    Truth is the 2018 Red Sox were one of the best baseball teams ever. Started the season 17-2, led wire-to-wire and finished with 108 wins. 7-2 in the AL Playoffs beating two 100 win teams and took care of the Dodgers in five games.
    All totaled a record of 119-57 on the season. I mean, Holy Cow!

      @@snagmayne4515 - Cora was suspended only because he was part of the 2017 Astros. MLB investigated and stated the 2018 Red Sox did none of what the Astros did. Why the Astros were fined two 1st and 2nd round picks and $5M while Boston received a slap on the wrist for something unrelated. Might wanna read up on it before you post next time.

      Those are some very nice statistics Lippett, They were 7- 2 in the American league playoffs and they beat two 100 win teams and also beat a very good Dodgers team to win the World Series❗️ And now that you have brought that all to my attention and also added up there total win and loss for the whole regular season and post, Then I agree with you that the 2018 Red Sox were one of the best baseball teams ever. And hopefully there is still some more Red Sox Nation Magic to come...

      Eovaldi's valiant performance in game 3 cannot be understated. Before he came in they were talking about the Sox being stretched thin by the game, made worse because an expected starter in Eovaldi was now being used. But, 6 innings later his performance forced LA to be stretched thin as well. Sucks that they fell just short, but it kept things even going forward.

I knew whoever was going to face them at the world series it was going to be the same result in them winning the championship, these guys played great ball. Congrats on winning it all. It was quite satisfying to see Puig in disappointment, the same guy who was bragging about saying the dodgers will win it all. Anyways Red Sox, RESPECT to them. They literally did this all year. You don’t win 108 times in the regular season by cruising to easy victories in every game. Many of the games the Sox won were by scratching and clawing their way back after falling behind early or blowing leads late. Over and over again they just found a way to win. Talented, deep, resilient, and relentless. Go Sox!!! ❤️

      If anything, cruising to easy victories in every single game would be expected more for a 108-win team than, say, a 90-win team. I'm not saying the Red Sox weren't absolutely dominant, though, because they definitely were.

    Kimbrel allowed 2 runs in the bottom of the frame. Had Devers not taken off on the pitch the Dodgers would’ve forced a Game 6 at Fenway.

    Dodgers had no one warming in the pen in a tied WS game in the ninth? Then they have Floro (R) pitch against Devers (L) and Swihart(S)? Could have been a 1-2-3 inning if a lefty was up and ready to come in. I would be interested in what advanced Saber-metrics informed these choices.

    • @EricAKATheBelgianGuy
      @EricAKATheBelgianGuy 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly! I'm not against sabermetrics as a whole, but there are times when it can pay off to be more traditional. Plus, I feel like many of the stats are purely hypothetical or tougher to measure. Batting average may be an imperfect statistic, but it's easy to measure. And perhaps I don't want it to be a perfect statistic.

      If the Red Sox get any kind of lead in the mid to late game, I almost expect Chris Sale to still pitch an inning. Alex Cora is overly aggressive at times and he uses his arms like it's 1991. Everyone expected it to backfire for game 4 but they pulled that out

    • @JosephWangrocks
      @JosephWangrocks 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@oMaJoJ If they have a narrow lead, say 1 or 2, I think they will switch out pitchers and use Barnes and maybe even Nathan. It is a really important game as they could win the whole series. It is worth exhausting our bullpen.

    If it's not Chicago it's Boston. Almost kind of like when the Cubs slaughtered the Dodgers in that pivotal Game five in the NLCS two years before in the Dodgers' own stadium. Now two years later the Red Sox do the same deed in the Dodgers' own stadium again. Could it be that the Billy Goat curse moved on from Chicago to Los Angeles? Possibly.

    How often does a team that won 108 games lose the Series to a team that won 92 games? How about never. Boston shredded Houston's staff, the best in baseball. They were going to beat any NL team. One of the times that trying to buy a WS worked.
