I love the grizzly bear scene so much! I really wish we had gotten more playful, light-hearted scenes downstairs. Everyone, even those who dislike each other, are just relaxing, having a good laugh - just for a moment.
I agree! The few light hearted, relaxed moments that there were made it seem as if they were almost a family. This, and when they went at the fair, or at the beach.

Thomas was so incredibly dashing in series one and two I couldn't tear my eyes off him whenever he was on screen,with his signature smolder,charming presence I specially adored his vampiric appearance with snow-white complexion and red lips combined with dark hair,so hot!
They all be like “go William, teach him a lesson” until Thomas punched him. I love how Mr. Carson patted his shoulder to make sure he is not in trouble after the quarrel.
tbh I took it that he was provably so used to violence against him, and much scarier, that he’s used to it. whatever bates might do is just not doing it for him when he later tells baxter that his father “wasn’t kind to him” and that downton was the only place he could ever plant his roots, you kind of put two and two together

Poor William, he's a nice lad but didn't stand a chance in competition with Thomas. Thomas was everything that young girls usually want: tall, handsome, mature, sarcastic, playful, intelligent, a bit of a bad boy. Even those who didn't necessarily like him at first (Anna, Bates, Mrs Hughes, Mrs Patmore) had to admit that he was charming. No wonder Daisy fell in love with him and William got jealous and miserable. Obviously, Thomas was being dishonest: he knew full well that Daisy had fallen for him and, instead of discouraging her romantic feelings, he did just enough to give her false hopes and make that poor lad unhappy. He was indeed an insufferable character in the first season.

Season 1 Edith/Daisy/Anna and Season 6 Edith/Daisy/Anna are two completely different persons. Daisy started off as an 18 year old young, naive, foolish scullery maid but she evolved into a confident, educated, assistant cook. Her relationships with Mrs Pattmore, Mr Mason, William and Miss Sarah Bunting completely transform her.
@Kezia Anna's transformation was more about the outside, rather than the inside. It is still a big change. In Season 1, she is just a young and pretty Head Housemaid. By the end of Season 6, she is a Lady's Maid, a wife and a mother.
