Thank you for the video. I have a 2002 and will be following your video to flush the coolant. If it wasn't for these videos I would not be able to afford sending my vehicles to a mechanic.
Overall this is an excellent and comprehensive video, the only suggestion I have is that you shouldn’t use high pressure air to blow out the heater core because you’re risk damaging it and causing a leak. Dial down the pressure to like 15psi to be safe.
Hey there could I ask how that process went for you? I'm trying to do this on a '95 and I don't have the hose pullers or air blaster to do this thorough of a job. I'm hoping to drain the system as much as I can and replenish with a new coolant mix. Any tips from your experience?
You sir are thorough I wouldn't mind paying a mechanic like you. At least I know you're doing the job through and through and not just kinda half @$$ing it.
Man u are BEYOND awesome and SUPER THOROUGH!!! I wish u stayed in Washington state because I would hire u as my mechanic in a heartbeat! I feel way more confident in being able to change out my coolant fluid now thanks to ur video!😁 Thanks so much and keep up the great work!!!!!👍💯👏
Same thing happened to me...mechanic replaced my radiator but didn't flush the system...said flushing would damage my gaskets or something. But the way I see it, the rust is damaging! Too bad you're not in Florida...need a good mechanic like you around here!
I need to do this on my 1993 town car. I've had it flushed twice in 3 years at a quick lube place, but I checked today and the coolant is dark brown :( I'm sure those places are not very thorough while doing it so I'll probably end up doing it myself.
I think the main problem was lack of maintenance from the previous owners. I did a quick flush yesterday, but I'll probably have to do another more thorough flush like in this video maybe this summer when I have more time and better weather.
Thanks! Really thorough and helpful. Getting under the windshield wiper area is enough to make you wanna build an engine scaffold and lay over it, isn't it?!
oh man, i really don't want to flush the heater core, i have LPG conversion done and there's a lot of extra stuff running around that area which i don't want to touch. Would it still be considered a flush without doing it?
Would it be good to fill the whole system with clean water and add some flush chemicals, then run the car for a few miles, then flush out the whole system again?
I just bought 1998 Lincoln,219,000 miles, oil pan leak,1,rust in resavare, new water pump needed, oil pan,oil filter gasket, belt, new redeator.$1,300,the car cost $1800,for a new engine,$2,600,wow,100,000 miles warranty,??????? The body is the devil, that's how is one got me.
@@jdcauto5977 so then in other words it wouldn’t be best to change out coolant and try flushing the whole unit including the heater core since the blower to my air is messed up. See originally started having problem with the air not blowing hard at all and then heater core went bad so I have it bypassed now but the coolant inside the reservoir is so rusted looking I figure well I should have it changed. So what do you think I should do in my case
Coolant looked like swamp water.... I think its original factory coolant.. lol.. wonder why my car was acting up. Now I'm checking everything out. Yes, I did flush hoses, replaced clamps and THANK YOU AGAIN !!
Hey there I would say that in most cases I do this for any and all cars. Mr is any specific electronics that would be damaged in the process of flushing. For a 2003 yes I would do the same

Same
How did flushing your heating core go

I added coolant but I don't think I did it right because my 1999 Lincoln won't start. Any tips on how to fill up the coolant?
I applaud you young man..I'm up and coming amateur shade tree wannabe mechanic. I'm doing this exact job on a 97 town car.. well done !!

Amazing . It looks like a long delicate job to do.
Quick question. After doing all that, how many gallons of antifreeze would it need ? Should we use 50/50 or concentrate ?
Thanks again brother...

Most helpful video, thanks !
This should work for 98-02.

Excellent! Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Get some Thermocure and follow the directions. It will liquefy the rust and clean everything. Not a bad flush job for a beginner.
Another Great video.
Thanks again!
Very nice instruction!
Very nicely done sir.
This was a Great video
Petcock is the name of the valve.
But peacock sounds nicer.
Awesome content
That looks just like MINE!
I tried it and flushed it, added coolant but now my engine won't start.
Depending on the symptoms of the starting, check all your connections
A peacock? That's a petcock, a peacock is a bird.
You are correct. My mistake
I have a question can you still flush out reservoir if your unable to turn heat on or use the air at all?
I did shake it out as best as possible but , it may be best to just buy a new one, they aren't that expensive

Did you fill it back up from the radiator or the expansion tank?
first radiator then expansion tank

Good stuff
Would this work on a 2011?
Is flushing coolant same on 96 Town car?
should be a similar process

What do you do if you have a question to ask you ?
You can ask it here
Someone may be changing a water pump soon
why
When antifreeze gets that dirty it is hard on the water pump and seals.
I ment to say impeller and seal
@@QuickSiver54 Right. Why not change it out at this point for 30 bucks.... given the state of that block, l can only imagine the state of the pump.
It's like hell,we doing all that,to preserve it,and we take it back to Doctor, him say, nice job, but you have a crack in the block.😫
What City are you located in. I would like to hire you
Las Vegas NV
A 1998 town car uses Prestone Dex-cool which is orange not green
Would it be the same for a 2003 ?
