Ahhhh...Bree's always drop kicking the fish or throwing them around. Poor fish! I think of 'Finding Nemo" whenever Bree goes fishing...remember the dentists grandaughter with the braces and how all the fish absolutely feared her....I imagine the white bass felt the same way about MrsRojoneck tossing them around like a wet rag.
I'm going to watch this video, then re watch it. Then I'm going to set it on repeat just so your voice is the last thing I hear as I fall asleep and the first thing I hear when I wake up. I'll put the tablet next to your cardboard cutout so it sounds like you're really there. .... .. Lol!
Another awesome video! Good job. That's a good way to get the kids hooked on fishing haha. Looks like a good time, except filleting the huge bucket of fish. Makes me tired just thinking about it.
Whats the best way to cook them white bass up, we have tried but we normal cook walleye so they had an oily tasted compared to anything else, but could have been the way we cooked them too.Good Video
what part of the lake were you guy's? i didn't know the lake had a spot that deep! i went ice fishing on Wednesday the 1st and only caught one fish. but it was a nice white bass. i was in 4 ft of water.
Sorry utahfisherman99 I promised I wouldn't tell where it is. It's one of many hot springs or "Abyss's" if you will. There's an area east of where I was that is over 30' deep. I read an article about a diver who found a spring over 60' deep with water temps in the 90's. Utah Lake does have a few secret honey holes. Bluegills, Perch, Crappies and White Bass can all be caught in the shallows. 4' of water is pretty shallow, usually I'll find a hole around 8' near the shore line and do pretty well. Trick with 'panfishing' is you have to keep moving around with the schools of fish, if you wait around for them you won't catch a lot.
This was out at a secret location known as "The Abyss". There's several areas out in this area that go down to 20'-30'. The fish pool up in these spots and make for some very fast action.
A few people have caught channel cats through the ice but I haven't. I'm sure there's an art to it like anything else. The cats I've seen pulled through the ice have been small (10"-12") but nonetheless, they're cats. Good eatin!
If you like fishing tournaments and prizes come to battle on bago in Wisconsin its huge they gave away a truck a couple boats and things like augers and shanty. Over 600 prize places.
This is footage from last spring. I have no idea how thick the ice is on Utah Lake now. Out there at the time I recorded this video the ice was 8-10 inches. Guys had driven their 4 wheelers out there. Should be fishable really soon if not already.
This is one of those things that I regret never doing while we were in Saskatchewan. They had a pretty big fishing derby that I just didn't get around to :( Looks like a great afternoon. www.northstars.ca/page/show/638435-ice-fishing-derby

Took me over 4 hours to fillet all the bass up for tacos. I'm not going to lie, it sucked. My back still hurts.
That is the worst. Electric fillet knife or manual? That's the real question!
Nice, haven't been ice fishing in many years.
Fishing feast... AND high tech too. Family is 1st... Have a great 2014
Igualmente Jose, Happy Ano Nuevo.
