Wow the slop in the upper receiver with the red block installed is unacceptable.

Good video. Couple polite suggestions though. You should be using aero shell grease, anti seize or something similar on the barrel nut threads as well as the barrel extension. Also, the barrel nut wrench will not give you correct torque on a torque wrench when used as you did. It is designed to be used at a 90 degree angle to the torque wrench.

Yes thank you! I didn’t plan on going that far in-depth, the video was just to show the upper vise block. I should’ve done everything correct for educational purposes though. I took it all back apart after the video. That wasn’t even a torque wrench I used. I really appreciate the positive tips though. I wish everyone commented like you did.

Would this work with mcx rattler 300 blackout upper? Thanks for making this video. I'm just getting started. I bought the rattler and want to replace the muzzle brake.

@@alexquiton7279 I’m not sure. If the barrel extension is the same as an AR I would think it would.

Good video I was wondering what the other two pins were I just thought they were spares I guess I’ll have to get the bench vice to go with it if I want to use them

What camera were you using? That is crystal clear for such an up close shot.

"It locks into the lugs of the barrel extension and that's keeping all of the stress and torque off of your upper receiver"
This is actually 100% false. When you apply torque to the barrel nut, the barrel nut tries to rotate the upper receiver. The only thing preventing the upper receiver from rotating is the tiny index pin on your barrel. That pin was never designed to take any torque and it is incredibly easy to damage your upper when using these tools.
Pull up the video "AR-15 Reaction Rods" by AR Build Junkie where Chad Albrecht demonstrates how this happens.
These tools are okay for casual hobby use, but a $20 clamshell or $26 split block from PlastiXrevolution would be MUCH safer to use than the lug-lok. And if you want to spend close to $100 then pick up the Midwest Industries Upper Receiver Rod, which is by far the best option.

No prep for a video doesn’t lend to viewers thinking you know what your doing.
