YES! I was cringing at the fact that most of them were being so disrespectful towards the tattooing style that literally shaped their entire career. I can guarantee that most of them would give up if tasked to do even a dot on someone's body using this method.

Tattooing is a challenge even with a machine, even harder to achieve results this way, but she absolutely nails it.

I’ve just started practicing on myself. I’ve found it to be really relaxing and a great outlet for my depression. I came here for some inspiration beyond simple line work and I’m blown away by how much you can do with just hand poking. Thanks for sharing your experience here!

I'm a single poke artist as well. I went back to my roots and dropped the machines and am so much happier and my art is better

I bought a poke hand tattoo kit recently for my birthday, haven’t used it yet I have been researching before I do my first tattoo by myself
All my other family has tattoos they bought from an tattoo artist, I wanted to be different and do tattoo myself
That's great!! Also you don't have to deal with paying over 100 dollars to get one, you can do it yourself 😅

Secondly - The Vignettes - i just saw all you documentary, i just wanted to se stuff about handpoking tattoos but i really really enjoyed you short film, and could get enough of the way you made this(And i normally doesnt comment on stuff so i'm not just kiddin') - But have u made more under another name or something? These documentaries.. Like fuck.. Amazing! keep up the good work

I always struggle with a machine, and it also takes a tole on me and actually question myself. “Can I actually do this? Am I capable to be a Tattoo Artist?” Now I’m thinking of just doing stick and poke because it’s where I’m most comfortable and I’m most confident in, but I’m worried people won’t take me as serious as a Tattoo Artist and won’t gain customers. I’m on the fence of just tossing my dreams aside, or keep going and do what’s best for me.
keep practicing whatever makes you happy.. don't think about customers, they will come, but keep practicing, that's the secret.. keep learning and express yourself through your art.. good luck
