A favourite song from The Campfire Headphase, one I've been working on for a while. I had some very clear imagery for what I wanted to go with this, the locations include The Berwyn Mountains, Old Oswestry Hill Fort, Selattyn, Lechrydau and the sunset sequence is taken from Helsby Hill in Cheshire, overlooking Stanlow Oil Refinery and Liverpool. There is more to the narrative if you are interested. I hope you enjoy it and thanks for watching/listening.
So atmospheric, so deep... Music doesn't get any better than this. Boards of Canada has a way of stripping away everything that modern life cakes us in, gaining a direct line to ones soul.
The way their music can transfer so gracefully to other styles highlights just how masterful their moods and melodies are.
My grandmother just died and now I'm crying even more listening to this beautiful cover. Why is life made only for the end?

My grandmother died this winter. I feel you.
But life is not only made for the end my friend.
What brings me comfort is the idea that the way we percieve time and space are merely an illusion.
The universe is in a sence eternal. It must be, since the theory of general relativity tells us the simultaneity of events is different for observers in different reference frames. This means that the past still exists.
In essence you can visualize your life as an everlasting tree that grows in our spacetime fabric. You are all of it, at once. There is no time if you take a step back to observe this. (it could be helpfull to think of a 2D universe that had a time axis, so you would get a block universe in the 3D spacetime).
Your tree will always be rooted in the top of your grandmothers tree. In 4D spacetime, you will always stand on her shoulders, just like she is standing on her grandmothers shoulders.
Every moment you had with your grandmother, every memory you have, is still propagating as information throughout our existance we call the universe. And for the rest of time it will be.
Make your tree grow, make memories. You will always have the memories of your grandmother, and through those she will guide you for the rest of your life. She is at your root.

Thank you very much for your kind comment. As regards the narrative, there is not much to it - The shots of fields, cows, hills, clouds etc. are from near where I live. As I travel to work every day through this area I can see a ridge of distant hills 40 miles away, that's where the shots of the estuary, oil refinery and wind farms are taken. I decided to drive there one day and see if I could see my home patch from there and I caught that lovely sunset. So I guess the narrative is viewing the sunset simultaneously from two mutually visible locations .
That's some perfectly placed rubato son. But seriously, beautiful stuff
