DUNE: Part Two - Main Theme (Piano Version)
Piano Version by Patrik Pietschmann
Some of you have been asking for it, now you get it! This piano version is based on the tracks "A Time of Quiet Between the Storms", "Beginnings Are Such Delicate Times", "Kiss the Ring", "Only I Will Remain" and "Never Lose Me". Just like with the first DUNE soundtrack, I had my doubts at first whether the original music could translate to piano. The soundtrack is once again very atmospheric, the main theme consists of just eight notes, and it's difficult to identify a clear meter or rhythm. Perhaps, though, that's also why Hans Zimmer has once again managed to create such a unique and emotional soundtrack. Although the new soundtrack also features the familiar musical themes from Part One, I focused solely on the new and prominently used main melody in Part Two. More specifically, this is a love theme that reflects the relationship of the two main characters, Paul and Chani. Fun Fact: The theme was already briefly and inconspicuously heard in the bagpipe scene in the first film. The corresponding track "House Atreides" can be found in Hans Zimmer's "The Dune Sketchbook" from 2021 and already contains the entire melody in a long and similar form to that heard in the second film.
Here is my piano version of the first DUNE soundtrack: • DUNE - Main Theme (Pia...
Any suggestions for future arrangements? Please leave them in the comments. - เพลง
Paul Atreides: plays this theme in a piano.
Stilgar: ...LISAN AL GAIB!...
(You did an amazing job mr Pietschmann. I really admire you and appreciate the effort you put in every arrangement of yours. The more I listen to this cover the more I love it. Thank you!)
I remembered in the cinema, a lot of people giggled (me included) when this guy said that 😂
ikrrr litrlly paul :*breaths*
stilger: ..LISAN AL GAIB!!!..
More like
Paul: *Presses one note*
Stilgar: LISAN AL GAIB!!!!!
I still find it funny when he's so focused on the fact that Paul might die in a duel, dashing all hope for the Fremen, that when Paul finally wins with two knives in him, Stilgar takes a moment to snap o"LISAN AL GAIB!!"

😂
I love how this theme first appeared in “The Dune Sketchbook” album as a part of the House Atreides theme. It becoming the leitmotif of Part 2 and being played on wind instruments instead of vocals perfectly merges Paul’s legacy as an Atreides and his newly gained Fremen mentality.
I couldn’t imagine that this theme could be arranged for a piano so perfectly. Astounding job 👍
YES! I remember listening to it in september 2021, while waiting for the 1st film, now it became this...😢
Piano al Gaib!
as it is played!
@@GM4Nas it is scored o7
I think few people pay attention to it, but visual side of this covers is also fabulous.
And guys, Patrick has coded this visuals by himself! He is a real genius!
do you mean that those are... spicy ?? ; ^)
woahhh really? woww
Au contraire! I didn't know he coded them, though. This one is especially beautiful.
Found this channel when interstellar had come out, which I bought the tablature for as it's the best arrangement I have (still) ever heard.
He was tiny then, and there were a couple of other piano channels (that I knew of that did "something" like what he has here, but his was better and the figured it out himself, which was impressive at the time. Crazy that he's over a million subs now
Hey Patrik; I know you probably won't even see this but i want to thank you so much for your hard work in these videos. The hours of practice it takes to play pieces like these helped inspire me to pick up the keyboard. When I was 13, one of my friends showed me your Force Theme from Star Wars and i was amazed by how fluent the piano transcription was. I practiced every day, 2-6 hours for over 4 years. Now i can play your pieces like i always wanted to.
Now a new page in my music life is approaching and i am starting to produce original compositions. Your originals really inspire me to keep making music and give me ideas on how to use instruments. So one more time, thank you so much for giving me that inspiration! Can't wait to see what you do next!
Love the arrangement!
Wow, thank you so much for your kind words!
Thank you, Patrik for being my inspiration!
Patrick Pietschmann, I dont know what are the chances of you seeing this are, probably very low, but thank you for being inspiration for me to start piano, and thanks to you now I have a piano and now am going to start a youtube channel all because of you thank you.
the magic begins at... 0 seconds he starts to play. close your eyes and enjoy. love you Patrik!
This is absolutely brilliant. I'm sure Paul would be impressed too
YES FINALY !!! Patrik’s Version! Thank you it’s amazing as always!
I love the way that just like in the original soudtrack it became more and more epic and powerful
Can we just appreciate how hard he works? He releases a new song every month! These kind of thing need months of work! He must've practiced 4 hours a day! Thank you SOO much for working so hard just for our ears!
not 40 hours a day??
@@voken3112 He has to do at least 72 hours a day
4 hours a day are nothing for a professional Pianist
Most professional musicians need to play 5-7 hours a day
And these pieces aren't easy but they are playable for good amateur pianists and totally doable in one month if you practise like 1 hour a day. Writing them like this, that they sound difficult and imposing but are totally playable is the real challenge
I think Patrik Pietschmann can play much more difficult pieces than he posts at his channel
If you're playing it by ear, you need way way less practice than learning something from a sheet music.
Very emotional cover, you did the original justice and then some. Wonderfully arranged and perfectly played, that underscore of tragedy really comes through. Loved it.
Finally, I wait for this since the Film was released
A masterpiece
A true masterpiece. You understand the range and the complexity of the arpeggios if you try playing it. My fingers gave up. Found the true master. My full respect!
I can't think of any other musician that so *consistently* gives me goosebumps with every new release. You're a legend, Patrik!
Most epic soundtrack played by the most epic pianist.
Easily the best way to start my day
Now i'm pretty interested where you come frome haha. Because here in Germany it's 5 p.m. 😂
@@Mk26565 I'm in the US, which would be quite different lol
AMAZING! Dune 2 is one of my favourite movies of my life after i saw it in IMAX in cinema, you did a GREAT job as always, Patrik, thank you very much!
THE BEST VERSION ON TH-cam
I love your videos, 5 years ago i saw your videos and i realized what is piano, so because of you, i learned piano, and now, i can make videos like you,
Thank you very much patrick, you are the best pianist in youtube❤
Patrik is the GOAT
The music is as tremendous as the movie
I love how when you started I was thinking oh maybe I could learn this and then you took off and left me in your dust...amazing version of this song.
I am a simple man. I see a new Patrick Pietschmann Video, i press "Like".
Why haven't we had any of your pieces in a movie yet ? This guy is crazy good 👍
Just what we needed Patrik. You have earned my respect for a lifetime.
I've always loved your arrangements, and this is no exception. I especially love the arpeggios and broken chords.
9 years later, I’m still coming back to watch this guys videos ❤
Amazing work Patrik, I always love your compositions. You are able to translate these songs to piano so well, it is truly amazing. Thank you for all the time and effort you spend on these songs and sharing them with us.
This arrangement is simply gorgeous.... I have to say I wasn't really expecting a video today, but it was such a pleasant surprise :) Thank you so much for the beautiful arrangement, and happy late birthday!!!
One of the most beautiful compositions I have ever heard 🫶🏻
you are awesome!
That is, strictly speaking, true
You are the MAN Patrik! For the past year+, I've listened to your first Dune arrangement 5+ times a week. Im still hooked on it. I see myself doing same thing with part 2. Great work, you're crushing it!
You did it once again! The emotions you can feel in the original were perfectly put into this masterpiece of an arrangement! Thank you for giving us another piece we can listen to and play ourselves! I've been trying to do an arrangement for some time now, but I'm such a perfectionist that it always doesn't sound completely right... That's why I have so much respect for you, who always nails it! Good job! Keep it up!
Awesome job as always, Patrik! You capture the beauty of the piano in unique way. I love your style of arranging, and look forward to each new song❤ Hans Zimmer's music is incredible, but I think I like your piano version of this score better than the original😊 Your playing is truly amazing!
Patrik's arrangements never failed to impress us. Your talent and hard work combine to become such an incredible force. Your genius Patrik! Keep on making those magical sounds for us.🔥🔥🔥
I love how you made the lights the colour of spice just like the OG theme. This is stunning Patrik! You and Hans truly are a match made in heaven.
I love how at 2:29 you use the base note as a drone by holding the sustain paired with crescendo of the right hand. It sounds almost like you've added effects but no, you're just really good at arranging and getting the most out of the piano. Awesome work!
Hi Patrik! I hope you've had a great time two days ago. Happy late birthday!
The OST from Toto is always my favorite....and " take my hand" is a masterpiece.
If I remember correctly in an interview, Hans Zimmer wanted to compose this theme to convey a sense of longing, and man, I can say that how you sir have arranged it has captured that sense well vividly in the piano. Bravo to you sir!
Another masterpiece.... Thank you 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thank you Patrik! I've been eagerly anticipating this for a while and after watching countless 'Kiss the Ring' arrangements. I think your work here is one of your best Hans Zimmer arrangements, especially taking into account the difficulty of translating his Dune score to piano. Simply beautfiul!
I just new Patrik would cover this one. So happy to see it finally!!!
Yet another excellent piece from Patrik Pietschmann, the purveyor of the arpeggio.
Dune getting two back to back fantastic themes that are so distinct from each other is mind boggling. another hit from Zimmer and another great arrangement from Patrik
Wenn Patrik pitschmann auf Hans Zimmer trifft das das jedes Mal etwas besonderes ❤
Shivers down my spine...
Amazing!
brings me immeasurable joy to know that something I have no idea what it is could be so beautiful
„May thy piano chip and shatter“
An amazing piano version of such a powerful love theme from Zimmer. Really made my day seeing this Patrik upload. Keep making great piano covers of such fantastic pieces of music!
Love your hands dude, following you from...years...always a good choice.
I admire the short amount of time in which you arranged this piece and also learned it
I started watching the easy beginning and was waiting for the part where it would get REALLY hard and impressive. It did, like always. It makes my day whenever I see a new video. I want to play like you someday.
As soon as i master happy birthday i will conquer Dune
I've been listening to your piano for years, and you never cease to amaze me. Keep it up, Patrick. You're amazing
I've been waiting for your cover for this one since the movie came out! I knew that you would do it and you didn't disappoint! I love it, it's just perfect! Thank you Patrik!
I think i appreciate music much better because of you...
This is truly magical. Thank you for bringing me a great deal of inspiration and wonder.
Lieber Patrik,
Vielen Dank für dieses tolle Video.
Es sorgt wie immer für Gänsehaut.
Hab ein wunderbares Wochenende
This is the real beauty. Ty for sharing ur music 🎵
Absolutely stunning! It is incredible how you have managed to capture the absolutely breathtaking grandeur of the original piece on just the piano.
Thank you, StirlingPiano!
Absolutely stunning arrangement. Had me wide eyed from the sheer beauty of how the melody dances with the accompaniment. Bravo! At 2:30, the soft A’s bringing us back into the main theme again was just amazing. And the dance 3:30 and onward.. you should be working with mr Zimmer himself!
Wow! I hadn't heard this score yet, but now I definitely like it after listening to your arrangement, Patrik😃 Thanks for taking the time to share it with us!
Just stunning work. I don’t know how else to describe it. Hans Zimmer is a genius as always, and you make some of his work really shine
Das ist unglaublich!!! Ich habe schon den ersten Teil geliebt, aber der zweite übertrifft alles!!!
Wahnsinn 🤩🤩
Da muss ich mir wohl auch die Noten besorgen 😉
Just finished practising your first one. Great timing now I can practise again. Keep up the great work Patrick!
I JUST BOUGHT THE ONE YOU MADE TWO YEARS AGO! K love this
Wow this ist just amazing!! I haven‘t even seen the movie and I‘m blown away by this Theme! 🤯 I need to see this movie.
Patrik you did, as always, a phenomenal job😮💨 Thanks for that!
Chills, multiple times. You brought forth the melody in such a beautiful way! Bravo
I've never felt anymore excited for patrik's video!
This is one of your best arrangement! and they are all amazing. There is just nothing better than the Hans Zimmer & Patrik Pietschmann combo ^ ^
A superb arrangement, beautifully played.👍
May thy keys never chip and shatter
You are the king of movie soundtarck piano version :)
What a beautiful soundtrack. I'm gonna have this one on repeat for sure. Thank you for the inspiration!
How are you doing Patrik?
this is the first cover/arrangement I've heard that despite being for a single instrument captures the layers in Hans Zimmers score
(beginning) Me: Hey! I could actually play this one!
1:36 Patrik: Hold my sheet music.
But seriously; absolutely gorgeous piece that does the original justice. Bravo Mr. Pietschmann.
So beautiful! You are a genius ✨️💕! Love what you do, so emotionally strong everytime! 🥲👍🏻💕

I was looking forward to this! Superb arrangement as always Patrik
Truly outstanding. Close your eyes and soon enough you're off on an adventure. I would have this played at my funeral, my next big adventure.
Can't wait to hear this. I've listened to your original Dune piece about 100 times 😳
As it was written...
Quite literally actually. That was an absolut masterpiece of an arrangement! I didn´t know this piece would work out on the piano so good. You are a genius Patrik!
Pure genius! Amazing sounds
Been waiting for this since the movie came out. You blew me away Patrik. Thought I could learn this at first then quickly realized theres no way😂. You inspired me to pick up piano again last year and I’m so glad. Already learning a few of your arrangements, time, interstellar, gladiator, kung fu panda ect. As a suggestion i would love to see Forbidden Friendship from httyd. Been looking for a good one for a few years now. Great job 👏
Patrik, I’ve been watching your videos for many years now - I learned many of your arrangements and performed them.
This one is amazing, I haven’t seen the movie yet but the Hans Zimmer score sounds awesome.
Keep it up!!
This cover is amazing! Every time I see one of your arrangements, I think wow, I want to learn this!
Your interstellar cover inspired me to pickup keyboard and I can play the piece now and people love it on public piano! After that I could easily learn Mass Effect piano songs and now I'm learning Mlt Sonata 3 thanks to you and am having a blast. Thanks!
There’s nothing better then listening to music and feeling that rush of exhilaration go through your body. This deliver as does every price you play. INCREDIBLE!
Excellent! Nice transition at 2:30.
Keep it up bud🫡
Didn't think much of the movie at first, now I'm convinced! I have always been blown away by your skills in arrangement, it has inspired me to start arranging myself and experiment with different patterns, inversions, arpeggios, ect. 3:28 stood out to me, I though it was very well put together and really made the melody project. I am currently working on your theme from Tron: Legacy, hoping to give this one a try next!
Hi Patrik, was für eine tolle Umsetzung der Filmmusik; Augen zu und genießen (oder Augen auf und Deine Piano-Fingerfertigkeit erleben) :)
Vielen Dank dafür, klasse ;)
Your work is stunning to hear, looking forward to more 🤩
Mind blowingly good. You could not be praised enough 👏
By coincidence was listening to this in the gym yesterday. Great arrangement, Patrik!
What a masterpiece of music!😮
Beautiful✨
Inspirational playing, thank you.
