- Lets talk about Fly Catching! This video is at the request of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel community who would like hashtag#veterinary professionals to know more about this disorder. This is a very poorly understood disease and despite recognising it for decades we still do not know the pathogenesis or even if the dog is hashtag#hallucinating. A common finding in affected dogs is hashtag#gastrointestinal disease (for example inflammatory bowel disease or intolerances/ allergies). In this short video I show an affected dog and discuss management. Thanks to Cavalier Matters and Bliss Cavalier Rescue for material. hashtag#guthealth hashtag#ibd hashtag#gutbrainconnection hashtag#gutbrainaxis hashtag#gutbrain hashtag#cavalier hashtag#CKCS hashtag#flycatchers hashtag#flycatcher hashtag#dogdiagnosis hashtag#dog hashtag#doghealth hashtag#neurology .
Very good. Thanks ❤
Hello, I am conducting research for my bachelor's thesis on compulsive disorders in dogs. I would like to ask whether the behavior 'fly snapping' can be directly associated with compulsive disorders in dogs. Additionally, how can I determine whether this behavior is linked to gastrointestinal (GI) issues? Would it be accurate to describe it as a compulsive behavior primarily triggered by underlying gastrointestinal problems? Thank you for your time.
if "compulsive disorders" is classified as " repetitive behaviour" then fly catching could be considered under this umbrella and if someone was doing a research paper on "compulsive disorders" then I would expect fly catching to be included or at least mentioned. However I am cautious about applying human terms to canine disorders especially as we can never know if a dog has obsessive thoughts and, even if not stated, this might be assumed. I am not sure whether I have answered question though because not sure what you mean by "directly associated with"
