Tim's Warbird Joy Flight 2015
Did this back in 2015 which was a gift from my family. Go to 5 min mark for full aerobatics which consist of a loop, roll, cuban eight and a stall turn. Proir to that it is mainly wingovers probably to see how well l handled the G's. Felt a bit ordinary afterwards (weak stomach) but well worth the effort. Would do it agian in a haert beat. Thanks to the pilot and Warbird flights for a awesome experiance over some of the most beautiful coastline of Barwon Heads.

Convair 440 1/8th scale Don Smith plan (updated)
มุมมอง 97ปีที่แล้ว
This is a bucket list build of a twin l have wanted to do from Don Smith plans. Took approxamately a year to build but maiden was halted by covid. The Convair livery is for the Queen Elizabeth 2 visit to Australia in 1956, the year of the Melbourne Olypmics.
Fokker D8 1/4 scale build, Balsa USA kit
มุมมอง 5Kปีที่แล้ว
This was a build during covid lockdowns and being a balsa usa kit went together very well and quickly. Taking some photos along the way l have now compiled some into this video. Any question on the build leave in the comments and l will try and answer them.
Sig Spacewalker 1/3 scale build
มุมมอง 1.9Kปีที่แล้ว
My friend built a SIG Spacewalker which inspired me to build one the same with the Saito FG57 flat twin. I purchased an old kit available on RC trader to get me going. The colour scheme was from one l found online based at the Florida Air Museum but was a twin seater and l was keeping mine a single. This is a very straight forward build and the SIG kits are very well made. I highly recomend the...
Balsa USA 1/3 scale Ercoupe build log
มุมมอง 2.5Kปีที่แล้ว
I had a lot of photos of my model Ercoupe from when l was building and thought l would create a video of the build to encourage other areomodellers to give scale building a try. I was wanting to build it to a F4H standard for the FAI world championship in scale aeromodelling. I enjoy the building more than the flying but l think these planes need to be flown and that is one of the joys of makin...

Did you use the original pre bent wire landing gear? if not, what did you go with for the landing gear? The wire kit seems a bit small for the weight of the bird.. Beautiful build-out.

Love the craftsmanship here. Customizing a hangar 9 d7. Would like to do lozenge pattern. Any tips on how to get the pattern accurate? Stencils etc? Thank you

A friend of mine traced the 5 coulor Lozenge pattern from a downloaded file and converted to a format for laser cutting. Sized it to 1/4 scale and laser cut sheets of large format paper into the individual segments for each coulour. I then air brushed each pattern carefully overlapping the other lozenge pattern. Thats a rough idea of how. The paper used was paper that was used as seperating sheets between new litho plate sheets from a printer. It was about 100 gsm and was a dry feeling paper, My friend experimented with his aser cuttrer th get it not to burn and it worked out perfectly.

Beautiful work Tim. Did you modify the incidence of the wing? I read that by default, the incidence is like +5 degrees or something like that. Too much!

    • @timsaircrafthanger1505

I cannot remember exactly what l did to be honest but l no l did modify the wing struts slightly. Also found over time that l had to lock the front wing strut next to firewall in to stop the wing from lifting under load which does change the incedence. Even with the preloaded built in the timber blocks over time reduce the preloaded and allows the wires to move in an outward direction from the fuselage. Hope this advice helps.

Very nicely done, what size engine? Mine i can't seem to stop the climbing, with rcgf 26. Going to try over propping it.

      @timsaircrafthanger1505 ปีที่แล้ว

I have a OS GT22 in it. Does want to climb when at full power but can trim it ok. The rcgf26 maybe a bit more power than needed but maybe push you motor down using washers behind standoffs changing thrust line and see if it's any better.
