when he was killed off. Miss our blue Dwarven blacksmith already...
31:25 the following 2 minutes is one of the greatest moments in the GoW franchise in my opinion. The respect between two people and the words unspoken, but known, is some of greatest writing I’ve seen and heard. R.I.P Brok💙
Kratos didn't just lose a friend, he lost his brother all over again. not only that, it perfectly bookends the Norse Duology on two ends 1. GOW 2018 began with Faye's funeral pyre, and the last thing you do before Ragnarok's credits roll is attending Brok's Viking funeral, which involves cremating the body on a boat 2. GOW 2018's main story ended with Freya declaring you as her enemy for killing her son despite you doing it to save her life. Mimir says "the world's a better place with Freya in it". at the end of Ragnarok, Sindri shuts everyone out after Brok's death and just before the funeral, Freya says "the world is a darker place for(Brok) leaving it"
The thing that hurts most about brok's outcome is not only was he the death that affected the whole gang the most, but aside from your fight with Baldr, he's the 1st person you meet & helps upgrade the Leviathan. R.I.P Brok.😔
One of the funniest things about Brok is the words he makes up. “What in the jarnsmida happened to him?” I used to think these were real dwarf or Norwegian words until Sindri tells him to stop making words up lol. Dam I never thought I’d have Brok listed as one of my all time favorite characters but here I am..😢
For some reason i expected Sindri to be the victim probably because i watch too many series with the nicest ones always dies first especially that gow ragnarok was mostly about Atreus and Atreus is closer with Sindri than Brok it might have give a bigger impact
@@robotfox989 nah, having sindri suffer the way he did is definitely way more impactful for atreus than sindri dying. He'll always carry that guilt until they get some closure, if that ever happens
@@Cosm1c_Donut You know after i watch more of GOW 2018 and GOWR content, i say Atreus and Kratos deserves his unforgiveness they always treated Sindri so badly and treated brok better just because he speaks plain, Sindri always tries to be nice to them but they keep treating him harshly and seems keep getting annoyed by him which is hurts honestly
@@robotfox989 no, it had to be Brok, since if Sindri died, Brok would've coped with the death better because of his nature. The main tragedy of Brok's death isn't JUST because he's dead. it's because he died with an incomplete soul. like Mimir said; when a soul missing its direction leaves its corporeal form, it can't find its way to the lake of souls and vanishes completely. Brok's not just dead, he's been denied an after-life, there is nothing TO bring back. Brok is GONE FOREVER. it really makes death meaningful again in a franchise where its main protagonist dies and comes back to life multiple times. not only that, unlike Freya who can reunite with her brother in Fólkvangr when she dies, when Sindri inevitably dies, he can NEVER reunite with Brok in ANY afterlife, not even Helheim, and it's his own fault for meddling with the balance of life and death by pulling 3 quarters of Brok's soul out of the lake in Alfheim to revive him when Brok died the first time rather than let him go and rest in peace.
Out of all the characters I came to respect and love every moment of seeing them even if it’s for a minute. I YEARNEN to see more of Brok after 4 and losing him after so much with him in Ragnarok makes watching these videos heartbreaking and I can’t stop crying. Amazing man with extraordinary vocabulary RIP Brok we did it!
0:18 Nothing more telling of how good a person Brok is than when he starts to leg it the MOMENT the words "Odin is with Atreus!" come out of Kratos' mouth
It broke my heart when I saw him die. I just couldn't digest the fact that he is no more in the game. Also the music "Huldra Brothers " made it very emotional during the Brok's funeral scene.
Is anyone else’s favorite character brok 😂 he’s got no filter talks to whoever how ever he wants too, half the people he talks too can easy snap him in half but he just KEEPS GOING 😭🤞🏼
Man. That scene when he looked at his brother and told him to forgive himself so beautiful and selfless. He truly loved his brother and just wanted his brother to not be such a weirdo and forgive himself just.... Swells the heart a bit What a great game. I'm still finishing up all the extra areas where rocks landed from Valhalla. But I like this game. And if I'm being honest I like Thor's daughter and I liked the weird wolf girl. The weird wolf girl was more of like the prophecy person in these ancient stories that are being retold and reshaped here. And then the whole part with him blessing the spear. Just beautiful. I am going through this looking for a clip for the show on my channel. And I just want the clip of Brock saying, "my sak sweats sweats"
love the wee spats between brok and mimir, just adds to the immersion of the experience in all fairness. loving the fact that despite the perceived crudeness, none ever seem to consider ol' Brok dumb or unintelligent, like they know his own kookiness hides an intellect that rivals Sindri's own. together, the joined smarts could've taken over Asgard if ever they were given the motivation. try fighting an enemy who constantly gives you the slip at every turn, you'd admit defeat within the first month.
Brok and Kratos formed an unlikely yet wholesome friendship. My heart melts whenever Kratos speak to Brok with so much calmness. It's sad on what happened to Brok. He's a true brother.
Who knew that the foul-mouthed dwarf, who was merely a comic-relief side character in the first game, would end up being the emotional gutpunch of the second game?
Just finished his funeral in game. He was probably my all time favorite side character of any game. Right before he dies he gets one last quip in. Man it felt good when Odin died
The thing that stuck me the most was that Brock wasn't fooled by Odin. I believe this was because the part of his soul "direction" was missing. He couldn't be mislead.
Not really, his character is a complete opposite of odin, an antithesis, where odin lies and manipulates all the time, brok is honest and kind, he also speaks plainly as kratos explained. Thus why when the others talk about their plans about ragnarok, brok aint buying tyr's route to asgard bullshit and tyr's nature is just off all the time, like why is a god imprisoned for a long time suddenly complaints about food not tasting good? The Nature of a thing is more important than the form of a thing.
A shit smells the same regardless of how it got shat. Goes well with the later line: The nature of the thing is more important than the form of the thing. RIP You brutally honest blacksmith.
Literally. They pass it off as “Kratos likes Brok because he speaks plainly” and “Atreus & Sindri became good friends” Would’ve loved to see the Huldra bros., Lúnda, Durlin, and Ræb all in a bar together, telling profane stories lol
He was a great and funny character and u could tell he was very dedicated to his work too. This man lived and breathe weaponry of any kind. U thought of it he could make it I bet as even Freya said Dwarven Magic is very strange. What I liked most about his character was his attitude and honesty. He was a stubborn little hot head with an honest tongue and passion for again his weaponry. Also dont forget his VA as he did a fantastic job too!
You forgot the optional part where you can go back to where you fought the first Dreki during "Forging Destiny", Brok will follow you to that place and dares you to stick your hand in the Yggdrasil Rift. th-cam.com/video/BRoYP45HAdg/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=CrispyBenoit
I literally cried when he died gotta say he was such a chad in combat shit talked everyone he fought and broke their spirit and he saved the mask also Thor too 1:32 is my favourite part also that mermaid
Brok was the most real character,he never pretended,he was always genuine. To see him go was and is still heart breaking. I love how he forgave and took no shit from false "tyr" and his passable dirt soup
Guys it’s not Atreus fault or even Kratos that Tyr was actually Odin this whole time and they didn’t even know it. How it was possible for them to smell this well-placed catch ? Maybe Atreus could be less stubborn about bring in the house Tyr(Odin) but damn he is just a kid. The only fact that I am angry about it, is that everyone did what Atreus wanted and he repaid them with going to Asgard. He took from his father stupidity unfortunately. Maybe if they were spending more time with Tyr in the house they could see who he really was…. It’s a big mistake for Sindhi to blame kratos and Atreus because it was his choice to help them. It’s a pity for not blame Odin and blame his friends….he knew for what he was up into. It was a dangerous road….

@@Rambit I hope so brother
Brok had to be my favorite character in the Norse GOW games. Genuinely caught me off guard when he was killed off. Miss our blue Dwarven blacksmith already...
31:25 the following 2 minutes is one of the greatest moments in the GoW franchise in my opinion. The respect between two people and the words unspoken, but known, is some of greatest writing I’ve seen and heard. R.I.P Brok💙
It took the death of Brok for Mimir to understand the riddle 😢
Classic foreshadow in a storytelling.
Rest in peace Brok. His death was so heart wrenching I had to stop playing for a while
I had to walk it off, I couldn’t bear seen Sindri broken and with so much pain
18:30 man, gotta aplaud brok's guts for saying this to kratos right in his face
Sindri wouldn't dream of talking to Kratos like that. Brok has literal Balls of Steel and no fucks given. Dude is a flatout legend.
"customer loyalty program" 😂😂
Brok would've been impressed with Mimir's answer to his infamous riddle if if he's still alive.
23:18 made me laugh out loud so much, kept replaying this part 😂
Kratos didn't just lose a friend, he lost his brother all over again.
not only that, it perfectly bookends the Norse Duology on two ends
1. GOW 2018 began with Faye's funeral pyre, and the last thing you do before Ragnarok's credits roll is attending Brok's Viking funeral, which involves cremating the body on a boat
Mimir finally solving the riddle at the end was a nice touch.
One of the best character in the series. Rest in peace Brok. You will be missed.🙏🏻
42:37 This has to be my favorite Brok moment ever
One of the funniest things about Brok is the words he makes up. “What in the jarnsmida happened to him?” I used to think these were real dwarf or Norwegian words until Sindri tells him to stop making words up lol. Dam I never thought I’d have Brok listed as one of my all time favorite characters but here I am..😢
Funny thing is, he didn’t make that one up. The place you first rescue “Tyr” is called the Jarnsmida Pitmines
Hes the least expected character I'd expect to die *I SWEAR.*
guess that was the writers idea
When Eric Williams took over, Cory Barlog wanted 3 thing done, I don’t remember the other 2 but one of them was that Brok had to die.
Rest in peace Brok. Your dialogue and frequent cursing were golden.
"what's to stop the all-fucker from spyin on ya" my god that made me laugh so hard for absolutely no reason at all 😂
Brok even said something about Odin raven-pecking Kratos' ceiling while he's sleeping. That mental image is just funny as fuck. 😂😂😂
RIP Brok. U and mimir made me laugh more times than i can count. thx for all the gear upgrades legend
54:54 one of the saddest scenes in videogames ive seen
22:56 the way Brok says it makes me laugh every time. 😂 you will be missed. Taken to soon.
'Im the only possible one around here' is definitely true that. He's the ONLY one that can see through Odin's disguised.
Swells the heart a bit
What a great game.
Idk whats more sad, the fact that brok died or seeing sindri turn cold and have nothing but hate for you.
Who knew that the foul-mouthed dwarf, who was merely a comic-relief side character in the first game, would end up being the emotional gutpunch of the second game?
Brok's words of wisdom and his blunt, borderline offensive humor will be a comfort in dark times. I'm going to miss that little blue bastard.
1:36 I'm pretty sure this is Brock's way of saying that Atreus has really grown up
“All f**cker” that’s why Mimir said that 🤯
I know Brok outsmarting Odin will haunt him forever
Brok slapped the shit out of that mask out his hand. 😂😂😂
Brok always crack me up, its really sad that he has to die
Best Brok moment by far:
*Atreus becomes bear*
Brok: “WHAT THE FUCK”
That part has me dying! 😂😂😂
25:10 gotta be my favorite
banter between Mimir and Brok
MVP Brok, without him the whole Ragnarok plan will fail.
Atreus: what are u doing ?
Brok: non ya
Atreus : what?
Brok : non ya F#cking business.
Fucking classic! 😂😂😂
"Bet you're glad ol' Brok's around to save your Uh-Ooh." - Gets me every time!
41:50 😂 even Kratos was confused
“A shit smells the same regardless of how it got shat.”
they really Killed THE BEST CHARACTER OF THE GAME imma really miss brok
Brok didn't have to die man...
He already died though.
Man seeing him die was a little too much for me tbh.
@@EmptyMan000
That's not what he meant.
He can't rest in peace
He literally cannot enter the lake of souls without his missing Soul Bit
I realised that in GOW 2018 there is plenty of hints that Brok died since nearly all of the corpses you can find are blue
Just finished his funeral in game. He was probably my all time favorite side character of any game. Right before he dies he gets one last quip in. Man it felt good when Odin died
Brok: "Hey! I'm talking to you!"
Brok was about to whoop Fake Tyr's ass. 😂😂😂
All fucker gets me everytime especially when mimir said it 😅
My favorite Dwarf.
Also this is my favorite Part: 4:57
brok was a real one fr he held it down and noticed how odin was calling him loki not Atreus
you really can understand why sindri is the way he is against kratos even after everything that’s happened
Just remember: you can’t spell “Brok” without “Bro”…
8:11 was a little foreshadowing if you competed the game
The thing that stuck me the most was that Brock wasn't fooled by Odin. I believe this was because the part of his soul "direction" was missing. He couldn't be mislead.
That actually makes sense.
Me watching an entire hour long video looking for “fuckle”
Same lol
35:29
Mad respect to Brok.
Awww, family dinner!😊 6:56
34:45 love the reference to kratos dying multiple times in the past
A shit smells the same regardless of how it got shat. Goes well with the later line: The nature of the thing is more important than the form of the thing. RIP You brutally honest blacksmith.
Mimir: A touching story, that was.
Brok: Bite me.
Mimir: You wish.
Ha! That bit was funny.
You didn't have to do this Santa Monica... but you did it anyways.
“I knew our spear would do the trick! Well, Happy Ragnarok, everybody. Let’s drink.” Brok is a funny guy lol.
Well, My hunch says otherwise........ Scrote, too. 😂
He was the best in all of franchise I'm still heartbroken over all this
I love the fact that this video appears in the search results for "brok butt cheek".
13:32 we should probably go get him
*LEAVES*
45:35
Bro thought he's hearing Brok call his home ASSgard...
When you first play it you don't realize they are giving you time with Brok when you 2 are paired up, too bad it wasn't longer!
Literally. They pass it off as “Kratos likes Brok because he speaks plainly” and “Atreus & Sindri became good friends”
Would’ve loved to see the Huldra bros., Lúnda, Durlin, and Ræb all in a bar together, telling profane stories lol
@@toddelmsworth640
Brok would win hands down. 😂😂😂
"Did y'all change the ding dang time of day? Okay, well that's impressive." LOL, I love Lunda. 40:37
She sounds like Sandy Cheeks from SpongeBob SquarePants.
I swear, Brok feels like a GTA character
You forgot the optional part where you can go back to where you fought the first Dreki during "Forging Destiny", Brok will follow you to that place and dares you to stick your hand in the Yggdrasil Rift.
th-cam.com/video/BRoYP45HAdg/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=CrispyBenoit
I literally cried when he died gotta say he was such a chad in combat shit talked everyone he fought and broke their spirit and he saved the mask also Thor too
1:32 is my favourite part also that mermaid
I miss himm! Really miss him
Brok was the most real character,he never pretended,he was always genuine.
