    Thanks for the great details about the two types on the market. Really helpful to know 🙏 Now onto an important question... I hear and read a lot of advice for using a mild "soapy water" for cleaning, but no one says what kind of "soap" ? Today a number of soaps are not soap but detergents, which are detrimental to some plants. So, could you please suggest what kind of "soap" to make a solution from ? { like for example, using the classic recipe of olive oil soap ?}

    I have a great idea
    I dont know much about the rapis genus but maybe you can help me
    Imagine crossing the fastest growing rhapis species (in the best case one who doesnt need heat for growth)
    With rhapidophyllum hystrix, a palm from the same sub genus wich originates from south eastern us, which is the cold hardiest palm on earth, even hardier than trachycarpus fortunei.
    The hybrid should be an extremely cold hardy and fast growing palm, with a good growth even in cooler summers.
    This palm could easily survive in moscow

      Toby Santangelo These are beautiful palms/shrubs. They are my favorite. I’m in zone 9/10 in Florida.
      Happy growing!

    Can these grow in full shade ? Little or no sun in a " atrium " type location ?

    Could I put these on a balcony facing east?

    • @4plantz
      @4plantz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can. Morning sun is not as intense as setting and afternoon Sun. As long as it's not too intense you can. Otherwise, they like filtered direct sunlight.

    Can we weave the stems together with rope and a stem in the center? Till when can they be stayed tied up without getting it harmed?

    • @4plantz
      @4plantz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm. Never tried that with Rhapis. We suspect if they're tied in a fashion that 1) doesn't break the stem, and 2) still allows light to reach all the leaves, you should be good-to-go. If you try, please send pics!

    There’s no “f” in the Latin name Rhapis.

    • @4plantz
      @4plantz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct. Rhapis excelsa.
