I remember hearing about how in ww1 (I think this may have been easier with ww1 trucks) and ww2 the guys that were driving the trucks would do this in the field when they needed to air up a tire. If memory serves, either the Germans or the Russians built in some kind of bypass into their trucks to isolate however many cylinders (I think they were usually v8's) from the fuel and spark so they could quickly air up tires without needing to take things apart and tools etc. Ever since I heard about them doing this, I've always wanted to learn how to do it myself and now I'm finally giving it a go. My goal is to learn how to rig any car to be a vehicle/ electric generator/ air compressor depending on what's needed. You know, just in case we get an apocalypse or such
I bought a little adapter and hose that was sold to be used in one of the spark plug holes in older cars (over 30 years ago) It did the same thing but had a valve in it to drive a diaphragm in and out for tire pressure.
Vaclife air compressor tire inflator only cost $27 , I wouldn’t do it on any car because it can damage the engine . But what I love about this vedio is the sense of survival mode . If you’re stranded somewhere and you need to get moving and happen to have that tube then yes you can do it and I want to add my own flavor to this awesome recipe, so if you don’t have that long hose , just remove the tire and bring it and put it on top of the engine to get enough air . Also there will be no resistance or weight on the tire so it will get full quickly . Hey tuner you should do it again with the tire on top of the engine or at least jack up the car to help it get done faster
@@NaptownTuner it is entertaining of course but in a survival mode this vedio is seriously helpful . It’s about the knowledge that you can get air out of your engine . The damage depends on so many variables , the driver and the type of vehicle and the cylinder to chose , and I said it can damage the engine,
@STRICTLY AUDIS I was hoping for a better answer than that. I’m not gonna sit here and say it’s just as healthy as a perfectly running engine but if you say it can do damage id like to hear why / how. I could hear someone making an argument for the miss causing extra stress on the crankshaft rod bearings but I don’t know if it would even amount to anything with it not being under load of driving
I don't see how it could be any different than trying to start a vehicle for an hour that isn't getting fuel. I'd hope that engines were designed to handle it.
My truck has been missing for the entire time I've owned it. 50,000 miles later and it's still running like it did the day I bought it. It's one of those issues that multiple mechanics can't figure out, so I have to live with it.
My engine has 2 spark plugs per cylinder . I wonder if I can make one myself . I think if I used a one way check valve to let air in one spark plug hole & another to only let air out . & disconnect the fuel injector .
I thought about doing this years ago , but was worried that my tire would still have explosive air in it , even though injector is disabled. It took much longer than I expected to fill up that tire ..
If you want more creative videos like this help me out with a share.
This is the type of stuff you rarely see on TH-cam. A NaptownTuner speciality.

Well, it worked, but it sure was slow. You’re hilarious! Keep up the good work.
Better slow than not working at all.

Just curious, what is it going to damage and why.
Hopefully it was clear that the video was for entertainment though.

i like your channel. Very underrated tho. I hope you get more subs. Looking forward to your new videos.

Put a check valve between the adapter and hose and it would probably fill faster
You know each tire filled with Honda compression adds 40hp per wheel! Also love the Mercedes-Benz CAI.
That vtec was siiiick

So are you saying that this wont work with my lawn mower. If I used cylinder #4 would it fill up twice as fast as cylinder 2?
You are the Macgyver of Naptown. Lol
That is fucking genius
If you had a truck engine with bigger displacement I bet it would go a lot faster.
Japanese Engineering 😂🔥💪🏼
Interesting
Oh. So THAT"S why they have 3 cylinders and not 2 like my other 2 wheeled, 2 cylinder Honda.
What’s up Naptown!
This is awesome ❤ would get you out in a pinch
lmfao!!!! ive seen it all now hahaha! lets see who many check engine lights come on in my audi if i did that. How long it take to blow up the tire?
😳🤯now that's awesome 👌
I think it's a trick that tire is only flat on the bottom
$1.75 , last week for air at gas station, to turn on machine.
Really Old Cars Actually Had Adaptors For This Because There Weren't Air Compressors Everywhere...
$1 would have filled that tire 10 min ago. I guess if you needed air in an emergency...that would work?
If you can find any human mechanic (Dr)around your area please go and show your self to him.
Thanks for the advice, this isn’t a video for entertainment or anything you know
I'd like to give you the same advice pal,or possibly KAREN ,Nap's the fukin MAN ,show some respect
