It was so epic that I can hardly hold my tears. The tragedy of death of the main character we get attached to, the horror of little chimp left alone in the dark, the thriller of the old tired ape who is rushing through the jungles, fighting predators, climbing the rocks and crossing the rivers at the edge of his limits, risking his life without a doubts to save a new generation. And eventually the happy end. This story deserves a movie. Thank you very much for such a beautiful content 💜

This episode was a rollercoaster of close calls. I've never been so invested in the survival of apes before 😅
Its a little funny, that it took the death of a young male, and the loss of an infant, for Caesar to finally "rise" up, but seriously, just hearing the excitement in your voice as you got the abillity to always stand, is a big part of why I love this channel, just the joy you get from it, unlike some content creators who seem bored, or do a video only for the views, you try to do something for both the audience, and yourself, and I can appreciate that man!

I don't know why, but that death by falling pulled out an extremely emotional response from me. No crying, but my body can't calm down. I don't know how to explain it. I don't even feel connected to your characters. I'm playing alongside and just enjoy you.
Its probably because of how well done the death sequence was. Nothing flashy, just drop, quick breaths, then death.
I've never actually fallen far enough to flat out die...that death sequence was truly gut wrenching. RIP
It's probably the worst death in the game, not because it's badly done, but because it's done too well, which is good.
Unnecessary mistakes mate. I think you want to do these things, but all is good. Being adventurous is the best.
31:23 I believe you already unlocked the neurons you want for the clan to be able to fight and dodge. They are on the left side and it's two different neurons; one for attacking, and one for dodging.
I thought I had seen something saying the group would defend or something like that
Not sure what you have unlocked on that side but don't forget they can mimic your actions to grab and strip sticks, move with an army
@@thefoosterchannel if they mimic you, you can actually have them all strip the sticks as someone said. But also, they can mimic you to sharpen said sticks to make spears.

Can you get your clan to quickly build barricades for hunting? I mean if you got the neurons they can pick sticks up through mimic. Throwing is an option without any neurons etc. maybe throwing spears are a thing?

You have to bring more adults with you while out exploring. Be sure to make them mimic creating weapons and stone tools, Applying mud etc etc
You could have been doing the game with all the clan members from the start, just order them to follow you, and as the communication improves, things will be even easier. Focus on learning group communication dynamics and everything will be easier.
i think he likes going it alone because a lot of people left comments like this and he dosent do it.
@@tilenHD Yes maybe he stubborn or just likes the adrenaline of not having a partner to save his clan member. The clan members can defend themselves very early on, but even if not yet, clan members can allways defend or kill attackers when controlled by the player.
As we all know hippos do indeed lay eggs, and when food in their environment gets low they will feast on their own eggs for sustenance.
Hence the creation of everyone's favorite childhood board game hungry hungry hippos.

Thing I discovered is when you get in alert mode (by pressing shift) and hold space you run really fast.

21:05 I believe the reason why his vitality was so low was because sometimes apes at your settlement get stuck and won’t eat, drink, or sleep unless the player is around you can prevent this by looking for apes that look like they’re standing around confused and tell them to follow you and then go to a sleeping spot and end expedition or you can use your clan call and gather everyone and end expedition and it should reset anyone who’s stuck

To prep you clan for move and to have them ready, you have to make a lot of sharpened sticks and pile them at the home. When you are ready to move grab the sticks and give them to your clan members and then move out. any able bodied clan member will have a weapon and will be able to defend them selves during the move. I've had my clan take out a pig and a cat together during a migration to a new home.
After you make all the clan members follow you, you can ask them to imitate you behavior step by step, from grabbing a branch to altering and making a stick to fight with inside the jungle. So you just need to order them imitation after every single step and thats it 😊
Just use group intimidatiion when moving the whole group, it pretty much scares anything away if they all have sticks in their hands and you can get a mutation that gives AI controlled humanoids the ability to fight back when attacked and even kill them.
Stumbled upon this playthrough after completely forgetting about this game for 2 years, and I’m having a great time man! Only watch the three most recent but I’m loving it :) keep it up, glad I made it just in time for the start of hippo eggs
I moved my settlement to that cave you died in because I thought it was nice looking, I moved to another place after 2 apes died from falling. So easy to die there.
Here is a a tip, you can control your Avatars emotion with LT for calm and RT for alert, alert will also increase your movement speed. So instead of spamming the A button and jumping you can hold RT+A and run for faster speeds than A alone.

After coming across your channel with a farcry primal video last week, it has been an absolute joy watching you play these 2 games. They are 2 of the least known games out there. But they are 2 of my favorite games that I have played. As a gamer, it's always special when you come across a game that totally captivates you. Then when you see another game share the same enthusiasm for the same games, it's just a pleasure.

Fooster, I'm gonna say this again. You can sprint while holding shift and then space, which is especially effective on two legs.
You can also sneak on animals if you hold Ctrl.
btw, when you get to the next evolution i recommend moving your clan to the savanna as it will help with unlocking more evolution feats very good very nice! also if you see this could you please show me your settings, cheers👍

Recently found your channel and it’s one of the best things that’s happened to me. Your calmness in narrating is beautiful
The challenge I found, probably because I didn't get very far, was the whole getting the clan to mimic switching hands to eat, and then dropping whatever they were carrying to drink. Eating and drinking they will do on their own, but not while carrying something. They will fight independently, just have to make sure they are also maintaining their food and water.
fooster .... the cave you fell in is actually one of the very few clan settlements that are 100% secure. although, that one is a bit tricky to go back up from. there is another one before the door of savanah that is easy to go in to, easy to out, and 100% secure with food, water, and everything you might need.

Have clan members follow you and when you do an action have them mimic you. Mimic picking a stick, mimic stripping it, mimic sharpening it. Everything. It all helps mature those communication neurons
You can find those stones by using the intelligence. And if you stand up, you can see farther and all the way around you. They often are somewhere high up, or down below.
Also, I think you should move around with your whole clan. All the babies learn, especially when you come across a meteorite. You can fend off other animals way easier, which will also boost your communication skill and whenever you find a spot you can then just claim it without having to go back and bring your clan all the way back again.
So that death scene after that fall was haunting. It had me chills. So glad bipedalism was the nice end to the episode. Can't wait to watch more.
I don't know if have unlocked it yet, but you can order your clan members to mimic you. So you can make them pick a dead branch and pick up a stone and then make them make a sharpened stick which they can carry with them and use to protect themselves. Just beware that, in order for them to be able to drink, eat or sleep, the stick should be in their left hand. I'm not sure, but I think they will switch to the right hand automatically when they get attacked
One of your Ancestors eps was recommended to me a few days ago, so I watched the lastest ones. My girlfriend was super interested in the game as well so we've just spend the afternoon watching the playlist. Can't wait for future episodes!
This game looks so fun. I would love a sequel where you could branch off from our common ancestor into different evolutions depending on choices. Homosapien or Gigantopithecus or Gorilla for example. And I’d like a section of game where you play as them with their abilities. Gigantopithecus seems like it would be strongest. Homosapien would be smartest. Gorilla would be more of a balance perhaps..strong but basic intelligence. So cool!
Also Gigantopithecus is basically Bigfoot so it would be the most stealthy. So much potential.

Also the predators seem to not be accurate in terms of what would exist for the time period. The snakes and crocodiles and cats are the size of how they are now. They should be bigger. And the strength of the primates should vary depending on time period. So neat!
Obviously a 10 foot ape would be stronger than something like a chimpanzee.
But that wouldn't work in a sequel. The lineages that would lead to gorillas and gigantopithecus already existed long before this game takes place.
Also, gigantopithecus was nothing like Bigfoot. You have been playing too much ark.
When other youtubers I watch played this game, I hated it. You actually show off the game like nobody else has so far. At least not that I've seen. This is a great series to watch! I've been subscribed for awhile and my husband and I watch your videos together. Keep up the great work!

That ape death was absolutely brutal, just watching him struggle for those shallow breathes and he’s eyes cast towards the sky. Makes you appreciate how animals live, they live on the edge of death every single day.

This episode gave me such anxiety. Been waiting for this for a while now. Great episode. You know what makes humans scary hunters. They kept running after their pray. Imagine thinking you ran away just to see a human constantly every time you do.

31:29 you want to unlock true aim a skill that raises the chances of landing an attack with every weapon and lowers the chance of getting hit or bit this way you can travel with your clan without fear. It's found near the top left.

I only started watching your videos 2 days ago, but this has been an amazing series so far. But far and away this was the most emotional rollercoaster of a ride I've experienced in a long time. You had mentioned about Caesar being the name of the first bipedal chimp. I said to myself after the epic journey the elder chimp had; if only this chimp could walk upright this would be the perfect storyline for Caesar. I was so happy when he learned how to walk upright, you honestly couldn't have scripted the story better. From the tragedy of the death of the adolescent chimp, to the younger generation chimp having to escape death and watch his brother get killed. Running for his life and hiding under a rock. Then the elder chimp going on a Rambo like mission to save the young chimp and assert his predatory dominance over everything he came across. Not letting ANYTHING stop him from saving the baby chimp. Then being able to hear the young chimp crying in fear and searching for him. Then after all that evolve the ability to walk upright on 2 legs and be the step in advancing the species. Movies nowadays don't have this kind of emotional range in them. Kudos on one of the most amazing gaming videos I have ever had the pleasure of watching. You have earned a subscriber for life.

Go to a tree and grab branch. Then order mimic. Now strip the branch and again order mimic. you can do this with anything. They will mimic anything you do. You just need to order them after each part you do yourself.

Group moving is real and it's glorious! You'll have to work on communicating with the group, they can mimic as well as defend themselves and it only takes hollering at other clan members often. And a mutation I believe
Essentially just using the same button fir intimidation when at your oasis or near other members. In my playthough I always moved in a group. I think it starts with taking individuals like squads(?) out, but not sure
Ru could've been in 3 situations 1. Being inside the anaconda, 2. The cat got him and ate him. 3 he ventured off and is looking for you.

when you're in your settlement round everyone up like you would when moving and they will just follow you anywhere. You can also tell them to copy what you're doing, so when you grab a stick, they will also grab it.

Going out alone is a bad idea. You should travel with the clan. And arm them with sharp sticks.

Can we all agree that the death from falling is probably the most brutal and guy wrenching death because you can tell that he is in excruciating pain but can do anything unlike the many other times it fell and broke a bone. It was helpless, scared, and suffering. Honestly the worst death to get in the game, which is a good thing
A good rule of thumb is;
If you want skills then just go out and do them more.
In your case you want your clan to defend themselves, use communication to arm your clan with sticks and go take out animals with your clan. They will learn eventually.
Hi, am a brand new subscriber after watching this series alone - love it, it feels like the first time in ways with your genuine laughter that doesn't feel scripted in ANY way but have a question is all. Why don't you always keep your tribe at solid 18 members? It's not easy all the time but it's doable and kind of fun side project to make sure when time passes you have 6 elders, 6 breeding adults, and 6 kids no matter what - at ALL times. Breeding and maintaining those 18 are usually my very first step into beating the science timeline.
Am sure you know this by now but if your own tribe member passes away from old age, or gets mortally injured - or eaten - you can go out and find new "lost" tribe members to replace them but they usually require assistance which they give sign language for with what they need. It brings outside genetics with possible mutations that could be extremely beneficial.
One thing I never tried that "they" said to do (and to me makes perfect sense) is to load up all 6 kids, take the 3 adults who can make the journey with a few guards, and THEN go to the meteorite sites. You're doing right thing by carrying two babies like little parasites, which gives 2 points but if you successfully take all 6 babies there to witness finding it, they all get an extra point from radiation mutations. So to proceed on the "skill tree", if you do this every time, you can skip ahead or lock in more skills than anyone who is playing the game without knowing this. You're light years ahead.
Kind of like walking in shallow streams carrying loads of brush. Neurons fire almost every second. I consider that an "ape workout" and if they gain knowledge or experience along the way, then so be it. Nobody can tell me our ancestors didn't do this. It's something that would teach water currents, upper body strength, dexterity, and sure footedness. Also upper body and spine/neck strength because they can't walk on all 4's in that in waist deep water. And I doubt they got tired that quick. Ever seen how muscular apes are? Especially rare hairless ones? It's frightening to see that even in a zoo (with nothing to do really) they're more stacked than olympian weight lifters or body builders. That's how they're born and just are. Yes, that's how strong we used to be too - and some are pretty close today if they OCD work out 8hrs a day, 7 days a week eating 8000 calories a day. Our bodies just didn't see any need for them anymore (a mutation) once we completely stopped swinging from trees finding better places to live that would also help evolve pre human (you know what I mean) settlements or civilizations that we know existed.
10/10 series.
