Tips: Stick to the trees at first, because everything dangerous (aside from the birds) are on the ground, and you travel much faster by jumping from tree to tree. Also, your clan learns by watching, so for instance, if they see you eating something new or doing something new (like cracking open something with a rock, or making a spear for instance) then they will do it too. For example, in this video you can see other apes eating or drinking what you do.

It's less them looking and copying you doing something new and more you having to go to a specific skill tree line to get a command for copying. Before that they just literally don't eat or drink u less you are in their tether range for eating or drinking

So glad you're trying this game out! There's a lot going on and there's more crafting to do than you might realize. Try various things out and maybe try using one item with another/ on another. I don't want to spoil anything for you, but I hope that wasn't too much of a hint. Can't wait to see more!
Some tips: Use your senses, it’s not a typical game where you figure out what’s going on by looking around with your eyes, you stop moving a lot to switch between senses and get your information that way. You don’t just find predators by stumbling into them, if you’re going to leave the relative safety of the tree canopy, use your sense of hearing to check for predators before going to the forest floor. Always be using all three senses to check what’s going on around you and identify everything with all senses because it increases your neural development. When you are being attacked the game is slowing time and trying to teach you how to dodge the attack but you’re panicking and dismissing the tip and getting destroyed every time. Learn how to dodge. Many actions like grooming, dodging, and crafting use a sound cue to indicate when you release the button. When grooming for example you hold the button til you hear the sound then let go and the bond increases.

and also stand up whenever you get the opportunity, it helps you learn the walking ability, which when paired with the ability to control emotions (obtained from second evolution), can make you really fast, because emotions decide how fast you are.

You really have to be more careful on the ground haha, or at least use the trees more! Anyway it's awesome seeing you play this game, hope it turns into a series. Gonna have to redownload it now.
This HAS to be a series! This little area of jungle is only a tiny fraction of the playable area, and there's so many mechanics and animals you haven't seen yet. My recommendation: when you use your senses, be extra thorough in identifying literally everything around you. It's what helps you conquer fear of the unknown, and find new and interesting tools and foods. Oh, and definitely stay in the trees as much as possible (not too high though, otherwise the massively-oversized eagle will get you). I loved this video, I've loved watching other TH-camrs' playthroughs, and I can't wait for more!
We get it you like a trash game
No the jungle is the only biome for this evolution species (The Missing Links). Over time when you evolve your species, the area and biomes change to more arid types like we see today. That’s why you see newer animals like elephants and buffalos by the end of the game.
@@idrissbenaziz2411 no its not you can literally see the savannah area from the jungles father tree. I spent a while making my first evolution as good as possible and my next quest is to settle the savannah and I'm less than 1 million years through evolution. The habitats in the game unfortunately don't seem to change much.
This game has weird mechanic, but once you internalize them and they become second nature, this game becomes a real gem if you're really nerding out with the concept. Loved it.

I've only seen Ancestors a couple times over the years and it piqued my interest, but every other TH-camr that I watched dropped it very early on. For now, I legitimately could not ask for a better content creator to pick up the game and showcase what it has to offer than you, it's a perfect match honestly.
On the off chance that you'd see this, please consider continuing the game and making it into a series (No pressure or anything as I know you've got The Infected, Metro, possibly SCUM and maybe even Red Dead coming, so take your time and please keep Ancestors at the back of your mind if possible).
It’s probably cuz it’s a pretty boring game after the first couple hours cuz you do the same thing over and over and over, snd never even progress to denisovans Neanderthals or any more advanced human species. It’s so monotonous and just doesn’t have anything to show for it except you get sharp stick, and get to scan and click on 10000000 of the same thing over and over

The game tells you that you have to manage hunger, thirst, AND tiredness, so sleeping is a must, poor apes don't run on Duracell.
Watching you playing this game was hella fun. Tips: use your senses constantly when you move and inspect everything you see with "?"; remember what each item does or at least the healing stuff; walk as much as you can starting with shallow water and while using senses (jumping from tree to tree and using vines is cool but not good for the locomotion neurons); and the most important lay down on a sleep spot and grow neurons, learning how to modify items and improving communication are key. Will be tough at first, took me like 3 tries and lot of dead clan members to figure out how to fight properly lol and way more to fully understand the neuron tree and how generations work. Hoping this to be a series and watch more!

I absolutely love this game; it's intensity is unexpected! I never made it very far, but some of the things I learned very early is to stick to your main camp and learn everything you can about smashing rocks, making tools and weapons before you start venturing out. Most importantly, stay in the trees!!! EVERYTHING on the ground will want to kill you. hahah Great first look though!

This is an interesting take on survival and gosh that snake was huge!
Friendly reminder. once you start mating and expanding your clan you can hold two baby chimps when exploring. One on the front and on on the back. This game if I remember right is all about imprinting so the more chimps to see the better. Also to help with teaching your monkey to walk upright walk through the water when you can.

as someone with 75.1 hours in ancestors I get ptsd when your hominid is in panic ode because i have died because it plays sound that animals make and you don't know what's real or not

Having played this game a bit, this was really enjoyable to see. It was nice seeing how new the game was to you, and how the theories formulate as you take your first steps.

Would definitely recommend doing some experimentation before committing to a full playthrough - the game is really intuitive once you get to understand it world a bit better, but it' a good idea to burn your first couple of start just learning. Oh and ALWAYS carry *two* kids!

YES! I've played this game since the second it released and absolutely loved it. such a challenge and the fact there is so much freedom and not many hints and tips to survive gives it such a cutting edge survival experience. Very slept on game and im more than happy to see you playing it! this game is no joke and it can be easy to give up when things go wrong, but continue to give it your all until you figure out how to be the king of the jungle!

I love this game! It was made by one of the creators of Assassins Creed, Patrice Desilets. He was creative director for the first three Assassins Creed games. He put a lot of love into this game. Created by Panache Digital Games, the indie studio he made after leaving Ubisoft. Once you get the mechanics down in this game it becomes very addicting and really makes you want to explore the entire map/develop you clans brain as much as you can, which the two go hand in hand. Would love to see more Fooster! Thanks for the great content as always!
I just killed my entire lineage, mostly by falling out of trees.
I bought this game when it first came out and still replay it all the time, it is a very unique concept and I like how they literally just throw you in and don't really tell you much, one tip I will give you is to always have a baby with you!

omg, Fooster, I love this game so much and used to play it every day in high school. I'm in college now and if you played this game for as long as you could that would be absolutely amazing, it would feel like re playing the game!
I saw your playlist recommended to me and noticed you played through the whole game! Im impressed, this is one of my top fav games and not a lot of people play it for long. And not a lot of people say they really liked it, so it makes me really happy seeing someone enjoying their time with it!
hopefully one day Panache will release some more news on Ancestors 2 cause I know this map way too much and I kind of want to develop into a Caveman next with some new terrain to stomp around 🗿

I played this when it first came out. I'm a big history nerd and I did a lot on human evolution. I'm even currently going through the earth chilldren series which follows neanderthals and modern homo sapiens. I'm so glad I found that you played this. It's going to be an interesting watch. 😊

Now this is a game that has my heart, I must have finished it around 5 or 6 times now doing various types of challenge run and different starting spawns, Got 100% of the trophies and I remember completely maxing out the skill tree thing on one of my runs.. Mann that took some effort to get all the mutations you need👀🤣

Yes, please I'd loved to see more of this game. I played it some when it came out but it was sooo hard, also when they panik and it gets all dark and eyes glowing it just stressed me out so I stoped playing.. But listening to your voice always relaxes me so I was not stressed at all. Please make it a serie or at least make one or two more to see if you like it!!

I’ve always wanted to watch a play through of this! I heard it is considered a difficult game, not sure how accurate that is, but excited to see what it’s all about.
It is quite difficult especially if ur just figuring stuff out and going blind. I had to do some research on how to do things properly but even then the game is hard to get used to with lots of dangers around.

I absolutely loved watching you play this and can't wait to see more!
