Such an awesome song I remember getting this CD at Mardels the old Christian book / music store as a kid and I been loving it since almost 20 years ago now what a classic !
I agree too. I love this song and there sequel, my will be a dead man. I haven't been able to find the music video since seeing it on the U satellite channel.
I love how this was their first single with a new record label after the turmoil with their old record lable. "We dont need no truthless heroes" is such a good middle finger line lol
Was the first time I heard of Project 86. Local channel that had a hour long show showing Christian Rock. I tuned in right when video started and then after video was when I found out it was Christian Rock, and I’m like am I getting Punked, no way that can be Christian music, been a big Project 86 fan since then
I went to a music event yester day, I was in the mech'-tent yesterday @ 5 0clock,but they played @ 4 0clock I was holding an album and said. "Aw I missed these guys!" So the guy standing next to me said "No. You missed us" It was Josh, the guitarist. That was awesome!
There are certain songs where the first couple of seconds of the song get you fired up to hear it again every single time. You could be having the worst day ever and hear the first few notes and suddenly you are in the mood for the whole 3 minute experience. "One Last Disguise" its that.
I hope that you guys see this and read this just because you have hip hop and rap and pop and J-pop crap like that doesn't mean you can't like this everybody says oh iMovie pop person than I am original and that's bad original the stronger original is topic unless you want me my mom and if you guys don't like it that's I don't care no those of you who do like it you guys should leave off like it won't waste any of your time cuz it's just a simple touch or click so yeah so you guys can go listen to crap music go listen to some devil
What on earth did you just say? Was that even English? Try using a period for the love of all that is sacred. If you'll excuse me, I have to take a little break, because my brain is hurting from trying to comprehend that.
this song particularly, but the whole album, got me through my transition from the Navy to Civilian life... I took work in a garage and scratched the CD early on right as this song comes on... i forgot what this sound like without a constant tick in the intro... thanks guys- you helped save me ... alll those years ago thanks youtube. for fixing that skip LoL
I remember just scrolling through the channels on tv and this video was just starting, fell in love with it first time watching and then found out this was Christian rock band and I was like no way. Was a freshman in high school. Now own Truthless Heroes, Songs to Burn Your Bridges By, The Rest Will Follow sampler and Album, Rivial Factions, and got special bundle for Picket Fence Cartel where I got the original version of Songs to Burn Your Bridges By, T-shirt and dog tag of Picket Fence Cartel and the album itself
the first time a saw this was on a DVD I got from my local skate shop. I believe it was called FLO it was packed with a bunch of dope ass skate, bike and snowboarding footage. So glad I finally found this!
Checking in 2022, used to love this song when I was a teenager, then at some time in life my brain decided we’d forget about this band. But then today I pulled out an old cd case...and now I’m back baby!
I couldn't remember their band name for the longest. I just took the time and searched all popular Christian Rock Bands from 2005 & all of the best were up there and look whoo I find!!! The band and song I've been searching for forever with only the memory of the album cover...Im beyond excited!!!!
Ok...I have heard this song on Pandora radio and decided to check them out. I went to Spotify and listened to more of their tunes...awesome band no doubt. Kinda reminds me of Clutch.
Andrew's been speaking about Jesus Christ for decades now. Look up his ministry and his poetry as well. VERY very very in-depth stuff. I respect Andrew Schwab so much for how he is so unapologetic about his faith. I heard somewhere that they've turned down several contracts from high up record labels who were willing to sign them but they would have to stop preaching on stage and curtail their message from Christian themes
This was one of the first shows I ever went to at a multi million dollar church where the pastor drove a brand new Corvette and constantly talked about being modest. Epic band. Epic album. Takes me right back to when I was 12 and gave up religion.
Good stuff man. Hey bro, don't let that experience sway your decision. There is something deeper in this world, the thing is, these ass clowns at your local " six flaggs over Jesus! " ain't it. Ya gotta seperate yourself from the pack and find it yourself. Like me, I grew up a metal guy, ( still am!), but somehow, a day came when I found myself in a little country church, situations beyond my control maybe, listening to " the old rugged cross! ". That spoke to me more than any damn trendy mega church ever did. They gave me a normal cup of black coffee and sang the old hymnals. Not the Latte' and the bells and whistles. From there I had to get honest with myself. Anyway, God meets us half way, so we gotta do our half. To easy. Take care man.
Lyrics One last disguise Pawns standing in awe Of the game Of the stage You've worked so hard to build an empire Of secret rooms in display to yourself And add to your wealth The sting of... Oh, it stings When I saw it all come crashing I witnessed the sound of a million voices Screaming for public hanging So hide, so, hide hide yourself for now (for now)(Chorus) When the world's a target For humanity's market And all of it's sold for a dime I've seen the towers of gods And the power of men In disguises of the worst kind I am the words of the page I am the death among life today I am the voice of one among the silent Who's tired of burning among the flames So hide, so, hide hide yourself for now (for now)(Chorus) Chorus-So hide yourself for now But we caught you plotting murder And now the tide is turning We'll light our souls We'll heat our bones Upon your empire burning I do not need anymore truthless heroes We don't need no truthless heroes I need truth!
I was this bands hugest fan 15 years ago. Tried to go to a concert in Nashua, NH but they wouldn't let us in because we were under 21 and it was at a bar. I died a little that day.
Once upon a time, Andrew punched me square in the face by accident while I was front row at an Icthus concert to this song and it only made me a bigger fan.
pawns standing in the awe of the game of the stage we worked so hard@ building an empire of secret rooms to display yourself and add to your wealth the sting of. Oh it stings when i saw it all come crashing I witnessed the sound of a million voices screaming for public hanging.
The only thing I actually liked watching on Sky Angel honestly. Discovered so many fantastic and underrated bands through them. Still listen to most of them too.
well, they do, for one. That's why they're doing what they do. I'm glad you like the music, listen to the message in it, you might find you like it too :)
First Project 86 song I ever heard. So dope. First saw the video on JCTV about a decade ago. Anyone know if they're still together? What other songs of theirs is this good?
They've released 7 albums since this one and they're newest (Sheep Among Wolves) is great! They also released a live album about 5 years ago called "15". That's a good place to start for more fan favorites.
@VietnamsMonkey that's because my will be a dead man is the sequel to the video. notice how he's got a huge bandage around his middle at the beginning?
2024 and still rocking out to this song
Same brother, jesus saves.
More reason in 2024 than ever before.
Such an awesome song I remember getting this CD at Mardels the old Christian book / music store as a kid and I been loving it since almost 20 years ago now what a classic !

I love this song and there sequel, my will be a dead man.
I haven't been able to find the music video since seeing it on the U satellite channel.
Un hombre manco sigue en juego también es muy buena canción. Es la mejor del grupo a mi gusto. One-Armed man (play on)
Agree 100%
Heck ya as a kid I listened now I am thank my dad for being a youth pastor lol
Pay close attention to the drummer in the first half of the video. That's the face of a man who loves his job.
Yeah he looks like he's having a ball
I love how this was their first single with a new record label after the turmoil with their old record lable. "We dont need no truthless heroes" is such a good middle finger line lol
Still as awesome as the day they cut it. And just as true. About everything. Religion, politics, everything.
Man, this is still probably my favorite Project 86 song after all these years. This entire album was dang good too.
agreed
First Project 86 song I heard.

this song still rocks as hard as I remember it.
It really does.

Still in 2018
What on earth did you just say? Was that even English? Try using a period for the love of all that is sacred. If you'll excuse me, I have to take a little break, because my brain is hurting from trying to comprehend that.
the lead signer spoke at my high school 2 years ago... great Christian testimony
Love this song. I remember seeing it on some Christian rock channel me and my brother use to watch back in the day. So glad I found it again.
I saw it on some Christian music channel but don't remember the name of it.
Same
Its called Steelroots. It was with subseven, underoath, emery and other bands
this song particularly, but the whole album, got me through my transition from the Navy to Civilian life... I took work in a garage and scratched the CD early on right as this song comes on... i forgot what this sound like without a constant tick in the intro...

I grew up listening to this! I always loved the heavier stuff. Definitely paved the way to the music I listen to now
Heard pieces of this in my head randomly... haven't heard this song in a decade - FINALLY FOUND IT!
I couldn't remember their band name for the longest. I just took the time and searched all popular Christian Rock Bands from 2005 & all of the best were up there and look whoo I find!!! The band and song I've been searching for forever with only the memory of the album cover...Im beyond excited!!!!

Anyone else still here in 2021? Fantastic song, fantastic band!
Awesome Song! Crystian Metal of Quality!
Steelroots with Danny Castillo as host brought me here.
I just got this album today with there autographs for a 1 and it was worth it
Yep. I heard him profess his faith in Jesus last night in concert. He's awesome.
Andrew's been speaking about Jesus Christ for decades now. Look up his ministry and his poetry as well. VERY very very in-depth stuff. This was one of the first shows I ever went to at a multi million dollar church where the pastor drove a brand new Corvette and constantly talked about being modest. Epic band. Epic album. Takes me right back to when I was 12 and gave up religion.
Best thing I ever did was leave the cult of christianity.

Igual esta muy infravalorado, es un temazo
Lyrics
One last disguise
Pawns standing in awe
Of the game
Of the stage
You've worked so hard to build an empire
Of secret rooms in display to yourself
And add to your wealth
The sting of...
Oh, it stings
When I saw it all come crashing
I witnessed the sound of a million voices
Screaming for public hanging
So hide, so, hide hide yourself for now (for now)(Chorus)
When the world's a target
For humanity's market
And all of it's sold for a dime
I've seen the towers of gods
And the power of men
In disguises of the worst kind
I am the words of the page
I am the death among life today
I am the voice of one among the silent
Who's tired of burning among the flames
So hide, so, hide hide yourself for now (for now)(Chorus)
Chorus-So hide yourself for now
But we caught you plotting murder
And now the tide is turning
We'll light our souls
We'll heat our bones
Upon your empire burning
I do not need anymore truthless heroes
We don't need no truthless heroes
I need truth!
I was this bands hugest fan 15 years ago. Tried to go to a concert in Nashua, NH but they wouldn't let us in because we were under 21 and it was at a bar. I died a little that day.

First Project 86 song I ever heard. So dope. First saw the video on JCTV about a decade ago. Anyone know if they're still together? What other songs of theirs is this good?
V.E.G.A yeah they are still together. Fall Goliath Fall is a newer song by them that’s good.
They've released 7 albums since this one and they're newest (Sheep Among Wolves) is great!
They also released a live album about 5 years ago called "15". That's a good place to start for more fan favorites.
They have song called Evil that's good.
So that's where they got the album art
I used to watch this video on JCTV when I was in prison
