@@crisnmaryfam7344 I have raced two STIs. McRae, Makkinen, Solberg, Burns are heroes of mine. My current number is 555... Agree they don't have a car that would be competitive in WRC rules. But in America, they only race against amateurs and hire professional drivers. In Canada if they struggle they hire the opposing driver. That's what I mean by balls.
Well, considering the condition they are in it's just wishful thinking. The WRX, as iconic as it is, is just too big and too long (they are even from different segments of cars compared to modern WRC) and Subaru themselves have to build a 1.6L 4cyl engine to comply with the regulation (which i don't see it ever happen).
@@AbrahamArthemius 1) they could theoretically “borrow” an engine from Toyota. 2) Although they don’t have a perfectly fitting silhouette, the Ford Puma wasn’t exactly a perfect fit either. I think the Toyota Raize/Subaru Rex would be make a half decent looking silhouette.
This is a great topical video and introduction for those dipping their toes into rally. I do have 1 gripe about the video. The introduction music is massively louder than the rest of the video. Why? This is highly annoying.
@@rallybeast Ah OK , so they are build Cars, not tuned Cars, so this then also not an STI at all and they are not classefied, these cars are racing beside all possible classes of Rally like in some events in Europe. Thanks, I hear the 1st time of the Rally scene in the USA , i did even not notice it does exist at all. Its interessting and its good to see you have rally events too also when its not the most popular Motosport of the USA, that might will change too.
When the “Privateer” teams like Block got WRC spec cars they were forced to add weight and reduce power so th Subaru could still win. ARA need to bring the rules inline with FIA spec, makes the fields more competitive and would make international teams more likely to come and do a few rounds.
if they only race in the USA and not on the international circuit. they are not a powerhouse in motorsports. Just like every USA sport, they only compete locally and completely ignore international events and talent then crown them selfs the best. Thats not how it works.
The only pro team with the only pro driver (Higgins) in a country where rally is an amateur sport. Kinda shooting fish in a barrel.
Lol.on point

@@practicaldriver Subaru doesnt have a car that fits the rules. The balls though, They actually dominated WRC for years if you know your history...
What rules can they not comply too?

Launch control is a great rally show on TH-cam.
They've done a fantastic job with it.
It remembers me the Pancho Name's Subaru here in Mexico 🇲🇽
It does look very similar!
Beautiful, although I miss the GD chassis on the rally courses

STI is going to make a comback to as well it looks like.
That would be amazing!
No comeback coming not in WRC. Those days are gone
The rally engine is still 2,5L ?
My favorite Rally Car is the VW Polo. 🏆 👍🏻
That one is a legend
Subaru is Japanese for "Unity" , the stars are the Pleiades.
More that a group N rally car but not close to a Pro drive World rally Car specs ( 97 /2000) is that correct?
Great question! It’s about halfway between the two because it’s far more advanced than a Group N, but not quite the level of a WRC car.

It's the Open Class, and they aren't the normal street cars.
