  • This was a build during covid lockdowns and being a balsa usa kit went together very well and quickly. Taking some photos along the way l have now compiled some into this video. Any question on the build leave in the comments and l will try and answer them.

Beautiful work Tim. Did you modify the incidence of the wing? I read that by default, the incidence is like +5 degrees or something like that. Too much!

I cannot remember exactly what l did to be honest but l no l did modify the wing struts slightly. Also found over time that l had to lock the front wing strut next to firewall in to stop the wing from lifting under load which does change the incedence. Even with the preloaded built in the timber blocks over time reduce the preloaded and allows the wires to move in an outward direction from the fuselage. Hope this advice helps.

Love the craftsmanship here. Customizing a hangar 9 d7. Would like to do lozenge pattern. Any tips on how to get the pattern accurate? Stencils etc? Thank you

A friend of mine traced the 5 coulor Lozenge pattern from a downloaded file and converted to a format for laser cutting. Sized it to 1/4 scale and laser cut sheets of large format paper into the individual segments for each coulour. I then air brushed each pattern carefully overlapping the other lozenge pattern. Thats a rough idea of how. The paper used was paper that was used as seperating sheets between new litho plate sheets from a printer. It was about 100 gsm and was a dry feeling paper, My friend experimented with his aser cuttrer th get it not to burn and it worked out perfectly.

Very nicely done, what size engine? Mine i can't seem to stop the climbing, with rcgf 26. Going to try over propping it.

I have a OS GT22 in it. Does want to climb when at full power but can trim it ok. The rcgf26 maybe a bit more power than needed but maybe push you motor down using washers behind standoffs changing thrust line and see if it's any better.
