- It's the opening tracks of "Geogaddi" by Boards of Canada. That record was the first thing I had ever heard from BoC. I got it in a November night around 9 years ago and it creeped the hell out of me at first. It is to this day my favourite BoC album.
Again accompanied by the magically improvising fingers of
.Ruhepunkt ( / avantgardealeyo ) on an old abandoned grand piano we found at our uni.

I appreciate this because that build up how Ready Let's Go merges into Music Is Math's intro.....it's one of the eeriest things ever recorded. They did a fine job creating a similar vibe with the lead-in to Reach For The Dead.

Now this is a COVER! I love how you guys added your own twist to it.
I will never forget the first time I heard this which was significant because it was the first time most anyone outside of a handful of insiders heard it. It was at the New York City BoC Geogaddi listening party, 2002. This was the first track and hearing it power up the way it did not knowing what to expect and then hearing this.... Changed my life.

@@DesertPunks It was an official event through WARP. If Marcus and Michael were there (and it was speculative that they were) they didn't advertise it. I may have even met one or both and not known it. It was in an old converted church somewhere on the lower East side. Inside there were folding chairs pointing towards a fairly large PA system. To be honest, it felt like a strange social experiment. Someone came out and said a few words and then dropped a box of records that had a single on it at 45RPM. That quickly turned into a savage mob scene where the vibe got animalistic for a second as the whole crowd there lunged at the box. We were also given plastic blue Hexagon chips at the door. I still have both. Vibes calmed down and we were invited to listen and relax. Thinking the folding chairs were not the place I wanted to be, I chose to go lay down on the floor instead and listen in a more comfortable position. Several followed. I remember the volume being louder than I'd ever personally listen to BoC. The bass was almost savage at times but hearing those tracks for the first time in that place in that way -- knowing this was definitely an album that would rival Music Has a Right -- was magic.
Starts off a little slow, but VERY ENTERTAINING. Thank you so much for making this and sharing it. Great entertainment.

Listening to the third cover now, in awe of the musical consciousness all this has behind. Each new cut is like "shit this is crazy how they observed and covered everything!" What is craziest about this is how they only know how abstract this music already is in its original form, and they cover nuisances that will amaze all the hardcore fans but people who don't have a clue about BOC are practically missing everything about it 😂
