I really hope the the whole "Hippos laying eggs" becomes a thing that sticks around even long after this series ends and in any other series that also have hippos.
Someone should make a game specifically about being a hippo but make it so that they lay eggs instead lmfao

Hey fooster just a tip on the meteorite sites. You can have clan mates carry the other babies w no genetic mutations follow you to the site and as long as they are following you when you discover the site, all of the babies being carried will get mutations as well so you can get all 6 babies w mutations. 🙂
And just another add on the mutations take effect or appear rather, when the babies are put down off your back in a sleeping spot. W every baby that went w you that was being carried you should get a mutation once every baby is set down. 🙂
And also, bringing all the kids gives more reinforcements.

Really been enjoying the series! Just wanted to give you a tip for min maxing meteorites. When you discover a meteorite site and inspect it, all babies that are with your group will gain a mutation if they don't have one. You will also get 1 more reinforcement for each baby in your group. If you bring 2 more adult apes and make them carry 2 babies each, you can get 12 reinforcements and 6 mutations for your next generation skip. Best done early in the game when you have lots of neurons unlocking early, less impactful later in the game though so no need to worry about trying to min max.
Really enjoying it, even the hippo eggs part... lol, little blunders make it more authentic and funnier to watch...
As soon as you mentioned the hippo eggs I smashed the like button without watching the video yet. 😅😅 I really appreciate someone who can laugh at themselves. We're all goofy and say silly things from time to time.

The Aloe plant is useful for many things. You can use the needles from it to stitch wounds and I believe it has medicinal uses as well
aloe is one of the few plants that could legitimately be considered a super food. it is one of the few Non-poisonous plants that are used in medicine.

When you go to a meteor site, take two other apes with you, with both of them carrying two babies. If you do this, you will get an extra 6 points you can lock in, instead of just two. It's the best way to lock in the most inherited traits at once. A total of twelve traits that you can lock in...
I love how you seem so amazed and in awe of everything new, like, at 33:53 you see a Gazelle as if you *-a modern day man playing this game millions of years into the future-* have NEVER seen such UNBELIEVABLE creatures before.
And it is their *necks* that you comment on. It is almost like we are hearing the direct thoughts of Caesar as he marvels at a simple Gazelle.... I can't wait to see him react to a Giraffe! 😆

I have played this, when it first came out, and it is a great game. I never got far into it but watching you play is re-invigorating my desire to fire it up again. It is such a beautiful looking game and the premise is so captivating. I'm, for sure, gonna give this one another go.

There's injured primates in every map locale; unaffiliated primates have afflictions indicated in body-language: cradled injured-arm, hugs an envenomed-leg, clasps stomach-poisoning; pending on your perception of afflictions, every injured-non-member can be healed with something nearby, subsequently adding them to your tribe and its DNA pool.

It's interesting to watch you play because it has opened my eyes to the breadth of how many ways the game can be played. I played it really slow, discovering every point of interest before moving on to the next biome. But I like your playstyle and will probably adapt a similar approach into my next playthrough

Great video as always. A tip for the heat, try using either a granite grinder on the aloe sap OR finding mud piles. They both give longer protection, and mud gives camouflage protection.

Such a fun series! Love the exploration, the dangers, the stuff you find!!! Also - maybe you should do some more inspecting in terms of plants that stick out of the grass? Like the white flowers in the beginning of your Savanna exploration... You did catch the Aloe plant, but completely ignored those white flowers that - maybe - pretty much could be useful in terms of supplementing the horsetail or something like plant fiber... Haven't played this game, but I would be all over the place searching and inspecting and exploring XD
I like how he was injured and trying to fix his broken leg but easily gets distracted by a shiny thing

I have started playing this game too all because of you and your awesome videos.
One thing about meteorites. After inspecting the site, you have to pick it up and inspect it with the kids with you in order to get the mutations.
Also, mud is a great way to help with heat. It also gives you a sneaking boost to keep the bad things away.
I really hope you keep playing this, a lot of others I’ve seen playing this don’t ever do anything past being out in the savannah and it seems like you have a lot of stuff to discover without evolving too crazy
They never even get to experience the coast 'cause they seem to think the savannah is endgame
