    Hello from the UK. It's not only cleaning products that can cause irritation. For me, if mold spores are disturbed, they enter my lungs and make me very unwell. Fortunately, our home has very little damp but if some appears, my husband removes it. By the way, Angela I really find your vlogs informative and useful.

    It's not exactly the same cause, but my respiratory system became very sensitive after several years of aggressive cancer treatment. It was worth it to get into remission, but I do not use most household cleaners now. I do almost all my cleaning using four things, in various combinations: water, bar soap, baking soda, and vinegar. Hydrogen peroxide for a few things. A bonus is that these tend to be a lot cheaper than getting an oven cleaner, a floor cleaner, a spray-on surface cleaner, a carpet deodorizer, a toilet bowl cleaner, scouring powder, etc. etc. etc. And the hydrogen peroxide I can get through my health insurance benefit for over-the-counter medical supplies.

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The shower ceiling having mold is of great concern. There may be traces of mold in the walls, behind the faucets, in the walls etc. Clorox will kill the surface mold but it will come right back with no open windows or ventilation. I recommend your client immediately invest in a dehumidifier to remove the moisture from the air during and after showers to slow the growth of mold. It could make the family very sick.

    This video was very helpful, thank you for covering mold and mildew! I have a new client who deals with quite a bit of moister in their master bathroom. There is black mold, and Ive done my best with bleach to clean it out and unable to get a steamer at such and early stage in growing my business.
    Other than the hydrogen peroxide sprays, what else can the client use to reduce the amount of moister in their bathroom?
    And, how do I get the black mold out if it is under the calking in the showers and windows?
    Any suggestions would be helpful! And thank you for sharing on this topic!

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The client needs to pay attention to every shower they take. Open windows or turn on the ventilation fan. When getting out of the shower leave the shower door or curtain open so the tub/shower can air out. Squeegee the glass shower doors and floor to remove standing water. And then products like DampRid amzn.to/3uaoU2P or a dehumidifier amzn.to/32Zcq2d to suck moisture out of the air.

      +Classics of Design no, you can just leave it. It’s a spray and walk away item. The secret is to not put it on the faucets and hardware without monitoring it. If you have a coated faucet or a showerhead or drain, the hydrogen peroxide can eat away the finish. Just be careful with that and you should be okay.

      You're welcome and thanks for watching! To remove old urine stains from the underside of a toilet seat, you can try using a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water or a paste made from baking soda and water. Apply the solution or paste to the stains, let it sit, then scrub gently and rinse. Additionally, you can consider using a specialized toilet bowl cleaner formulated for stain and odor removal. Follow the product instructions and ensure proper ventilation. Look for UK-available options like Harpic Power Plus or Domestos Toilet Cleaner.
      If you feel like the toiled seat has been damaged and that nothing is working, it may be best to consider a replacement.

      Dehumidifiers remove moisture from the air. And since mold grows in humid climates removing the moisture can reduce the mold. Can I use the hydrogen peroxide in a marble shower and floors?

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Hydrogen Peroxide is mildly acidic, and prolonged exposure to acidic substances can cause etching (dull spots or marks) on the surface of the marble. To clean marble safely it's best to use pH-neutral and non-abrasive cleaners specifically formulated for marble. They are gentle and won't harm the surface or cause damage. Hope this helps! 😊

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When it comes to using hydrogen peroxide on marble shower and floors, caution is advised. Marble is a delicate and porous natural stone that can be sensitive to certain cleaning agents, including hydrogen peroxide. While hydrogen peroxide is known for its disinfecting properties, its acidic nature can potentially cause damage to marble surfaces, leading to etching, discoloration, or dulling of the finish. It is recommended to avoid using hydrogen peroxide directly on marble. Instead, opt for a pH-neutral, non-abrasive cleaner specifically formulated for marble surfaces. These cleaners are designed to effectively clean marble while preserving its natural beauty. Prior to using any cleaner, it is always wise to test it on a small, inconspicuous area of the marble surface to ensure compatibility and avoid any unwanted damage. Regular maintenance and promptly wiping up spills can help maintain the shine and longevity of your marble shower and floors.

    Is it safe to use hydrogen peroxide on marble tile or travertine tile? I don’t want to damage anything

      Are you talking cultured marble? Cultured marble is approximately 75% marble dust, mixed with a liquid polyester which creates its resin like structure that you see in most homes in bathroom vanities. Yes, hydrogen peroxide 3% is safe to use on both cultured marble and travertine tile since it it's pH level sits around 6 on the pH scale (7 is neutral). Hydrogen peroxide 3% is the common version you find in the brown bottle in most stores - and that is 3% (meaning the other 97% of the bottle is water.)

    Angels , can mold cause sneezing and allergies ??? Such as if mold is in your shower and the steam causes the mold particles to rise up and enter your nostrils ??

      Thank you for your question! Yes, mold can indeed trigger sneezing and allergies. Mold produces tiny airborne spores that, when inhaled, can irritate the nasal passages and lead to allergic reactions

    I was going to mention that swiffer detergent & Lysol wipes smell WAY stronger than dawn, so if dawn bothers her, those will surely be worse.

      That is possible, maybe wearing a mask will help.

    Anyone know where to buy ionized water ? Is it labeled as such or is it called “alkalized” water ? I only see a link to the water ionizer but I am only interested in buying already ionized water which seems pretty reasonable in cost .

      Thank you for your question! Most big retailers should have it in stock in stores or online

      Thanks so much Angela!! But so I look for the drinking water variety that is labeled “Alkaline”? I have not seen anything labeled as ionized water for cleaning in the cleaning supplies section. …
      Also , can you recommend which mold testing kit you would use for testing to see if there is (invisible) mold inside a car ? Please ? I’m being driven crazy by a constant runny nose and sneezing inside the car but not sure if it’s due to dust or mold or both . I have a few times spilled lots of water onto the floor carpets of the car but I don’t see any visible mold and I’ve already changed the car cabin filter without it helping much . 😢

    Are you getting paid from Bissol?

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, Bissell is not a client of ours. We would love to have them as one though. :-) Savvy Cleaner and Hoarding World and Life Long Productions are paying for most of our shows.
