  • Is it possible to put air in tires using a lawn mower? See how I took a Briggs & Stratton lawn mower, and converted it into an air compressor. See exactly what I did, and how the experiment air compressor experiment went. Enjoy the video!

When dealing with gas fumes, and high pressure, there's always the chance an explosion may occur, especially if everything isn't done properly. Using a check valve that opens BELOW engine compression pressure, will allow gas fumes to also be sent into the air line then into the tires you're filling! If ignited by a spark, the tire could explode resulting in bodily injury or death. The video is for informational/experimental purposes only.

We had an air hose with a threaded fitting on one end, and an air chuck on the other end of a 20 foot hose when I was growing up. It worked like a charm, and payed for itself many times over. When you needed to air up some tires, you popped out a spark plug and screwed the hose in. Thanks for bringing back that forgotten memory.

In the 50s, there was a similar device, sold in catalogues such as JC Whitney, that were meant to attach to one cylinder of an automotive engine.
What I like about your adaptation, is that you added the charcoal filter to clean the air. I also applaud your idea of adding a water separator, because there is normally a fair amount of water in a working engine.
Great idea, and I may adapt an old spark plug and your filter, to make an emergency inflation tool to use with an automotive engine.

This channel doesn't tolerate comments made by wise @ss viewers, or viewers that have nothing better to do with their life besides provoke others. Leaving comments posted by undesirables only encourages others to join in. If you don't like my rules, find another channel to watch.

@@kismetghost People like seeing unusual things done. The title was good.

@@electronicsNmore I didn't disagree with that or mention the title. I, in fact complimented you and said I was only teasing at the video.

@kismetcoyote I'm not mad at your comment. I have so many people posting comments, that I lose track of who's joking around. If you added a smiley face after your comment, it would've made it obvious. Thanks for watching!
