The GM 4.3L V6 is basically a V8 with 2 cylinders cut off so it is not a surprise that it sound decent at idle. Past 2500 rpm you will know it is a V6 but it still sounds good for what it is.
After all the 4.3 vortec from the first and second generations is just a 350 small block with the front two cylinders chopped off.
Yes, that is what a V6 is.

Thanks for the inspiration! I have a blazer just like this and I was wanting to do something with the exhaust and now I know exactly what imma do. Already had it dumped behind the stock cat and it already sounded super mean for a v6 but that setup just brings it to a whole other level!

@@friedtoaster2126 my cat is gutted and it sounds similar to yours but louder with a little more rasp. I like it better with the high flow cat but both have their charms!

Yeah the 4.3s are decent for a v6, but I’m sure glad my 6.0 swap in my blazer should be coming too and end soon. Can’t wait to hear that thing bro. Y’all did this one mad clean tho

I had a “straight pipe” on my 95 blazer (exhaust right before cats got knocked loose and separated) and it sounded like an absolute monster

It's a Chevy 350 with 2 Cylinders missing. That being said it's a 90° V6 with an uneven firing order so there's a few reasons why it sounds good

I have the same one it just has no muffler or catalytic converters and the exhaust pipe dumps out right behind the front seats

A cat delete with a flowmaster super 10 muff would have been a better setup. That what I have on my 2000 blazer and it sounds awesome. The engine performance and fuel mileage improved about 12-15 %. High-flow cats are a waste of money. That blazer being from Florida they don't have to worry about emission testing so they should have gone with a cat delete.
im in ohio so no emissions or anything, do you think i should just do 3" pipe all the way back? i want the best overall sound, dont care if its loud.

First off. I own 2 blazers. They both don’t have rev limiters. That guy could have revved it to 5k RPMs and wouldn’t hurt it. Would have been way higher on the sound decibel

Got a remanufactured 4.3 under warranty at autozone right after I had a transmission rebuild and a week later there she is in all her orange glory, smiling at me from the dashboard.

Someone took the bulb out for my check engine but I hook up a scan tool to it every few months just to make sure(I mean if it start running bad I scan right then an there but you know what I mean)

I have a 1998 s10 ss, 4.3l v6 the cat is bypassed and I am putting a jones flowpack on it, 2.5 in, with a turndown
You probably should get tailpipe or 2. They drone pretty loud, unless you want that

Heres what i did Deleting that muffler with stock cats is still very quite I don't know why that muffler so big it isn't doing much. I wanna delete that second cat but I don't know because these things already get terrible gas mileage so I don't wanna make that worse lol

The check engine light is on because of higher revolutions per minute than expected, and the knock sensor which could be because of that
