    Wish you would do the recurved limbs to compare them for speed.

    • @twigarchery
      @twigarchery  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did chrono them a while back and they were very similar. I think the recurve had a very slight advantage. Maybe a couple FPS.

    @manuelgonzalezzambrano1989 ปีที่แล้ว

    I really think that you get that good speed, among other things, because of the light weight of the arrow. 344 greins, is very little arrow weight to hunt.

  • @LukeMcMullin
    @LukeMcMullin 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Hi, I bought one of these longbows mine is 50lbs at 28" mine shot over 200fps with 30" hunting weight arrows. I love it but find 50 lbs is a little heavy for me right now, so I ordered some lighter limbs. The price is coming up a little since I bought mine, I am paying the same price for limbs as I did for the complete bow a year ago.

    • @twigarchery
      @twigarchery  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't know where you purchased your bow, but if you did not purchase from Twig Archery, it may not be the bow poundage stated on the bow. Twig Archery puts all our bows on a bow scale so you will know the correct bow poundage. Buyer beware of where you purchase.

    • @twintwo1429
      @twintwo1429 ปีที่แล้ว

      What is the weight of your hunting weight arrow. 50 lbs at 28" and a 500 grain arrow will never achieve a speed of 180 fps, with any traditional bow. Many, many,many people have tested this with many bows.

  • @chuckbert3117

    I would like to see what speeds can be reached at hunting weight arrows.

  • @Thestripper1
    @Thestripper1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Looks like you should go for a lighter draw weight. It is clear that you are shaking at full draw. A lighter draw weight would be easier on your shoulder as well.

    • @twigarchery
      @twigarchery  ปีที่แล้ว

      The 40# was only for the purpose of the video. I wanted to use one of our most popular pound bows for the demonstration. I only shot a few arrows to get the speed.

      He's shooting 8.6 Grains per pound. It's not barn burner performance, but it's not what he's hyping it up to either. Would love to see one shot over a chrony at 10 GPP. Guessing you could knock 15-18 fps off of the numbers he got.

    • @twigarchery
      @twigarchery  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you could, although your bow would increase in poundage. If you have a 30" draw, are you sure the 30" arrow is long enough? Call me at Twig at 740 829-2847 M - W 10-5 pm EST if you would like to discuss this.
