I can’t believe she’s gone She was brilliant in all the roles she ever played I loved her in Marigold hotel but Violet had to be the best ❤ R.I.P Maggie
She’d never watched anything she’d appeared in and besides this “drivel” won 15 primetime Emmy’s and was nominated for over 200 awards in its 6 season run, and with 400 million viewers worldwide it was one of the most successful television series ever made, and she can’t have thought that poorly of it as she appeared in every episode and both movies. A role as iconic as Violet was the perfect way to round off her long career.
In my humble opinion, she was an international treasure. She will be sorely missed.
R. I. P. Dame Maggie Smith, a global superstar

I absolutely loved Downtown and the casting was the best, but, Maggie Smith was Downton. R.I.P Maggie.

I need a Mr Carson to keep me organized!!❤
It looked like great fun to play Violet - the snark and the wonderful one-liners. I hope Maggie Smith felt the same way.
She was one of a kind. Never can we forget her. Verily she was Downton Abbey herself.
I can’t believe she’s gone

What is a weekend? What is an actress? Her.
Brilliant actress especially in the prime of miss jean Brodie!!!!
What chapter is this? I see the whole serie like 100 times at this point and never seen this scene 😢
This is the movie not the series
Oh God, this entire scene looks like a precursor to Maggie Smith's demise.
🥀
I love that she has never seen one episode of this drivel. Sorry that it destroyed her anonymity though.
