  • Another two vacuum cleaners from the same owner as the JaxVax and Vactric! I had no idea what they were until I opened the box, so come and see my reaction as it was, as we look at what we have to refurbish next!

"Written by" reminded me of South Africa tourist board - through door and turn white (Goodies ref).

Hooking US vacuums (or other equipment) to a site transformer means that there is minimal chance of getting a lethal shock as it's not 110v referenced to ground but 55v on what is normally neutral and live meaning that any fault to earth (i.e. through the body) is only 55v, which isn't really that dangerous for most people if they are exposed to it.

Hi, I'm from Australia and we just use RCD's, I found it very strange that people in the UK use 110v tools on site. I guess it's due to the muddy wet conditions. I still find UK regs a bit strange like the ring main distribution with fused plugs.

Ah well that's reassuring to know then, thanks!

Its centre tapped to earth so no risk of shock

Wow the Hoover is in supreme condition. The three pin plug looks kinda like an Australian plug. Silly question, do the higher wattage machine (ie 1800w +) make the UK plugs warm of hot after a period of use?

Our UK plugs only get hot if their very broken!

The only reason I ask is my Miele s5981 (which I really love) would always get rather warm. I'm currently living in Europe and it has a standard EU plug now with round pins and it stays cold. (Sorry off topic) Cheers.

its not a mystery box if you tell us what's in it in the description! lol

Well yes, but I don't like to have meaningless video titles, they get shown in search results less. Plus, I've got about 15 more of these mystery boxes to come from the same person, so would have about 15 videos with the same title by the end!
