Excellent video. Herrera is honestly one of the best dinosaurs to play as right now, due to its sheer mobility. The vertical rock climbing and extreme reduced fall damage are awesome. A lot of players I see don’t realize that you get exponentially further jump pounce range if you’re latched onto a vertical surface as opposed to standing on a branch or high spot. I’ve also been told (but don’t know for sure) that only other Herrera can see your bioluminescent dewlap.
This game is one of those games that’s better watched than played. It’s be so frustrating to spend hours growing up only to get a drink and lose it all. No risk no reward tho. Thank you for your amazing vids.
Idk man, I've got 3,000 hours over years in this game. I both scream in horror and laugh hysterically at what you can get up to with friends in this game. It is meant to be played with people, and when you have good people it's a blast. You just gotta accept that sometimes you will die, and learn from each death. These days I rarely die at all anymore because I've taken each lesson and put it to use. I literally had a Cerato that lived 6 months on Legacy version. When Evrima came out, my first Tenonto lived for months, until they did a server wipe. This game really makes you use your brain if you want to survive a long time. But, again, it's meant to be played with friends! That's when it truly shines.
@@SnidgetAsphodel How could you possibly live for months on evrima? Every time you log back in its a gamble if your dino is still their cause the safelogging doesnt always work.
Mate I have absolutely fallen in love with your content, I have watched every episode of the isle series almost twice now. Can't wait to see the channel grow and expand as I know it will on this road to 1 million. Much love from a massive fan.
the little raptor feeding on the bod with you isn't mix packing. That's scavenging. It's too small to be competition. Now if he were bigger then yea it's mix packing. Predators don't allow competition near their food. Deinos do because they're cannibals.
2 different species eating the same corpse isn't mix packing. Things like this happen still today. It could be argued that mixing predators for a hunt happens as well, but i definitely understand why the second one shouldn't happen. As you have said before, this breaks game balance in a variety of ways.
@@CrucibleOfHate I'd argue it's only really frustrating if it's a herbivore teaming up with a carnivore/obvious prey and predator team up. Predators do occasionally team up irl, be it babboons and lions, coyotes and badgers or tarantula spiders and frogs. It's rare sure but not entirely beyond the scope of an animal survival sim
When you joined that group and there were 4 dinos around the pond, that was awesome. Everything looks so empty of other players, and yet, there are dinosaurs all over the place, just unseen, as it should be.
This creature alone helps me visualize just how theropods became birds. You have this critter that can climb trees real well because of it's size and shape and claws. It ambushes things from above. Wouldn't it be _super helpful_ to be able to jump good from tree to tree? That success between jumping from tree to tree would turn into _gliding_ from tree to tree. Eventually one of the descendants wouldn't even need trees to climb first as gliding became true flight.
Fun fact; that’s not currently the most favored reason for the evolution of flight, and we’re not even sure herrerasaurus is a dinosaur, much less a theropod- it might be like Eoraptor, a very early sauropod relative!
The alternative hypothesis comes from running over rough terrain! Flapping behavior is seen in many flightless and semi-flightless birds as they run up slopes. You can see it most easily in chickens climbing things
I love the bit about dying being a new beginning. Of course dying is frustrating but it also means I get to do it all again, maybe in a different way. I like to play the game like a story similar to you, marking my travels on the gps map each time l stop to rest and screenshotting my path when I die to remember it, knowing that soon I will have a completely different dino with its own travels later on. Hell, I never even use the same camouflage on a dino twice because I want each play through to feel like I am an entirely new creature with its own unique life and experience each time
