This piece is so pretty. It reminds me of the 4th of July with the fireworks square and the flag square and the reddish white and blue colors. Love the use of markers. Gotta try that. Hope you have a great week Denise.😊
Denise, this is fabulous. It amazes me how dark all the paint was when you first started and then when it was dry, how light it all became. Beautiful piece of art. xo
Love what you did! I always do enjoy your projects! I was swatching some new supplies while I was watching today! Yay! I always struggle when using my POSCA pens. It's seems to be hit or miss. Blobs or no color at all sometimes; even just going right through the paper🤣with my over zealousness and frustration. Anybody else have these issues? and I have quite the collection of POSCAs too! They do great on acrylic paint that's thoroughly dry but not great on many other mediums...
I love this! It is so different. I laughed when you started going fast with the markers in case they would dry too quickly. I thought to myself: well, first we had speed dating; now it is speed painting - LOL!! I so enjoy your videos. 💕
It’s brilliant that you’ve used the markers to create a painting. It’s very inspiring to watch you use different mediums and how you use them experimentally or not. It always amazes me how much you can learn through just playing with our supplies. You also show us all we can work through the different stages our work takes even the ugly. Thank you
Oh no! Another art supply to add to an already long wish list 😉. Love this piece and the way the markers blend into one another. Fabulous as always Denise 😍🙏🏻😍xx
Awesome!!!! I love watching this!!! The markers are so cool that they end up looking like watercolor! The pale peach boxes and gold markings are gorgeous 😍 🎉
Dear Denise, a majority of my abstract paintings look like 7:52 - the ugly stage - and I usually throw them away after swearing under my breath, HOWEVER, in this video you taught me how to stay with it and talk myself into adding beauty into a piece that looks blah - WHILE STAYING within the colour scheme. This was beautiful indeed! I will try this with my tombow markers. Have a wonderful Sunday!
I love the way that turned out! I sure wouldn't have guessed that you started with markers! 😮 Remember when you thought it might have started too dark? Isn't it kind of a bummer that colors fade so much as they dry? 😢 That's a perfect way to try color challenges, or try our own combinations! Another great paint day Denise!
When I saw the initial thumbnail, I never thought you started out with markers. Loved watching the transformation. I don’t think I have water color markers….hmmmmm. Enjoy your Sunday. A big ol’ hug to you🤗!
Good morning! It’s 5:04 am my time and watching your latest video is a great start to my birthday 😉 Excited to see what you’ll create today 😁 Have a wonderful day 🥰
my first thought after seeing the piece when dry: too grey, stormy, depressing. definitely like the piece by the end, tho, showing unattractive can be redeemed. ;-) Ordered a Klimt Masterclass book so I can gain familiarity with his style & hopefully incorporate into my card making attempts. Thanks for the consistent inspiration!
Beautiful! 😊 Love this color palette! Thanks for sharing the marker technique!!! I need to order markers and have been doing research. Are these markers your favorite or do you recommend another brand? Thanks!!!
Is the Kuretake Zig Gold Pen available for purchase only in Sketch box? I recently acquired the Kuretake Zip Gold Brush Pen from SLAS - it is not at all what I anticipated. I got it to up my order to get free shipping. Edits to say: I am following your Gustav Klimt Master Study on Skillshare. My initials are S.L. there. I’m on my iPad atm Denise ~❤~
Sketchbox worked with kuretake and brought it in to the US and were the only ones here who had that gold zig pen… some people in Europe said they can get it there? Seems to be sold out and not available here. I’m bummed. It is a fantastic pen! I’m glad you are in the Klimt class. He is one of my favorite masters! ☺️
You do have to spray the oil pastels with a pastel fixative. Otherwise they don’t ever really dry. I did a video on preserving art you might like here: th-cam.com/video/_E0I0FjbnXw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KXJzWstUOHqMxxQt
Once again…from “oh no! What is she doing?” To absolutely fabulous. You are such a joyous teacher! Love your laughter and joy. Much appreciated
Haha! I sometimes think "oh no.. what am i doing?" too... So glad you enjoyed it! Thank you! 🤗
Going to give this a try. A new spin on grids for me. Love it!!
Have fun! 🎨🎨🎨

This is a great way to "sample" in my handmade sketch book! Just jump in and go! Thanks for the inspiration.
Wonderful! Thank you! 🥰
Denise, this is fabulous. It amazes me how dark all the paint was when you first started and then when it was dry, how light it all became. Beautiful piece of art. xo
That was cool how it lightened as it dried! Thank you! 🥰
I love everything about this!!

Love it Denise! Also watching you at 5:15am before I have to start getting ready for work. Aching to do this instead of going into work today!!!
Have fun at work… then come home and paint a little and relax!! 🤗 Thank you! 🥰

I cannot believe how those markers blended like watercolour paints!! Crazy! In a great way! It all looks fabulous! ❤
They are really fantastic! I can’t believe how well they work too! Glad you loved it. Thank you! 🥰
@@kathyappleby6906 Kathy what markers are you talking about here. I might have missed the original post.
Love it Denise, oh no I can see me buying the watercolour markers now!
I need to get those markers out more - every time I use them they come out fantastic! Thank you! 🥰
I love this version of grid painting. The way you blended them together made it a whole painting.
I love doing these too! So glad you loved it! Thank you! 🥰
Really exciting 🦋🦋
Thank you! 🥰
It's fun to watch you play with your colors and patterns. I like the sampler idea and all the different marks you added. ❤❤❤
I’m enjoying the sampler idea… I’ve painted several more that are coming up. Fun to experiment with your supplies and marks!! Thank you! 🥰

Just absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!

They did fade quite a bit. Maybe that is the reaction they have to water. Was fun experimenting! So glad you enjoyed it!! Thank you! 🥰
Absolutely beautiful! It reminds me of a handmade quilt...❤
It does! I love that. Thank you! 🥰

i love how the colours blended together
That was cool! Thank you! 🥰
I just might be making that up😂 Love it. 😂😂😂
😂😁🤗
Wow.. from a scary mess to beauty. Impressive.
Thank you! 🥰
Agreed. This is one of those "art is magic" moments that I love so much.

Happy birthday!! Hope the day is a great one!! 🎉🥳🎂
I'm really loving these sampler pieces. I'm doing some in my mini art journals. There's enough space for 3-4 shapes per page. So cute.
I’m having a lot of fun with the samplers, I’ve done several more that are coming up!! Thank you! 🥰
That was fun to watch Denise!! It looked a bit dark but sure turned out beautifully!!
Thank you! 🥰
Do more of these love it
I love this one too! I’ve got some goodies coming up! Thank you! 🥰
Beautiful
Thank you! 🥰
I was surprised how much lighter the markers dried! This would be a great exercise with super granulating watercolors!
It would! Any of your supplies really. Fantastic way to play with all of your materials! 😔
Holy mackerel Denise!!! For the first 10 minutes I thought you’d lost your marbles…. 😅 but no… fabulous transformation ❤
It was a hot mess for a bit! 😂 Thank you! 🥰
Halloween/October vibe. Inspiring!
It is! 🎃 Thank you! 🥰
I love the mark making!! So exciting!!😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you! 🥰
Do you recommend the Color Cube 1 or Color Cube 2? These are an excellent resource for ideas, thank you for sharing!
These are my favorite art tool! I love having the whole set… but I do seem to prefer box 2 - but I can’t really put my finger on why 😁
@@2lilowlsstudio Thank you soo much! 🥰
cool!
Thank you! 🥰
Turned out pretty and that is why you should not judge a book by it's cover or a painting by its early stages. you have done it again.
I agree! Gotta get through the ugly stage! Thank you! 🥰

Beautiful! 😊 Love this color palette! Thanks for sharing the marker technique!!! I need to order markers and have been doing research. Are these markers your favorite or do you recommend another brand? Thanks!!!
I’ve really enjoyed these. I’m not usually a marker person, but these have been fun to experiment with. ☺️
Hiya, who did you mention was worth having a look at for their mark making, I couldn't catch the name. Thanks! 🖍️🎨🖼️
Gustav Klimt - an old master painter ☺️
This makes me wonder if I could get a similar effect with my alcohol markers and a bit of isopropyl alcohol? Something to try...
Lovely piece, Denise!
Time to experiment! Have fun! Thank you! 🥰
