The first of the final caves. That doesn't make it any easier.
This cave is filled with nasty hazards, nasty enemies and tons of treasure. It is time to put everything you've learned to the test!
The boss is surprisingly not as difficult as the cave. - เกม

To kill an Emperor Bulblax, you can just lure him to the bomb rocks and he will stick his tongue out and eat it. Then he gets stunned taking some of his life out. I did that myself.
Or just use op purple pikmin :P

Look like an Emperor Bulblax ate a crab for breakfast and then spat out a crustacean’s claw once it was defeated.
That boss made me suffer as a child. Even when I eventually beat it, it took out a good sixty Pikmin. I never thought to ever come to the caves with anything less than 100, and that led to high mortality rates because I also rarely thought to separate them into Purple killsquads.
This is my vengeance. Thank you.

Another quick and safe option for the boss is to split your leaders, have one grouped with all your pikmin right at the top of the ledge at the entrance to the boss room and use a spicy spray. With your other leader, aggro the boss and bring him straight into the ledge. With the extra height from the ledge, you can very easily throw all your purple pikmin right onto the bosses belly for a very quick kill before the boss can even flip back over.
I used 40 purple pikmin for this strategy but even if you have fewer, you should still be able to get it by following them up with any other pikmin you have. Just be sure to get your purples on first to maximize your dps.
From what I read, Ultra Spicy Spray sets all Pikmin Strength, movement speed, and Attack speed to the same value, so Purples have their thud-impact but their repeated attacking will be the same as all the others. So if using Spray, any Pikmin will work (Yellows maybe less optimal since they fly higher and thus take a smidge longer to land and start hitting him)

Fun fact: you can pick up bomb rocks by walking into them and holding z, not many know you can do this.

I like to come back to Hawlo’s videos on these games. As well as the dungeons. It’s like a pretty good review and a huge refresher on what your doing. It’s been I think almost 10+ years since I last played this game. I play video games, but just recently started paying the old stuff a visit again. Like Pikmin, I’m doing the games in order. I just did Pikmin 1. That was nice. Short and sweet. Pikmin 2 is way more intense. I definitely believe this game is one of the hardest games I’ve ever played. Even back when it first came out. This game is a fun challenge. Especially no death challenges. For me, one of the most notable moments of this game was that dungeon with the sub level of just dwarf and bulborbs everywhere lol 😂 it was freaking insane lol oh man, I’m dreading it. I won’t ever forget that seeing that for the first time! I was like: “oh shiat! What do I even do?!” Lol
In my opinion, the segmented crawbster is a lot harder than people give it credit for
The window you have to attack is limited half the time available to attack is spent dodging the boulders, another 10-25 % on finding the sweet spot to attack. And yeah
And to make tings worse, it recovers its energy...

Both the Mysterious Remains and Milk Tub seem like pretty common treasure names to me after a crab was probably eaten to death by Emperor Bulblax long time ago. 😂

The gattling groink is the hardest enemy and I literally made it out of here with only 3 pikmin 1 purple and 2 white

I just realized every pikmin game is personalized! The 6th sub level on my Nintendo starts with 2 water dimples and a wollywog ONLY!!!
Most floor caves are randomly generated, yeah. They have parameters like "have this many enemies, this and that treasure, this type of floor tile, music, etc.", but then the actual layout of the floor is created when you enter it. Even then it's not always consistent, with even treasures failing to appear if you're unlucky. Some exceptions are boss rooms, for example.
@@Hawlo I remember restarting the Cavern of Chaos on the final level, and one time, the exit was IN the room, but not any other times!

I only brought 20 red pikmin so i had a real hard time on sublevel 2… i didnt want to use my bitter spray so i ended up having to do some weird strategy to kill the fiery bulborbs… i used red pikmin and then threw purples to stun them. It took me like 8 tries to get it done with no deaths lmao

By this point I didn't need any more purple pikmin.
Even after I carried the dumbbell in wistful wild the treasure that takes 1000 pikmin I still went to the subterranean complex a bit more time like to or 3 because after the dumbbell I have like a jillion purples so I get a bit I am kind of careless because I dont need to save them and you can always use more purples because they can carry you through the game

I am wondering if you could tell me how many of each type of Pikmin you brought into the cave as I am about to do it and I really love your strategies in your walkthrough videos.
You can never go wrong with 20 of each. At least 20 of purples and blues for easy fighting and in case of water treasure.
Hawelo92 ok I get it also would you say that 15 reds are too little because i do most to all of the fighting with purples and 15 is what I planned for my strategy
Also right, you technically don't need more than 10 reds. That many can take on a petrified Fiery Bulblax.

What were the numbers of Pikmin you brought into the cave with you?
I forget, but not more than 15 of each probably. I may have brought 20 blues, in case there was underwater treasure. If you expect to lose pikmin, though, feel free to bring 20 of each.

I destroyed the Segmented Crawbster with 10 purples.
You never necessarily need reds in order to beat the game. Continuously throwing purples on fiery bulborbs is enough. Taking 25 Pikmin each except for reds is the best choice to make.
EntonDude2 It is necessary to use reds in the game because how are you going to get past the tutorial?
@@Pikpikcarrotzz I think he's just referring to caves. However, I think he's mistaken because I'm pretty sure you need red pikmin to get the gyroid treasure? I may be wrong though, I can't remember the layout of that sublevel exactly. In any case, it's still a good idea to at least bring 1 red when there's a flame warning, simply because they'll make pikmin pathing a lot less dangerous by taking out flame geysers.
am I crazy or is this cave not that hard? easily did this one no death but dream den (the "easier" one) took me soo soo many tries
Try beating sublevel 1 with the following conditions:
All Pikmin must survive.
The Watery Blowhog must survive.
It’s extremely difficult, but I’ve pulled it off.
More impossible:
All electrical wires must not be disabled.
All Careening Dirigibugs must survive
Firey and Watery Blowhogs must survive
All Pikmin must survive
Captains must not take any damage
No spicy or bitter sprays

I think I can see but I'd just like to ask what number of each pikmin you brought in?
Hmm, I can't remember. Not too many of each, since I wasn't gonna lose any. About 10 of each color is enough, for example, but you definitely want at least 25 blues to carry treasure.

I only save it for emergencies. It helps to leave some pikmin collecting it when you're doing other things, too. And if you see a doodlebug, you can get two from them.

Use purples only and aim your pointer at their head shadow on the ground while using vertical/overhead camera. Cause that way you throw them directly at their face

You can also throw purples and keep calling them so they don't burn.

Do the pikmin drown as soon as you start playing? Have you tried resetting the floor multiple times?
@@Hawlo no when i walk with them they start falling radomly (sorry my english) and drowning, and yes is my 7 reset by now

It's the GC version. In the new control version, you can move the cursor freely with the wiimote, allowing you to throw your pikmin much farther than in the original.

I've played the Wii version at my friends home, always in multiplayer style, so how do I switch captains if I play in single players mode when using the nun juck and the Wii remote?

Just run around throwing purples.
I just did it by running around with my captains and punching all of the bulborbs and letting the gatling groinks kill eachother while punching them in the legs while trying not to get blown up

Make sure you bring about ~35 purple pikmin into the cave with you, they make a lot of the sublevels in this cave go smoother. Gatling groinks can be stunlocked with purple pikmin and the AoE from thrown purple pikmin will one-shot the dwarf bulborbs, making sublevel 8 actually one of the easiest in the cave.
simple my ass, maybe on wii, but the gamecube version is way tougher, espc without those potions. i throw the pikmin on his belly but they all keep sliding off & doing nothing. then i finally land some on his stomach, he losses a quarter of his health, & the next time he goes belly up my pikmqn land on his vulnerable area & do ZERO DAMAGE, this happens one or two more times & then his health js back up. i have been fighting this boss for 6 hours now i am 32 years old with a gamecube & no career or direction in life & all i want is this

It’s says died in battle... all 12 of them. Maybe when I abused the Gatling Groinks AI for them to shot a captain behind a wall (I know I got out of this sub-level with 100 Pikmin tho)
