    Paul Gilbert had a Detox pedal that worked great with more eq tweaks. Mad Professor Pedals have the Underdrive that’s great as well.
    They both really clean up a distorted one channel.

    Every time you look for cheap pedals on the guitar center site or eBay dozens of these always pop up and I never knew what the hell it even did. Now I know and now I want one 😂

    I did this with my tweed deluxe and a Boss EQ pedal. The amp is *very* crunchy and mid-heavy, so I set the EQ pedal volume to about 70% unity gain, take out a bunch of mids, and suddenly I have a clean blackface channel on my tweed amp. Works great!

      Ah that’s a good idea too!

    Mad Professor Underdrive is really good for this too

      Oh that’s cool! This has definitely led me to a couple other pedals I need to check out as well

    A pedal to make less distortion, I've never heard of that.

    Do you have a significant drop in volume with this pedal betwen clean and distorted tone? Asking to know the practícal use live, by the way excelent playing, very Good Channel !!

    An mxr 10 band eq does it for me. I can bring it down like 15db and fine tune it with some little cuts at annoying frequencies.

      That’s a good idea! EQs are really the most useful pedals

    I use a similar thing on all my amps. Hate multi channel gubbins...I'm old school. I use a Leech pedal by Vein Tap in the UK. It has a treble bleed as well. It's def a great compromise that I have used for years.

      That’s awesome! It’s a great idea. Not sure why I didn’t think of it sooner! 😅

    Bach is sniffing your bud…🥳 And you look like a legit eighties shredder. No time for that volume knop needs to shred 😄 C😎😎L

    is this like turning down the volume of your guitar? being passive i expect it to remove some hi frequencies

    • @bvanhoosen
      @bvanhoosen  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it’s exactly like that! You can use an EQ afterward to reintroduce some of the highs that are lost.

      @@bvanhoosen what if you put a buffer before the signal pad?

    • @bvanhoosen
      @bvanhoosen  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tonyvari I actually have a buffer first thing in my signal, and use active pickups. So that’s partially what you’re hearing
