Great video! You're a natural educator and easy to listen to. My challenge is #10... letting it go. I kill my time by going back to make adjustments. *insert scream here*
Thanks so much Christina!! Oh man, hahaha I feel ya. Sometimes it helps me to take a quick picture of the makeup with my phone and analyze the photo instead of the face. It's less distracting and you're able to look at the makeup as a whole!!
Sorry I find taking a picture is the worst thing to do! Cameras can’t draw things the same way the human eye sees. On camera I look pale, whenever I take pictures for Instagram or do videos for tik tok, I always have to apply way more makeup than I would use to go out because the camera washes it out. The flash and lens we use totally change how your face is seen. In real life, there's nothing targeting and bouncing light off of your face, washing out your features. Even if you use a ring light or give yourself lighting your still not getting a true representation of the makeup! X
You are so helpful! Thank you so much! I’m a bridal makeup artist and I feel like I struggle with my timing every time. But your tips definitely opened up my eyes on things I can be doing from now on❤️💜❤️💜thank you!
I’m not a makeup artist and have watched endless videos on getting ready fast, but it takes me WAY too long to do so-so makeup - my problem is I’m always doing one more thing - blending more, adding more concealer, buffing out blush, etc. I probably use more brushes than you do on a client and I’m slow. I like doing makeup but lately it’s been agonizingly painful to never feel satisfied with what I’m seeing. Part of it could be I have so much variety to choose from and I like playing around, and I need to have a set supply I’m using for that day, but how do you help people get it done and get out the door? I’ve never taken so long before as I do now - maybe it’s because I see flawless people and can’t even knock out my under eye circles completely. Thanks.
Hey Wendy!! I totally get the frustrations of doing makeup on yourself!! Question - Have you taken a makeup lesson before? So many make-up artists offer them. It could be good to get a pro to use the makeup you already own and show you to do an everyday look and some ways to play or things to help you save time! Just a thought! Another thing that helps me is setting a timer and using products in multiple places. So when I’m using a bronzer/contour/cheek color I always put it in my crease as an eyeshadow base. 😊
Love it!! Always very helpful in giving tips, I like the idea of the eyes being focus, I know I don't add my foundation till after I do my eyes myself :) Have a good weekend, love and blessings xoxo
What is your favorite palette for depotting shadows? I have a few of the MAC ones and I just don’t feel to magnetic power is there so unless I use the inserts I find my shadows fly all over. I am trying to condense my kit (ugh always a project lol) but I need a good empty palette. Thank you I love you I love your videos!! I have been a working MUA/ cosmetologist for over 17 years and I always learn something new from you! I just got the soap for brows you recommend because I have a male only commercial coming up and I am hoping that will make them (business type men) feel less awkward then normal brow products!
Thank you so much for the comment Jennifer!! Haha, oh yes condensing the kit is such a task, haha! Hm, so the only products I have depotted are my blushes (I carry MUFE) and my brow powders (Anastasia/MAC) I use the Makeup Forever empty palettes, the insert is a pain and the palette itself is heavy... but I like that they are really sturdy, the magnet is strong and they're easy to clean. I've used Z palettes and MAC in the past.. but the MAC magnets aren't that strong and the Z-palettes always look dirty really fast! For eyeshadow I carry the Viseart Grande Matte Palette (worth it!) and some Kat Von D shimmers already paletted! Let me know what you decide!! Also you're going to LOVE the soap brows, such a good product for men's grooming :)
MakeupByShannonMarie I have the Viseart Grande pro and LOVE it! I have a bunch of MAC, MUFE, and some ABH that I wanted to get in one palette and totally agree with what you said about the MAC and Z palettes! I was thinking about the MUFE one but was worried about the magnet so thank you!! I am sooooo loving the soap!! Thank you so much for responding!!
Hey! Thank you sooo much for this video! & yes the information is very helpful .. I was wondering do you cleanse your clients face before application? If so make a video on skin prep for clients please!
