Our company does a lot of move-out cleanings for apartment complexes. The Property Managers submit our invoices to their corporate office and that’s how we are paid. We have also done some move-out cleans for private landlords who rent out their properties. In our service agreement we always include the fact that the customer will be charged a cancellation fee if there is no running water or electricity upon our arrival and the cleaning will be canceled. Also, when not dealing with a property manager we have customers pay a $50 reservation fee that is included in the total price for the cleaning.
I love that you have these policies in place. It will keep your company from surprises and disappointment and it keeps the customer playing on the same page. High Five!
Do you have alot of success cleaning apartments not dealing with property management and just the individuals? And What do you charge? And are you constantly busy every day?
Another thing to consider: people LOVE to blame damages to the rental properties on a house cleaners when moving out. They tried it so many times on me. Take pictures, ask to sign a satisfaction form, etc. Be prepared. It WILL happen.
This is what I do. I’m a vender with a contracting company that does repairs on houses before they get put back up for rent. I email an invoice in after the job is complete and the company direct deposits the amount within a week.
I rent out my master suite. Took me 6 days to clean as I am older and bad leg. I know there are a lot of people who rent out rooms that could use this service if it was available for just a suite. Still have to do windows but I can't get up on ladder. Going price is $60/hr which is out of my range. Great advice as usual Angela. God bless.
Have you or anyone here tried.any of the window.cleaning kits that you.use.a garden hose with that you stand on the ground and spray clean the windows?.the cleaning solution auto feeds with the water jet from the hose onto the windows. Some require no rinsing. If so please share. thank you.
Coordinating with estate sales companies who can recommend your services can help you market your company as well as coordinating both with real estate agents and large apartment complexes to become their regular clean out company between leases.
Yes, it can be done well if there is a strategic plan in place and the team to deliver the service. For someone new in the business who doesn't yet have their pricing and systems in place, it can be more of a challenge.

@@flyaznguy810 I think that depends on what you like to do. We do alot of floor care and I enjoy it. Infact I spent last night and into early this morning scrubbing tile floors for a major retail store and a local bar I clean. Commercial cleaning is easier I think, then residential, but harder to jobs in.
You may not see this since it was posted a year ago but I've been watching house cleaners videos and most of them say the customer provides cleaning products because you never know preferences, allergies ect. What do you think and should it affect the charge.
When it comes to house cleaning services, some cleaners prefer customers to provide their own cleaning products due to individual preferences, allergies, or sensitivities. This allows for a more tailored cleaning experience. As for charges, it depends on the cleaner or service provider. Some may adjust their pricing to reflect the customer providing the products, resulting in a potentially lower overall cost. However, it's important to discuss this with the cleaner to understand their specific pricing structure. On the other hand, some professional cleaners bring their own supplies for convenience. The decision of who provides the cleaning products can vary, so clear communication is crucial to ensure a satisfactory cleaning service experience.
I bought my first house this year. I hired someone to clean it before I moved in. I told her exactly what I wanted; kitchen top to bottom, bathrooms top to bottom. Don't do carpets as they are getting cleaned professionally. She vacuumed, kinda cleaned the kitchen cabinets and mopped the kitchen floor. She didn't even go upstairs. She was very late showing up and didn't even call to say she was running late. I believe her charge was $140 and she was here for 4 hours. I hate cleaning but even I can do a better job than her. I ended up cleaning again. Never again.
Congratulations on your new home. I'm so excited for you. And I'm mortified at your experience with a house cleaner who did a sloppy half-hearted job. It makes house cleaners everywhere look bad and discourages customers like you from hiring again. I'm so sorry about that. 😰
@@AskAngelaBrown Thank you! 50 years old and my son ended up helping me buy the house. And I will never recommend this person.
