I love Weird Al. I met him in person and he was so nice and calm after performing like a three or four hour show. He was outside his tour bus taking pictures and signing autographs. One of the coolest moments ever!!

I had the same experience! July 19th 2008, One heck of a day! I waited out by his bus with a line of others. Got to meet him, get a picture and I ended up catching the red solo cup from "Smell's like Nirvana" and he signed that for me! It was great! Oh, and my niece was also born that evening as well! LOL!
Yes! I met him outside his tour bus after a show in like 1997. Not to brag, but he told me he loves me (I may have said it first). I also met him at a book signing with my kids. He was more rushed there by the bookstore people but he's a great guy :)
I attended the same church as Weird Al down in LA when I was visiting family. He served communion that day 😆

Actually, the latest picture on his Twitter feed has him with some facial hair, including a small mustache. Definitely not as big as his old one. But the glasses are a definite 80's Al flashback.
Actually, he still sometimes wears one. He normally shaves it off before starting a tour, but he does wear them sometimes. Some of his most recent ones had a mustache and goatee.

I've seen him in concert twice, and met him once when he was in pigeon forge TN for the 2nd concert, he had to be the nicest person i've ever met. Had time for every fan that came up, had a look of just being happy to be doing what he is doing.
"Harvey the Wonder Hamster" is a perennial CLASSIC of a song which, believe it or not, he's performed on a couple episodes of his TV show....

As someone who does a bit of parodying myself, I've found food does seem to be the easiest thing to change lyrics to for some reason, so this is perfect for Thanksgiving.

However, I disagree with you. He is parodying Weird Al attempting to look and sound like him. So, he's parodying Weird Al, parodying other artists. What Penn normally does is parody original artists. This is different.
@Honolulu Blues Not sure how that changes what I wrote. A parody of a parody is still a parody of the original. He even changed one of the songs to part of the original lyrics.

Since my lovely wife first introduced me to the Holderness Family, I certainly noticed the influence of Weird Al on Penn! And I have to say that IMHO, Penn is doing going a Great Job of continuing the Song Parody genera! I personally see Penn as sort of the new Weird Al! I feel so grateful I grew up with a mom that cooked everything from scratch and taught us kids how to cook and bake from scratch, too. Grandma taught cooking to middle grades; back then, 1930's, it was called "Normal School".
Weird Al needs to comment on this one!!! I also love him and cannot hear some of the “real” songs he parodies without thinking of his version…Amish Paradise for example! Yep, definitely a national treasure🥰
I need to take out just the clip about the turkey taking forever. A few years ago (okay like 10 years ago probably) we had a Friendsgiving, and it was the first time we had a whole turkey instead of turkey legs. And the friend in charge of the turkey didn't realize they sell them frozen. So he went out and bought it the morning of. The turkey was, eventually, delicious. And, being wonderful friends, we continue to remind him of this error to this day.
So now Weird Al - the parody maker - has made it to be parodied himself...

I've seen him in concert a few times, met him at my college (his Alma Mater) when he visited his first "studio", I've even seen his school records when I work-studied for the records office of his college (he was a straight A architecture student! I've listened to Weird Al since "My Bologna" and "Another One Rides the Bus"; you did an EXCELLENT parody of the Parody King!
When I was a humor writer for Shoebox Cards (A tiny little division of Hallmark) I got to meet Weird Al. I ran into him in Union Station which is a stone's throw from our headquarters. I offered to bring him over to Hallmark to meet the other writers, but he said he needed to get back to his hotel and get ready for his performance that night. I asked if I could walk with him back to his hotel and he said yes. I got to talk to him for about 10 to 15 minutes. The whole time I was with him I was cognizant of the fact that I was in the presence of a musical genius. When we got to his hotel, the last thing he said to me was "I love Shoebox Cards". It's a memory I'll always treasure!
