    A lake with no half drunk beachards ripping around blaring rap music on jet skis. Peace, quiet, fish and motorcycles. Another fine Rojo cinematic spectacle. My day is complete.

    FANTASTIC! Beautiful lake. Unspoiled, unpopulated areas are the best for fishing, can't beat that mix up, KLR's and Fishing! You have inspired me to do a fishing trip off my bike...

    Riding and fishing..... it doesn't get any better than that. Great video. This is my new favorite one. Thanks for sharing.

      When you getting a dual sport?! Gunner says you won't give up your street bike, I bet him I could change your mind. Just think about it Shifty...you could ride to any water you want and fish your life away. Buy a dual sport and let's go fishing.

    I live in Utah and have been up to the Uintas twice. Great fishing and absolutely beautiful. Love it!

      It's an awesome area. Definitely my favorite corner of the state. The fishing is unbeatable and there's plenty of space to find your own area to be alone.

    This is the video that convinced me to buy a dual sport AND take up fly fishing. Thank you sir!

    • @MrRojoneck
      @MrRojoneck  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's what dual sports were designed for. Get you to the backcountry lakes and streams and rip some lips. Nothing like fly fishing for some hungry fish. Glad I could help out. Enjoy the bike and hopefully you fall in love with flyfishing.

      I know everyone doesn't enjoy fishing but I love it. Such a great way to relax, be alone, soak it all in, unwind and download the brain after a crappy week of work. Plus, riding the bike there and back is another bonus.

      @MrRojoneck  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'd love it up there. You'd probably faint and dream of your good ol guiding days. There's just something about being up in the backcountry. I was born in the wrong century.

    • @Adventure2wheels
      @Adventure2wheels 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Without a doubt! Just watching the trail to the lake brought back memories of days guiding. Then to see a beautiful high mountain lake and gentle breeze blowing from the mountains in the background. I was in heaven. You are a lucky man to have such awesomeness within a short ride from home.

    Congrats! Looks like you are excelling in the art of fly fishing. I used to go with my uncle who was a master at fly fishing. All that I could ever catch were tree limbs. BTW he always used a plain or royal coachman with a grey hackle as a drop fly. I rode the Mirror Lake highway a couple of weeks ago...It is a beautiful area. Thanks for sharing!

    • @MrRojoneck
      @MrRojoneck  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Doc! Been fly fishing since I was 11 when my dad taught me how to flick a fly. First fish I ever caught fly fishing was a cutthroat about 5" long....I was hooked after that. Now almost 20 years later I'm still at it. It's a great way for me to unwind my brain from work.

      +MrRojoneck sounds good! I'm riding from Vegas back to Salt lake Saturday and Sunday taking whatever back roads I can find. Hopefully cruising around st. George with everide if I can get ahold of him and he feels better. Then north from there. Would love some company.

      @MrRojoneck  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you been on any of the trails up in the Uinta's? This was my first time. An hour from home and you're fishing on some beautiful backcountry water. I want to go back up to 157 (I think that's the one, or is it 252 that comes down on the east side of Tibble Fork? Where we say by the bridge an river). We should call it "Moose Trail". That ride was freaking awesome!

    • @Gunner40Five
      @Gunner40Five 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** I rode the KLR up to the Uintas last year and fished boulder creek just below big elk lake. Lots of tiny little brook trout. No keepers, but fun to catch.
      Yea, we need to head back AF canyon again. We were on 252 when we saw momma and baby moose. 252 continues across the pavement and then up to where I turfed it on that switch back, and then up to the ridgeline intersection of 252, 157 and 041. It's trail 041 that drops down that steep rutted stuff to the east end of Tibble fork where we crossed the bridge and took a break.

    • @MrRojoneck
      @MrRojoneck  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok just double checking all the trail numbers to make sure I get this burned into my mind. Trail 252 meets up at the intersection where we met all the KTM's that told us we were stupid if we went right (041?). We then went right against their counsel and had the most epic dual sport adventure ride ever! Must. Go. Back.

    • @Gunner40Five
      @Gunner40Five 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** 252 is the moose trail that crosses the pavement and head up to the intersection of trail 157, 252, and 041. That's where all the mountain biker ladies rode past while we were taking a break. We dropped down 041 to where the KTM guys were, and took a right on 173 witch took us over to 040 and down to the east end of Tibble and across the bridge.
      Looks like eveRide and DuhFactor went back up to grab some more footage and ran into the same moose and mooselet, in the same place.

    I'm giving up the river fly fishing. Skunked again yesterday then I watch this. Pushing two years and nothing on the still new fly rod, again. I think I'll be hitting the Uintas this year plenty of times now that I've got some good transportation under me.

    • @MrRojoneck
      @MrRojoneck  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      What...how can that be?! A virgin fly rod for two years now. Where have you gone fly fishing? Rivers aren't too hard to figure out, small streams are almost easy. I vote, summer time you and I ride up to the Uinta's where a man can catch so many fish he could get bored. This video proves how aggressive the brooks are up there. As soon as the spinner hit the water I'd have a fish tugging on the line before I could flip the bar over on my spinning rod. Dry fly fishing is awesome up there too. Don't get rid of the rod and reel just yet.

    very good video! Beautiful area. I do worry that your spot is attached to your bike and not you! I used to do that but then i got to thinking most times there's a wreck you leave your motorcycle and end up apart from it so if i ever get too hurt to get to my spot i would be out of luck. Just a thought :)

    • @MrRojoneck
      @MrRojoneck  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is indeed a beautiful area. I've thought about the SPOT just like you have. I do carry the velcro strap with me while riding in case I go hiking on a trail or hike to the sweet fishing/hunting spot where I can't ride my bike to. I bought the SPOT mount just to try it out to see how I like it. It may or may not be a temporary/permanent addition to the bike. Knowing I have you pulling me to one side might just help make a decision down the road. Thanks for stopping by.

    I didn't know you has cutthroats there. I'll be driving through Utah in a couple of weeks. By the way, 40 degrees is not cold. :) ride safe!

    • @MrRojoneck
      @MrRojoneck  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lots of Cutthroats in Utah. Bonneville and Bear Lake Cutthroats are all native here. Brook Trout are my favorite trout to catch because of their beautiful colors and you only catch them in high alpine backcountry heavily forested areas, second favorite is Cutthroats. Very aggressive and fun to rip lips with flies.

    Which area did you go thru to get up there as well how bad are the dirt roads this year?

    • @MrRojoneck
      @MrRojoneck  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Take the "Murdock Basin" turnoff. Its a few miles before the Mirror Lake area. It's paved for a little bit then turns into dirt. A few miles later it turns into a nasty 4X4 trail with boulders and rocks everywhere. Not doable in a car, maybe an SUV (depending on the height), mostly a 4x4 truck or jeep trail. Easy on the bikes.

      The fly rod is a 2 piece rod. I had it taken apart and placed it in a backpack and tied it down. Still trying to figure out a rod holder thingy/mod for the bike. Backpack works just fine.
