Chrono trigger donkey Kong country to Mario all stars, Mario world, Mario, RPG and Zelda a Link to the past a really tough to beat. And I’m a humongous Sega and sonic fan too. I think they have just as many hits.
Not sure about the lower ranks of the list, but you could throw any of Super Mario RPG, Earthbound, Terranigma, Secret of Mana, Star Fox, Pilotwings, Kirby Superstar, Super Aleste, R-Type III into the list...
My top 20: 1. Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen 2. Super Mario World 3. Super Baseball 2020 4. Bassin’s Black Bass 5. NBA Jam: Tournament Edition 6. Earthbound 7. Chrono Trigger 8. Super Mario Kart 9. Sim City 10. Sunset Riders 11. Zelda: Link to the Past 12. Super Metroid 13. Secret of Mana 14. NHL ‘97 15. Super Mario All-Stars 16. Mega Man X 17. Soul Blazer 18. TMNT: Turtles in Time 19. Final Fantasy IV 20. Super Mario RPG
Where is Starfox / Starwing?, I still like to play that once in a while even now and it was the pack in game when I purchased my Snes back in the day, I think people forget how impressive it was to see such a game on a console back then and it is actually a good game and not just a tech demo.
Playing together was key for me, Super tennis, super soccer, pefect eleven, sf2 turbo, mortal kombat, killer instinct, mario kart. What an epic games library. All on ntsc ofcourse 20% faster hehe
Thanks for including my comment! It is somewhat surprising that Starfox/Starwing didn't make the list, but as you said in another comment, it wound up finishing 21st, so there's that. The reason I said it's somewhat surprising? There's just way too many damn good games for the SNES!
Super Mario World at #1 was a little surprising to me. It was an awesome game (top 5 for sure), but I thought Super Metroid and Link to the Past were better games.
"Still playin' F-Zero to this very day, dude! True 16-bit power mixed with the awesomeness of some super scaling effects that only the Super Nintendo can do!" (read this with same emphasis of a 90s dude into a commercial 🤣) Quite surprised to see "Ninja Warriors Again" here, because...yeah, it plays stiffy for my taste!
VERY surprised by some of the inclusions here! I've been a long-time fan of games by Natsume since the NES... And here we have 3 of the (brilliant) games they've made! My favorite must be Wild Guns...! Very much surprised of seeing Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island in such a lower level, in the 19th place... But I think the original Super Mario World has a seriously deserved first place, and I can acknowledge that. I didn't rank it in my Top 5 because I know how staple it is in people's minds. Also, it's fairly noticeable that it is a game that took to Nintendo the most of the time alongside the development of the Super Nintendo. Then, it is fair enough earning the 1st place. It's a stunning game, brilliantly conceived. As for the biggest surprising letdowns: not seeing Starfox being regarded as one of the 20 best games was something of a letdown. (Now I've seen in the previous comment that it earned the 21st place, surpassed surprisingly by U.N. Squadron!) And ActRaiser as well! Thanks for including my comments for my beloved games The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Super Metroid!
There is no Killer Instinkt?)) Wel ok.. But also very underraited game is - Big Sky Trooper - science fiction RPG game +/- like Star Control or Mass Effect)
Which was the game you thought would be included but didn't make the list? I can think of quiet a few acclaimed games that weren't here - Super Mario RPG, Secret of Mana, ActRaiser, Earthbound, Aladdin, Super Star Wars, Demon Crest, Donkey Kong Country 3, Kirby Super Star, I could go on.
for me chrono trigger is still top 1, zelda top 2, i can't understand how secret of mana, secret of evermore and other rpg cannot be in, its very better than simple fight game
I was sitting here trying to guess which one got left off the list... Starfox? Secret of Mana? Earthbound? Super Mario RPG? I feel like all of those should've been included.
@@brendanroberts1310 i agree. i tried playing it recently on my SNES emulator and i came to conclusion that if it had come out today i dont think it would be popular when compared to the games on this list had they been also released today
As someone who played 90% of these (and then some) growing up then again many years later this is a pretty weird user voted list. Some great games missing and some not so great games made the list. Also the placement for some of these was horrible.
RPGs aren't everyone's cup of tea. CT did manage to make it to the top of all RPGs on the list, so that's something. Personally I was never a fan of RPGs on consoles. I preferred to play them on PCs or micros.
U.N squadron is one of my most hated snes games. In it's place is batman returns for me missing on the list. Instead of Axeley I would prefer R-Type. All other titles have a right to be here! Only one game shouldn't be here, maybe. Mario All-Stars(a super compilation and graphicly fine) isn't a original game for me because it's only a compilation of Nes/famicom games(Mario lost levels is a graphicly polished Mario2 japanese famicom release only)on Snes graphics.
Solid list overall, although the top3 was quite predictable. I'm glad Axelay made it to the list, even though I didn't vote for it (maybe I should have). I was surprised to see Ninja Warriors, I didn't think it had such a following. I hope you will do the same for other systems, I suggest the Master System
Yeah, not quite sure how half the games got on the top ten let alone top 20, but at least you got 5 of the top 10. Super Castlevania IV should have been higher and Super Mario World should have been a bit lower. Where is Mega Man X, The greatest of all Mega Man games!?
@@TheLairdsLair Haha! I can! We’d have to take a vote too for there to be vote! I am not overly serious! Some of those games are fun but I also come at it from an artistic view, too! I like a game that is fun, but doesn’t look like it was just thrown together, plus something with Good control and story. For example, If you actually look at the effects in a game like Mortal Kombat for instance , the characters are motion captured, but the actual graphical effects look like they were put together as an afterthought and don’t compare to a lot of the other talent on the list . My view, therefore is based more on fact than opinion. Thank you for the video though. God bless you friend!
Super Mario RPG will always be my favorite SNES game, it's such a masterpiece.
Probably my favorite as well
Chrono trigger donkey Kong country to Mario all stars, Mario world, Mario, RPG and Zelda a Link to the past a really tough to beat. And I’m a humongous Sega and sonic fan too. I think they have just as many hits.
If your a fan of RPGs like me then this console had some of the best of all time
Secret of Mana, Super punchout, Mario RPG, And Star fox would all be in my top 20.
You ever play the translation of the sequel to Secret of Mana
Killer Instinct should be on that list. Awesome game.

I'm just happy that FFVI was included. Shoulda been higher on the list though
I played through that game on the game boy advance but I regret it now because the SNES version is better
Where is Starfox / Starwing?, I still like to play that once in a while even now and it was the pack in game when I purchased my Snes back in the day, I think people forget how impressive it was to see such a game on a console back then and it is actually a good game and not just a tech demo.
And we have a winner! That's the obvious missing game I mentioned!
Star Fox finished in 21st place, just 1 point behind U.N. Squadron.
And to think I was gonna say Pilotwings.
I was a bit surprised that didn't make it too, along with Actraiser.
As always, thanks for the group link 👍🏻
Playing together was key for me, Super tennis, super soccer, pefect eleven, sf2 turbo, mortal kombat, killer instinct, mario kart. What an epic games library. All on ntsc ofcourse 20% faster hehe
Finally someone acknowledges PLOK!!!
Starfox is odd not making the list & definitely surprised not seeing MK II here either.
Agreed. No Starfox? That's a testament as to how many good titles there were for the console.
Not seeing Star Fox is odd, but MK2 on the SNES is all kinds of 'meh' IMO.
@@xxnoxx-xp5blits the best version from that time

1.chrono trigger
2.link to past
3. Super metriod
4.super mario world
5. Earthbound
Biggest surprise which didn't make the list for me was.. Mega Man X!
Me go the 🐐
Super Mario kart race on SNES is my favorite game.
Super Mario world on snes is my favorite game.
Legend of Zelda link to the past on SNES is my favorite game.
Super Mario all stars on SNES is my favorite game.
Yes donkey Kong country 2 on SNES is my favorite game.
Great video, some very happy gaming memories in there👍👍
Super Metroid on snes is my favorite game.
Donkey kong country is my favorite game on snes.
Secret of Mana and Earthbound are for sure missing from the list. Killer Instinct and NHL 97 were also very good games.
Teenage age mutant Ninja Turtles in Time is my favorite game on snes.
Well I go for batman forever and super Mario world and Combatribes and super street fighter 2 the new challenge.
Can't really argue with that list, every one a banger as the kids say 😂👍 So many more great titles too ✌️

Also remembering here Mother 2/ Earthbound not being included. Was it remembered overall?
It definitely got votes, I can't recall what place it finished as I am away on holiday for a week and don't have the list to hand.
No pilot wings? Thats surprising. No StarFox either.
Surprised Mortal Komat, and Star Fox weren't in the list.
The original Mortal Kombat didn't get a single vote. Star Fox missed out on the top 20 by just one point!
The megadrive version is the mortal kombat with the gore so that is the conversion that most people rate.
Chrono trigger at 8 is insaneeeee best game ever
I didn't vote as I couldn't pick 5. My top two are Kirby's Dream Course and Simcity. The list reminds me of what I could have picked.
There is no Killer Instinkt?)) Wel ok..
But also very underraited game is - Big Sky Trooper - science fiction RPG game +/- like Star Control or Mass Effect)
Surprised Secret of Mana and Starfox didn't make the list.
It just missed out, it was twenty-something in the Top 40.
Oh yeah yoshi island world on snes is my favorite game.
Kirby Super Star and Kirby’s Dreamland 3!

I'm guessing you didn't read the other comments . . . . it was Starfox.
Based on your taste. For me K INSTINCT was 1st on that top.
None of this list is based on my taste, if it was there would be no Mario or Zelda for a start . . . . .
No Starfox? it was massive at the time.
Not my thing, but if you’re talking about big SNES games it has to be in the conversation.
That was the surprise omission I spoke about in the intro, it finished in 21st place.
I think it's to do with this list being done retrospectively and starfox not holding up as well today as other games.

I didn't notice any regional trends, which I do see sometimes.

Nope, Starfox
what about micromachines and super pinball … I spent years playing these
