    Dear Marisa, an update: I've made several trousers for myself from this drafting system, they fit and hang perfectly. AND I've used the same formula to make pants for two female friends - I made sure that the initial measurements were accurate and the results were perfect the first time without any need to make adjustments. Brilliant. Thanks again for your helpful videos.

    This is so well presented and easy to follow. Great Job!! In developing a pattern is there a way to account for much larger muscular legs than normal? The person i want to make a pattern for has to buy a waist size 4inches larger to account for leg size. This really was so helpful.

      Hi! You could adjust the pattern based in your desired body measurements. Thank you!

    I'm going to try this. But I'm confused as to the bottom width division between front and back. If I've already used 1/2 of my bottom circumference, am I not increasing this circumference by 1 1/2 inches by what is added on to the back side seams? Would it be better to subtract the 1 1/2 inches from the front to begin with?

    • @merisacarlosbantugan
      @merisacarlosbantugan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! The bottom width of the back is bigger than the front because of additional 3/4" on both sides. If you want to use your own width in the back part, it's ok, you just use bottom width ÷ 2 minus 1 1/2" afterall you will add 3/4" on both sides. Thank you! I hope it helps!

      @@merisacarlosbantugan This is what I ended up doing and it worked out just right. I'm sewing a trouser right now from your pattern draft instructions (and I made a muslin and did some changes in the crotch area because there wasn't enough ease and was slightly twisting the side seams inward). The result is the best fitting trouser I have ever made (and I've made quite a few). Thank you for your method and your clear instructions.

    If the crotch length is 10 inches, why did you go up 1 inch past the waist??? To me you would be loosing 1 inch from the crotch. Can u explain please😊
