I know this is a old comment but... I’m 90% sure that many players have completed this cave. Not to brag but, I literally did a flawless first time completion of the cave. It’s all worth the struggle once you get to battle the waterwraith at the end of the cave, and earn that pikmin loudspeaker thing.
Back in the days when I was a kid, completely scared of the Submerged Castle cause I didn't know what to expect in this "dungeon", and the Waterwraith suddenly dropped from the ceiling with this creepy music... I really almost pissed myself out of panic cause I didn't know what to do about him and he kept killing my pikmin.. So I decided to hide in the pipes until he wasn't around anymore :'D
@@DesolateLavender if you study the dungeon, you can usually go through it pretty fast. I think the last time I played I got through all 4 levels without summoning the wrath
Tips for anyone worried about facing this thing: -Zoom the camera all the way out so you can easily see where the Waterwraith is. -If it gets close to you, swarm your pikmin against a wall until it goes past you. -Bring some bitter sprays incase it gets too close, the Waterwraith is effected by them.
I feel like playing through this whole game just to play the submerged castle is worth it. Not to say that the rest of the game isn’t enjoyable, but this cave is an experience and a half.
For those of you who say beating "Through the Fire and Flames" on expert 100% is hard, you have never experienced true pain and difficulty until you've tried doing this.

The first time I played this game, after my initial oh shit reaction to the Water Wraith my immediate second thought was that I thought of the most Scooby Doo-esue name possible for this thing, Creepy Roller. So what's a person to do but scream Zoinks and ran away from that thing.
Honestly one of the best pikmin videos on TH-cam. Such a legendary cave and you managed to get through it with ease. Sure you can learn the routes or enemies, but no matter what it feels a little random each time…

My first water-wraith experience. I was in sub-level one, and I knew about the devil (water-wraith). I didn’t though know it could spawn on the first floor. So I took my sweet time. When I was finished getting the loot, I wanted to get this egg next too two geysers, and a small water-pond. Just as I was going to get the egg. It came..... now I didn’t really care because I knew a lot about him, but then I noticed in the cutscene the two geysers, and tiny pond. The water-wraith spawned RIGHT ON TOP OF ME. I lost most of my Pikmin. (Had 100 blues), and was left with 9. It was a great first experience. I had to reset of course. So all that time was wasted, all because of a stupid egg I didn’t really need.
interestingly enough, a speedrun I saw of this game covered a strategy with the Floor 2 Dweevils. By using the napsack, they can pick up your captain, and they will ignore the treasures.

Man, I remember one time, I was on sublevel 3 and I took too long and the waterwraith spawned on me. However, it spawned DIRECTLT ON TOP OF ME, seriously harming and trapping Olimar and killing most of my Pikmin under it. Unlucky me...
I feel like they put the white pikmin there to try and trick people into thinking it'll help them get treasure faster, but really its just to make things more difficult to make sure they don't drown or anything ...Or its just my thinking, idk Epic gameplay btw! Very skilled
Wow you're a lot braver than me. Starting at Sublevel 3 I basically had all my blues in a place where the Water Wraith couldn't get them and used my bulb min to clear the floor. Problem was I only had 15 of them since I wanted to turn them into Whites and Purple Pikmin. :')
Incredible tutorial!!! I always dread this cave but I just got through it without losing all my pikmin for once 😂 I only made contact with the water wraith once during the levels, which I’m stoked about!!! Definitely still stressful as ever, but I love now knowing I can beat this guy!
For me, the WW only came on the 3rd floor (he obviously came on the final), but the encounter was HORRIFYING! He spawned LITERALLY right next to me, as I was carrying back the tiny swirl cookie. But I came up with a strategy: Swarm the Pikmin to the edge of the wall so the WW ignores me. It worked, as he turned and left. Then, I took the opportunity to use the max Pikmin to carry back the cookie while the President acts as a diversion to the WW so he doesn’t run the Pikmin over. That actually worked, as the Pikmin got the treasure safely and I got to the exit hole with the President to evade the WW. Even though I did some good quick thinking, but that ordeal was TOTALLY SCARY!
I used to collect everything wow I didn't fear this lvl but tysm for video! I almost nvr used the sprays either but wow ty for the tip on not bringing so many Pikmin so I can hv the bulbmins I always wondered y some wouldn't hv babies! Plus I didn't know they were immune to every hazard! Wow u r good at getting all the leaf Pikmin in the nectar.
When I played Pikmin 2 The waterwraith got stuck in a dead end with a treasure so I had to finish the dungun and go back but on the bright side I got closer to 100 purples for the Wistful Wilds 1000 Pikmin treasure.
Ultra Slasher lucky, I'm the opposite. I was on floor 3 and the damn thing spawned directly on top of me; I was trapped under it when it landed and it killed most of my pikmin.
Fun fact: If you use cheats to give all Pikmin immunity to drowning, the game will STILL refuse to allow you into this cave. The cave is coded so that ONLY Blue Pikmin are allowed to enter.

When you transformed the bulbmin into white and purple pikmin, the pikmin deaths at the end of the cave results should say “-15” because you transformed pretty much non existing pikmin out side the cave into pikmin that can go outside.
Yo first time I got to that invisible boss this spawning out of nowhere. Steamrolled like 90 pikmin. I freaking jumped off the couch RAN TO THE GAMECUBE AND PRESSED RESET.... that bastard almost got away with it

Man I ran through this cave so fast fearing the water wraith to the point where he never spawned,, but I still lost quite a bit of pikmin cause I was rushing lol
Sub level 1 has fire hazards Sub level 2 has water hazards (which isn’t a problem) Sub level 3 has electricity hazards Sub level 4 has poison hazards (and bombs) Finale level has purple pikmin WHERE YOU CAN DESTROY THE WATER WRAITH FOR REVENGE FOR SO MANY LOST PIKMIN Also almost all the treasures are dessert themed
Quite the tale to tell with this one, was stuck in sublevel 4 with 2 bulbmin breaking open to the next level (all my blues and other bulbmin died of bombrock earlier in the level), and waterwraith was rapidly approaching. The cave opened just as the waterwraith cornered me, and I jumped into sublevel 5 with much fear, before seeing final sublevel on my screen. I then killed waterwraith with the 2 bulbmin who became purple pikmin.
"What is this?!? I can see it with my optical receptors, but my sensors cannot detect it!" "Could its physical form be anchored in another dimension? ...Attacking it is futile!" I almost got a no death run on this cave, but the thing that killed my Pikmin was the Wollywog. Waterwraith didn't even show up at all.
I got a run a few days ago on wii with no waterwraith on any floors and im proud of it.
I hate the wollywogs in this game. Even purple pikmin cant help cause the stun lasts for like half a second with these guys.

When you transformed the bulbmin into white and purple pikmin, the pikmin deaths at the end of the cave results should say “-15” because you transformed pretty much non existing pikmin out side the cave into pikmin that can go outside.
Yo first time I got to that invisible boss this spawning out of nowhere. Steamrolled like 90 pikmin. I freaking jumped off the couch RAN TO THE GAMECUBE AND PRESSED RESET.... that bastard almost got away with it

I swear submerged castle is scarier than 90% of the five nights at Freddy's games...
The song isn't as creepy with the gameplay itself, but damn by itself...
This is what i remember from this part when I was little. Me yelling "LOUIS NO THE LAWNMOWER GUY WILL CRUSH YOU AND YOUR 50 BLUE PIKMIN" with my older brother watching me play.

Not only, does this level have the most hated, most feared, boss in the entire game. All the treasures are worth half a years salary or less
But also some are edible to eat

Man I ran through this cave so fast fearing the water wraith to the point where he never spawned,, but I still lost quite a bit of pikmin cause I was rushing lol
Sub level 1 has fire hazards
Sub level 2 has water hazards (which isn’t a problem)
Sub level 3 has electricity hazards
Sub level 4 has poison hazards (and bombs)
Finale level has purple pikmin WHERE YOU CAN DESTROY THE WATER WRAITH FOR REVENGE FOR SO MANY LOST PIKMIN
Also almost all the treasures are dessert themed

Quite the tale to tell with this one, was stuck in sublevel 4 with 2 bulbmin breaking open to the next level (all my blues and other bulbmin died of bombrock earlier in the level), and waterwraith was rapidly approaching. The cave opened just as the waterwraith cornered me, and I jumped into sublevel 5 with much fear, before seeing final sublevel on my screen. I then killed waterwraith with the 2 bulbmin who became purple pikmin.

The hardest enemy in the submerged castle has to be the bulbmin. I just CAN'T kill them deathless without purples, it's a struggle.
