He should still be german. All that mayan sorcerer stuff only happened because of the rumors coming true, which Nyarlathotep only made happen in 1999 (the year this game takes place). Besides, there’s now the new timeline after this game’s ending, and since the In Lak’ech was never written in that new timeline, the rumor of Hitler being a sorcerer was never spread, so he was never retroactively made one
Tatsuya is truly the most based protag on the series. Fucks his way to top and makes everyone fall head over heels for him, does a mean motorcycle impression, fist fights super wizard Hitler in the realm of the unconscious mind and doesn’t afraid of anything. Bravo, Tadashi
The Motorcycle impression is probably the most BASED part of him Like, dude just pulls out a mic with its stand out of nowhere and makes an accurate motorcycle sounds.
Philemon is the reason Igor always says "Welcome to THE Velvet Room," and doesn't refer to it as HIS Velvet Room. Except in 5, but there's good reason for that, of course.
the fact that tatsuya's way of expressing his feelings has always been to fiddle with jun's lighter is what makes me love those two being together so much. even if neither of them remembers anything, neither of them can forget that lighter

52:00 One of my favorite aspects of Persona 2 is the attention to detail, pretty much every time the "plot progresses" almost every NPC in every map has new dialogue, it foreshadows a bunch of things but is almost all skippable. There's a really sweet plot point with Katsuya, where at first he hears the rumors of the 5 people spotted near the scenes of the explosions, realizes it's Tatsuya, and just kind of tells him to go away, thinking his brother is a criminal but loving him too much to pursue it. But later on, when you tell the kids to tell everyone that you were actually the ones who saved them, Katsuya is smiling when you see him and says that their dad would be proud of him, a girl nearby says that she saw Katsuya watching the news and that when he realized Tatsuya wasn't the criminal he looked so relieved he almost cried. And this entire subplot is entirely missable, the attention to detail is impeccable.

you have no idea how happy lots of persona fans are that you'd give P2 a shot. Too many people look at the duology and say "eh they look too old, i'll skip them", depite them having the best writing in the series. Thank you for giving these two great games a chance.
@RAYHAN REHEMA PUTRA "mid game"? you've clearly never played it. The duology are the best written games in all of megaten. Yes, the gameplay is turn your brain off easy, but so is P5.
@RAYHAN REHEMA PUTRA It doesn’t need side quests like the later games because it’s not a stupid calendar system game. It’s a different era of JRPGs, and it still stands up better than any other persona games. Just because it’s not as flashy as the later ones, that doesn’t make it bad. High encounter rate is just a mild annoyance, because it’s so easy to body them. Cards aren’t an issue either once you know how to do demon talk with the specific ones. Also P5 is equally as easy, if not moreso than the PSP P2’s
@RAYHAN REHEMA PUTRA "The game doesn't even challenging". Yeah, I think you never played Eternal Punishment. The difficulty spike is a bit cruel in that one, pretty realistic since it's an all adult casts lmao

Fun fact:- If you pay close attention to the music playing during "Maya's death" you can hear the the inspiration behind Swear to my bones/ Hoshi to Bokurato The composer even specifically mentioned the song in particular in an interview I think Plus with the wholemask concept and colours of both games being red, I'd say p5 really was made with respect for its older titles including 1 &2
P5 is definately closer to 1 and 2 in some aspects, like having the shadows look like the personas instead of whatever they where on 3 and 4, the negotiation with shadows is also closer to 1 and 2 as well.
With Royal I coulda swore we were *this close* to doing something with Nyarlathotep again... Azathoth being tangentially tied to P2 would've been cool, but oh well I'm still happy the eldritch vibes were included lol
Ironically it kinda plays out where Joker is the good guy in 5... and in the dub Joker and Tatsuya may have issues at first. Tatsuya wouldn't trust someone named Joker.. and Joker wouldn't trust Tatsuya's voice. That's not even touching on returning tothe lovecraftian mythos
5:21 The Reason why Orpheus has Fire skills is because if you look into the mythology of Orpheus he has a father they differ in the version of the story Orpheus. Orpheus father is Oeagrus a Thracian King and another version of Orpheus Father is Apollo the Ultimate Persona of Tatsuya Suou and Apollo had his Lyre which is a gift from Hermes and then Apollo gave his Lyre to Orpheus his son and that's why the reason Orpheus has fire skills in the SMT Series is because his father is Apollo
Fun fact about the Angel Joker fight, there was supposed to be 2 different fights depending on whether you spread a rumour that Joker was either an angel or a demon.
WOOOO YEAH!! I consider Persona 2 to be old school Persona at its peak, and especially the remakes are really good! Loved all your reactions to this game, and can't wait for Eternal Punishment. (Hopefully)
Let’s go, this duology is not only my favorite game in the series, but honestly my favorite game ever. No video game story has ever affected me as much as playing through it the first time. Gameplay is very addicting too and the difficulty is perfect imo (especially EP, brutally hard but still manageable). I basically love everything about these two games, hope you enjoy it too!
Since you didn't play the 1st game, you missed the introduction of Igor in that game. It's explained that he's a doll given a soul by Philemon. He's Igor's mom AND dad.
I get the feeling Persona 2 duology is like the black sheep among the series because you have people in the current Persona fanbase wailing that there aren't any adult persona users even though there are yet these people don't want to check it out cause it's old
As much as I love the modern Persona games, I do kind of love how wacky Persona 2's story gets with the rumours coming true and the fake Hitler. Future games should bring some of that energy back. Also, the balls on Tatsuya just smacking literal God in the face. That automatically makes him the best Persona protag, right?
Ah yes. Innocent Sin, love that game. Love that story. Love the hitler-jesus-joker-lovecraftian amalgamation like the plot equivalent of the world’s wildest fruit salad
Welcome to "what happened if SMT made a persona game". So yeah, it was an acid trip just like SMT but it has some emotional human to human moment, just like Persona. There's a reason why people beg for the old games especially P2 duology for a recognition after all. Playing them backwards felt pretty funny as well since I thought the "true self shadow" concept was from P3's the answer at first until I played P1 and P2. Hell, Metis and Teddie being able to use a Persona are not so weird after playing those two games. Also my reaction to Master 18 skills was "DAMN HE GOT HASSOU TOBI"
Really enjoyed the streams! It's been a while since you played P3, but they actually mention the Nanjo Group there. That's how the Kirijo Group got started, by splitting off from them.
Always glad to see more people aware there are other Persona games than just 3-5, and rumor has it the PSP version of 2 is worth giving a shot The sin was innocent, but will the punishment be eternal?
That one part about halfway through where *spoilers* drop down from the sky still has me absolutely cackling, the confused jamming mixed with the looks of shock is such a 10/10 stream moment Can't wait for the EP video :)

I knew a few spoilers for p2 but getting all the context and watching you get out theorized by ms.Ideal was great. Im really looking forward to the Eternal Punishment video now. I honestly gotta thank you for these playthroughs because I'd never get around to playing the p2 games and now after watching you go through every conceivable emotion theyve quickly become number 2 on my persona ranking overall. Forreal your persona streams and videos have been my highlight the past year and I hope the journey has been just as fun for you 👏🏼
honestly i think he's the best written silent protagonist i've ever seen. All gameplay aspects of a silent protagonist play into his actual personality. He's quiet and distances himself from others due to social trauma from incidents where his persona has appeared without him wanting it. We make his choices for him because he's very indecisive, as we see in the opening with him discussing his career with Ms. Saeko. I thiiink there's a couple of other things too, but it's been a few years since i've played.
It always makes me happy seeing people play Persona 2. It was especially entertaining watching you play blind. It really emphasized the mind-fuckery of this game. I wish Atlus would do a remake. Fun fact, if you romance Lisa and import your save data to the PSP version of Eternal Punishment, Tatsuya in EP will call her Ginko (or so I've heard)
I realize I'll come off as a sweaty nerd making this comment but if anyone hasn't looked up what the actual Pliades (or seven sisters) look like, do it! It is a GORGEOUS star cluster wrapped around in a reflection nebula and it looks so goshdarn beautiful!
i actually managed to see them with the naked eye in my backyard, even just as a little blob of white dots with my shitty eyesight they were breathtaking!
Ommggg I literally was watching the full playthrough on your channel a couple days ago!! It took me like 2 days and I skipped some of the combat but I loved watching it I'm going to try do it for Eternal Punishment but I think I should pace myself this time

Also P5 is equally as easy, if not moreso than the PSP P2’s
@rayhanrehemaputra1719 it's mid game, but story is legit masterpiece
@RAYHAN REHEMA PUTRA "The game doesn't even challenging". Yeah, I think you never played Eternal Punishment. The difficulty spike is a bit cruel in that one, pretty realistic since it's an all adult casts lmao
@RAYHAN REHEMA PUTRA adding "by fact" doesn't make it a fact. That's not how that works you donut lmao. That's still a subjective take by nature.
When did this clownfoonery start? You can't just add that and boom it's objective fact. Mental gymnastics at its finest. Sheesh.
Normal play: Cure the poison effect.
Crystaahhl play: U can’t be poisoned if ur dead
Fun fact:- If you pay close attention to the music playing during "Maya's death" you can hear the the inspiration behind Swear to my bones/ Hoshi to Bokurato
The composer even specifically mentioned the song in particular in an interview I think
Plus with the wholemask concept and colours of both games being red, I'd say p5 really was made with respect for its older titles including 1 &2
P5 is definately closer to 1 and 2 in some aspects, like having the shadows look like the personas instead of whatever they where on 3 and 4, the negotiation with shadows is also closer to 1 and 2 as well.
With Royal I coulda swore we were *this close* to doing something with Nyarlathotep again... Azathoth being tangentially tied to P2 would've been cool, but oh well I'm still happy the eldritch vibes were included lol
@@CelestiaLily I mean, he is Nyarly's grand daddy, makes sense XD
@@Tri2TT GrandNyarly
Ironically it kinda plays out where Joker is the good guy in 5... and in the dub Joker and Tatsuya may have issues at first. Tatsuya wouldn't trust someone named Joker.. and Joker wouldn't trust Tatsuya's voice. That's not even touching on returning tothe lovecraftian mythos
8:20 when she said she was starting a rumor that persona 3 remake was happening and then it DID come true 0_0
8:19 Can't believe rewatching this video made me realize that Crystaaahhl predicted the future...
Fellas, is it gay to exchange mementos and make a promise to keep each other in your hearts forever (in front of what looks like a bridal boutique)?
No.
Sh0eOnHead video intensifies
5:21 The Reason why Orpheus has Fire skills is because if you look into the mythology of Orpheus he has a father they differ in the version of the story Orpheus. Orpheus father is Oeagrus a Thracian King and another version of Orpheus Father is Apollo the Ultimate Persona of Tatsuya Suou and Apollo had his Lyre which is a gift from Hermes and then Apollo gave his Lyre to Orpheus his son and that's why the reason Orpheus has fire skills in the SMT Series is because his father is Apollo
8:20
Your rumor came to fruition!!!
Fun fact about the Angel Joker fight, there was supposed to be 2 different fights depending on whether you spread a rumour that Joker was either an angel or a demon.
'It can't be Fire that breaks the persona code'
P2 Laughs in Gay Option
WOOOO YEAH!! I consider Persona 2 to be old school Persona at its peak, and especially the remakes are really good! Loved all your reactions to this game, and can't wait for Eternal Punishment. (Hopefully)
Let’s go, this duology is not only my favorite game in the series, but honestly my favorite game ever. No video game story has ever affected me as much as playing through it the first time. Gameplay is very addicting too and the difficulty is perfect imo (especially EP, brutally hard but still manageable). I basically love everything about these two games, hope you enjoy it too!
8:23 Welp, guess the rumors really do work lol
god i love how indecipherable this story is
Since you didn't play the 1st game, you missed the introduction of Igor in that game. It's explained that he's a doll given a soul by Philemon. He's Igor's mom AND dad.
why don’t we see more of him?
@Plaguecoric After Eternal Punishment he leaves for Milk.
Watching this a year later ..
8:20 The prophecy is real man
(Persona 3 Reload is now a thing)
11:20 all the portraits above dialogue in this game are amazing. So many really great expressions and stuff.
Video drops literally a day after I beat the game myself and am catching up on the vods... The timing couldn't be better, can't wait to check this out
same, what a coincidence. I wanted to finish the game before watching the VODS but now this video came out at just the right time
You are the Perfect Voice for Mitsugi! Gives the Best Vibe
She needs to be voiced by You in Persona2: Dancing out the Depression
Mitsugi is adorable she needs more love
I get the feeling Persona 2 duology is like the black sheep among the series because you have people in the current Persona fanbase wailing that there aren't any adult persona users even though there are yet these people don't want to check it out cause it's old
I always get the complaint that it's too grindy. Which is fair, but you don't care if you're used to it
They also forget king DILF Zenkichi
As much as I love the modern Persona games, I do kind of love how wacky Persona 2's story gets with the rumours coming true and the fake Hitler. Future games should bring some of that energy back. Also, the balls on Tatsuya just smacking literal God in the face. That automatically makes him the best Persona protag, right?
Or worse considering he technically destroyed himself from the timeline right? The ending and ep are confusing
atlus: maaaaannnnn we HATE these games!!
also atlus: doesn't remake the game to be better
24:16 the same reaction I had "Are you saying I'm poor!?" "Oh, pff, sorry to bother you sir, I'll be going now"
Ah yes. Innocent Sin, love that game. Love that story. Love the hitler-jesus-joker-lovecraftian amalgamation like the plot equivalent of the world’s wildest fruit salad
Commenting to say the persona 3 remake rumor is true and its coming out and we're all excited about it.
Persona MC elemental magic:
Fire: Tatsuya Souo, Makoto Yuki
Wind: Naoya Todo
Electric: Yu Narukami
Light/Bless: Maya Amano
Darkness/Curse: Ren "JOKER" Amamiya
1:11:08 Ok that was a really good unexpected edit. Love to our ever judging nahobeano.
2 things i would never have believed that existed in an persona game: gay people and hitler.
4:07 this sprite of Eikichi’s will never not amuse me
D-daddy-o?
It's so... unmistakeable
Really enjoyed the streams! It's been a while since you played P3, but they actually mention the Nanjo Group there. That's how the Kirijo Group got started, by splitting off from them.
Always glad to see more people aware there are other Persona games than just 3-5, and rumor has it the PSP version of 2 is worth giving a shot
The sin was innocent, but will the punishment be eternal?
I think you are one of the few if not only streamers i've seen that actually played (or read in case of P1) the first few games of the franchise.
8:22 "persona 3 remake will be coming" the game announced on year after and release this year near February
"worse than dead / forgotten"
extra painful when you remember atlus and all its fans have forgotten p2is even exists ;-;
Plus the fate of them
55:09 The absolute bewilderment when he showed up. 😂
What are you racist?
Something tells me Crystal would be amused by just putting money into the cat statue nonstop.
And to be honest, same.
That one part about halfway through where *spoilers* drop down from the sky still has me absolutely cackling, the confused jamming mixed with the looks of shock is such a 10/10 stream moment
Can't wait for the EP video :)
" Persona 3 remake is happening, just saying, it's a rumor, that I started, and it's going to be true one day "
ATLUS: " Hey guys look at this cool PERSON 3 Remake we are making pretty cool huh :D "
Yeah!!! 😊
This was the first persona game where i was there for all the streams and it was amazing.
Forreal your persona streams and videos have been my highlight the past year and I hope the journey has been just as fun for you 👏🏼
How’d this make Tatsuya probably my favourite persona protagonist even though I’ve never played as him
No joke he is my favorite male protag.
honestly i think he's the best written silent protagonist i've ever seen.
Fun fact, if you romance Lisa and import your save data to the PSP version of Eternal Punishment, Tatsuya in EP will call her Ginko (or so I've heard)
i still like the visual style of this game more than most other rpgs. its really cool. perfect blend of 2d and 3d.
8:20 Damn would be surprise if i heard the rumor that says P3 remake will released in early february am i right... 😏
If you think about it Vulcanus came first so Orpheus breaks the persona code
8:20 oh my God it worked.
43:49 I feel like this perfectly sums up how ballistic this plot is. XD
i love the editing of this! your editor is so good
48:20 I love how chat implode when Maya said impostor
Lol her rumor of the P3 game reload came true
Ah yes the adventure of Bichin & Friends, lovely
Oh, Nyarly name drop!
(And yes that's where is name's from haha)
That Fuhrer reaction was priceless too 🤣
Fun video! It's what this game deserves ❤
Tatsuya x Jun is the only pairing that makes sense.
8:21 Reload’s gotcha back!
@@Arcsin27 Same! I make an effort to observe them whenever I can, whether with a scope or with the naked eye.
I unironically called Persona 2 Innocent Sin as Omori due to the fact, they are so damn similar in every way.
8:25 Um coincidence? Considering Persona 3 Reload is out and has been out for 3 months now
The power of rumours!
YESSSSSSSS!!!!! the p2 duology are easily my fav persona games i'm so happy right now
also this video was posted on katsuya's birthday 😳
Persona 2: Innocent Sin is my favorite game of all time and seeing you give it a chance really makes me smile
8:16 Rewatching this after the P3R reveal… 👀
Crystal... I don't know who edits your videos but very very mad respects to them cuz this was amazing!!!
So glad people get to see your reactions to this crazy ass duology! Onto Eternal Punishment, WOOOO
I love the cannon Jun/Tatsuya relationship, but it makes me all the more disappointed at that later games for not having gay romance options :(
Ommggg I literally was watching the full playthrough on your channel a couple days ago!! It took me like 2 days and I skipped some of the combat but I loved watching it
I'm going to try do it for Eternal Punishment but I think I should pace myself this time
The video is out LETS GOOOOOOO
Absolutely loved watching the streams of this game, it was a blast :D
8:20 well that aged well
I couldn't believe what I heard, I had to Reload the page!
i'd like to classify persona 2 as the second real-life SCP, alongside jerma
if i wake up in a dumpster in detroit and this game doesn't exist anymore i won't even be surprised
I never realized that the answer to who tatsuya likes would change the talking options
im so happy you decided to play the duology
i think my favorite part was kisin approving of the gay LMFAO
Damn your the only person I know who got into Persona backwards. If this keeps up you'll stumble into SMT mainline backass from SMT If.
Well she did recently play through Devil Survivor, so... XD
p2 ending is STILL like, time to cry , its been YEARS but it never stops, both of them mess me up good
I cant believe that the new persona game is out! 😍 Even though the numbers seem to be wrong..?
Not to be that guy but I’m still gonna be that guy

8:20 And your rumor did come true Persona 3 reload 😂
