      No doubt he would have made the catch. The only question is whose side the ball was on at the time. And because that's in question, and the umpire made a fan interference ruling on the field, that whole question is moot.

      @@hagamapama That wasn't the only question. Another question was, did the fans contact Mookie's glove on the playing field side of the wall. They did, and that's interference.

    When will fans learn NOT to INTERFERE in PLAYOFF GAMES.....Steve Bartmen ring a bell......geeesh!!!!

    • @scoobtube5746
      @scoobtube5746 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      What are fans supposed to do when the ball is hit right _at_ them? It's not like that ball was going to land in play, it was going to land on a fan. So they pretty much have to put their hands up, at least as a defensive motion. I understand MLB rules, but I'd have a hard time ruling that interference. It's more like incidental contact to me, as the fans have a right to be where they were, and they have a right to defend themselves from balls hit in their direction.

    • @scoobtube5746
      @scoobtube5746 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Watch a boxing or MMA match. Fighters defend themselves with their hands forward. They don't stand there taking punches, they put their arms up and forward. So clearly you are wrong, and the call is questionable.

    • @scoobtube5746
      @scoobtube5746 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're contradicting yourself. If arms are forward, then they are technically up. For arms to be down, they would need to be at your side, in a non-defensive posture. The trajectory of the ball was not to land in play, but to land in the stands where the fans were standing. This means the fans had the right to interfere with its flight path, so as to defend themselves. That means all contact with the player is incidental, and not interference. Objectively speaking, this means I am right, and you are wrong.
