I would like to admit an error I made in data collection that reported on ToF revenue. My data was from SensorTower, which only compiles iOS purchases. The actual total ToF makes a month is ~$12 million USD (I believe this is globally, including CN).
Small fries! You're just reading the script I understand. No need to put the extra hours, journalism is stupid. Just Jump on the hate bandwagon it's easy views!
@@unicornharry7995 I don't hate ToF. I made a video to start a discourse. And then I even went a step further and corrected myself on the internet, as I don't want to mislead anyone. And you're still being negative in my comment section. Grow up lil bro
@@Haythxrn negative to say your jumped on the hate bandwagon? I am just saying it’s not dead. Every game is going to be inflated at the start. Only truth to the player base count is that it isn’t as high as some other games in its category. The numbers you see now is player base. It still rakes in good money across the platforms. Its a great game bottom line, better in most regards. Bad part is the menus starting story, and graphics. Bugs are not nearly as bad as people make it but the content is in the metric s tons.
My girlfriend and I are still new to Tower of Fantasy, but we're surprised at all the negativity you hear in most influencer videos. We are currently enjoying the 1.0 story from Asperia and are looking forward to the numerous stories and cutscenes and characters that we still have ahead of us. Even if the cutscenes are much less perfect and polished than we are used to from Genshin (animations are choppy, jump back to default position, voice lines are missing or present but are bugging out so you have to restart the game, etc), it's still a cool game so far. We've both spent a few bucks in the store and have been blatantly thrown SSR weapons at us, we have everything we wanted and a lot more. The gacha system is incredibly generous to new players, which really surprised us xD We'll see how it turns out later, whether we hit a hard paywall or whatever. But until then, we'll just have fun and not let ourselves be dragged down by TH-camrs predicting the end of ToF. No offense to you, I just see it all the time. Even if the game dies, we'll just make the best of the time we have left.
Enjoy yourself! :) As a real first day player, who didn't skipped any time from the game, I can assure you that, the game is one of the most generous in the gacha genre, but at the same time, always try to work in team, because it is an MMORPG, so everything is possible with a good team without whales and some well thought preparation with a slow and long gearing process :) The only part where you will find the pay wall is the Frontier Evolution, where you need extremely high versatility in comps and high dmg, which is really meant for whales for some extra loot, but everything else is only depends on your party and preparation, sooo good luck! :D
It’s good to hear you and her are enjoying it. This game was very special to me when it first game out and I was grinding through the story and early worlds. I hope you two make memories together playing, I have lots of positives ones about ToF! It’s just not the game for me (and for most of the gacha community) anymore and I really really wish some of the issues I brought up in the video had been fixed. Maybe I’d still be playing
played since day 1, spend quite a bit, still fun! as long as you have friends to play, this game is fun! collecting costumes and designing main character diversely is one of the best TOF feature that very few MMO had it. i hope you keep enjoying the game! no need to think hard to beat the game or being competitive, just do what u want to do together with your girlfriend and your friends.
@@Lunarparadoxical Yes, over a month has now passed and I can already confirm parts of it. I still enjoy playing it, but the UI on the Playstation is terribly fiddly, I've rarely seen anything so horrible on console. Also, there are some 5-star weapons that I only use on the overworld, for instances I switch to weapons that I've put a lot less effort into leveling up and that still do 5x damage. And I wish I was exaggerating at this point, but no... it's the game that exaggerates. Absolutely ridiculous power creep :( But it's still fun. For now.
I personally love TOF. The character designs, fluid cutscene animations, and wide variety of NPCs, the combat, etc. I find myself enjoying TOF way more than genshin because to be honest, genshin (especially someone who is in endgame) is just ult, e, click click, swap character repeat process. TOF however the combat is engaging and interesting, with each weapn having a slew of different animations and play style. Some weapons are best if you click, then hold, then do a sequence of moves, etc.
The issue is alot of people do not see past the 1.0 experience. I understand your video is more about hype and player interests and i do agree where your comming from however alot of what u mentioned has been fixed. Even power creep is not much of an issue now thanks to world level. But even still People still see tof in that old 1.0 Light. For example tech tone.
I did play up until 3.0. My experience throughout all of Vera and Innars was exactly the same as 1.0, if not worse. Trust me, I have hundreds and hundreds of hours in ToF, and I even acknowledge that this game still is home to a tight knit community. It’s my personal review of the game
@@Haythxrn I never saw this video as a review really. For me it seemed more like why tof fell off after launch kind of thing. Anyway u are free to your opinion and whether or not the experience is better is very much up to u. In my view being someone who has played ever since saki was a thing i have seen vast improvement. And they have partially fixed the powercreep by adding the world level system. For me power is not an issue unless u are aiming to go hi level in bygon, origin of war or solo world bosses. And im saying this as a f2p. Allso power very much depends on the specific team and build u have (as in what weapons u are using and how they work with other weapons). For example my world explore team is rubillia,yu lan and alyss. They work very well with alyss trait and sweeping force from yu lan. yu lan is 3 star rubillia is 1 and alyss 5 star atm. Getting new weapons isn't a must anymore like it was b4. And allso every new release is not an upgrade to what u had b4. Fenrier is still very much usefull even now and she is in standard now witch means people can get her with gold rolls.
@@Haythxrn The game before 3.0 was terrible Unbalanced PVP favoring P2W The characters' combat very bad the current PVP has been balanced, Events give more gifts, free vehicle skins Old players get gifts for helping new players 1.0 / 2.0 bad game.
First impression lasts. Remember that. Unless it is FF14, Cyberpunk 2077 or No Man’s Sky. But I think the reason those games bounced back was because people were already really hyped for those games and saw huge potential. For ToF, that wasn’t the case. A huge player count at the start was mostly because people wanted to play with their favorite streamer, most of those got sponsored, and even streamers who weren't interested in games like ToF got sponsored. After those streamers stopped, their followers had no reason to stick around to keep playing.
Another cloud reviewer I've seen so many uninformed reviews about this game from players who are still stuck in version 1.0. It's important to keep in mind that this game is an MMO, so it's not realistic to expect to complete all the content on your own. And these reviewers clearly don't understand powercreep, since the newer characters are only 10% stronger than the previous ones. The game revolves around four elements: Frost, Volt, Flame, and Phys, with an added Altered element. Each element character has a four-month cycle. Teams are formed based on elements, so you don't have to summon for every character, just one character of the same element. This element cycle means you only need to summon characters once every four months. To balance powercreep, the game gives you 80-100 summons with every patch. The locked content and chests were only a problem when the game first came out, but now players can choose their world level, either lowering or raising it based on their preference. The character designs and combat animations are absolutely breathtaking, with characters even being able to fly and transform into dragonflies. It's truly captivating. The only downside is the clueless reviewers who expect the game to be like Genshin and end up leaving without truly experiencing what the game has to offer. Then they go online and act like they know everything about the game, which is simply not true. Unfortunately, no matter how much the game improves in terms of quality of life, open world design, and overall awesomeness, it will always face criticism because of the abundance of reviewers who don't really know what they're talking about.
@stix, @asmongold ,@tecto-ne needs to hear this, this is the most perfect and honest review of the game, thanks for always being there for tower of fantasy😊
well, i have played the game a lot and my acc has over 7k dollars on it and i can clearly say most of the critism comes from powercreep, and they are not 10% they are like 1000% stronger because you forgot the matrices part; plus this characters cycles are nonses almost uselees, because every new character in a month or 2 loses like 70% of the power it had and when it comes back again it would be super dumb to pull for them again with newer character coming and they clearly are gonna be way stronger, thats why they wanted to make this "classic" server with aparently no powercreep the idea was interesting but i came late imo, most of the critism i heard are from players themselves since i dont follow any cc which as you say they missinforme as well, powercreep and there are more of back things i see in this game but it seems like the devs just dont want to "fix" this stuff which is a shame because i really love game and met awesome ppl in it too
@@joseflex0059 powercreep is not too much of an issue from what I seen. Specifically for world mobs as u can alter the level. And about the misinformation yes that is very much a thing as alot still think it's still like 1.0. not only that there is a vast hate towards this game and some people actually want it to die . Now dose the game have issues yes but is it the same as 1.0 absolutely not.
I understand where you’re coming from. I’d ask you this, were the problems i mentioned with the game not true? I didn’t base any judgment on the game from a subjective point of view, I simply listed issues from launch that led to the game not being AS popular, and then also filled in my own personal color to why I didn’t like the game, which is going to be different for everyone. I’m glad to hear they’ve made improvements and part of my video was to highlight the community of players, like yourself, who have stuck around to still enjoy the game - I hope you saw that part! Either way, i mean no bad blood towards ToF players this was simply my restrospective look at it
Well, I am here to say that global ToF is only *4 weeks behind* the CN ToF version at this point. Global ToF is only *one limited character banner behind* from its CN counterpart now. So @Haythxrn, you may be able to try out *ToF 4.0* as a returning player as soon as around May 22nd in the same week as the Wuthering Waves launch period. They will both keep you busy to experience any major new content. I hope you will be able to give us a comprehensive review/impression video next time of *Tower of Fantasy 4.0* more specifically as a returning player. 😎👍
I did see that they’ve effectively caught up! I will be back to try 4.0 mostly because of the overwhelming amount of comments saying it’s gonna be better. I’ll for sure make a new vid about it and interested to see what I think
Ah, yes, ONLY 4 weeks behind...definitely not like being a whole ahh character behind could mean a game defining advantage or disadvantage for a player 🙄💀 especially in ToF where power creep is known to be a problem...glad they're at least trying to fix the problem in 4.0 tho
Personally i loved TOF since the release, the thing is i can't play bcs my computer can't run the game and it crushes after 10min of playing or right after starting coop content :// kinda sad about the news, hope the game can get some spotlight in the future
Noooo I’m sorry to hear that. I have a decently built PC and even I would have crash and weird frame rate glitchiness all the time. I think them trying to optimize for mobile really did a disservice to the PC client cause they could have focused all on the PC version instead. The game is absolutely beautiful in some areas
I feel sorry for your experience. Maybe you could try the game again in 4.0, which is comming soon I still love ToF as a F2P player. World level has helped us a lot, as the fact that so many characters hit permanent less than a year after their release. You might be surprised to know that all the characters in the video are in the permanent pool rn, including Fenrir! I have an a6 Fenrir and haven't spent a single red nucleus for her Hope to see you soon ingame, otherwise I hope you enjoy WuWa or any other game!
Your comment is very fair and kind, I appreciate your insight! I am totally down to try in 4.0, and take a F2P approach as well. I played all the way up until 3.0 dropped, and by that point all of my friends and like 90% of my crew had quit. That's awesome you were able to make Fenrir, I loved her when she first released - Tian Lang was my absolute favorite character though
@@HaythxrnYou shouldn't waste your time with that game. There's a reason why people left and leaving. 4.0 is just the same thing but with a new area. I would recommend something better like Wuthering Waves or a non gacha game. Tower of Fantasy is isn't worth your time tbh
YuMe-nc2ce, obviously you’re hater. So keep your comments to yourself no one like haters for no reasons. Just because you hate game doesn’t make you tell them not to play it, that just plain rude of you
Started playing today, so I'm looking up various tips/tricks videos. I already am invested in everything Hoyo (not HI3) and WuWa, so I'm praying, although I hope I like TOF despite how complicated it sounds, that I won't get addicted to the gacha elements and can tolerate missing out on any given character.
That’s good to hear! To be transparent I spent thousands of $USD and none of my characters do anywhere sort of the damage needed to keep up with the meta leaderboards, which is why I myself played. From my understanding there still IS powercreep but you can really only feel the effects of it 6 months down the road
Yep but nothing when u always lose in every banner, So long waiting anymore on the same banner, n my mood not interest again. To much lose till dpression.. Time say goobye in the future when WW n ZZZ realese
@@Haythxrn Every gacha game will have stronger characters in the future, the difference is the size of the power, Tower 1.0 2.0 made characters useless after 6 months, But the newer characters are useful for a long time
As hsr player that just started ToF because I want to play a mobile mmo that’s fully open world; I got to say it’s been a nice experience. Putting genshin and hsr aside the voice acting in ToF is actually good, way better and a lot less cringe than some other mobile games that I’ve tried. It doesn’t have an auto quest feature that makes the game feels like it’s playing itself and the being able to customize your character and use multiple weapons is nice. For pc and console gamers, they can find many faults in the game but as a mobile gamer I think it’s one of the better games in the space. If talking from a tier list perspective; Hsr is S+, genshin is S and ToF is A. This is just a personal opinion though, others might feel differently.
That’s a fair rating. For me HSR is just too good to put down, I’ve been loving it. An MMO gacha is a tough balance for any developer and I just don’t think it worked out for ToF imo. But glad you enjoy some aspects of the game
I started playing TOF for the first time last week. Am new, and the game is stressful to grind and figure out, even more so when I play it on PS5! I will admit that I am starting to enjoy the game more, and also, the whole reason I started was because of the Evangelion Collab. So my goal is to get Rei right now. If you still play TOF, add me, man. i bet you could teach me a lot in this game.
That’s awesome you just started playing! Hopefully you’re enjoying it. For early game players, I’d highly recommend you check out a video I have on my channel that’s about maximizing your damage in ToF! It’ll be super useful for you as you progress your account
I think everyone should go into a gacha game knowing it will die at some point. So don't spend money if you think you will get the value of it for ever.
This is a great point, and something I didn’t learn until after I was done with Tower of Fantasy, since it was my first gacha game. I’ve approached genshin HSR and even afk journeys sooo much differently now knowing that fact you’ve mentioned
Nice vid Thxrn, and you made some solid points. Its def scary with Wuwas release around the corner genshin/hsr seem to be the only gachas that have found the formula for longevity in this genre of gaming. I'm hoping the power scaling of characters as the game releases new units is similar to genshin so that money spent isn't wasted.
Ty Mob! I mean personally I think that sort of power scaling would have been good in ToF. I’m excited for WuWa but just like you said, going into it with a bit of caution cause I’ve seen what happens when a game falls out quickly
This review is a joke. It's about old ToF, not the new ToF that has improved a lot since launch. There are still a lot of areas where the game can improve on, but it has improved nonetheless.
What about my review was a joke? I played the game religiously, daily for 9 months. That’s enough time to form an opinion on a game. If a game is horrible out of the gates, that is an impression it leaves on the base. I played up until 3.0 and I could not deal with any of the problems any longer, they were still there. Improvement is going to happen sure, but this game wouldn’t have fallen off if it was so good as you suggest
@Haythxrn you should have done this video a long time ago, not just 2 weeks ago. The problems in the game you have stated is old topic, and repeating them in a recent video just prevents potential new players from trying the game. Right now, We have new players on world chat saying that they actually find the game fun.
@@mjtan6787 I didn’t know there are rules about when you can drop a video. People make videos today about shit that happened in the 1960s. Should they have made those videos in 1963? People were still having fun in the game enjoying it when I quit as well, so that’s a mute point. I MYSELF was having fun before I quit. Just because some people still enjoy ToF doesn’t mean that it didn’t fall of drastically. If it was this suddenly amazing game people would be flocking to it. This fanbase is so dense I really do not understand the defensive nature over a gacha
This game is not as hyped anymore, and has its problems 🤷♂️, yeah its missing that obvious spark that gets ppl hooked, and it does have enough of everything that gets ppl to stay, but like pokemon go, the amount of players in and out settle on the average. That's just how it is. I haven't seen the game go low on players and even more new players came aboard when EvaXTOF was released and half of them stayed. There's always more than enough ppl playing the game willing to help, no matter what it is. For me, i love the fighting gameplay, its amazing, just my style😏👊.
That’s good you still are able to enjoy the game, totally not knocking on it for the people who do still play. If you saw the section towards the end I cover the community and how positive they are still. The video was more so to serve as a warning that a game sometimes can be very promising at first but poor developer decisions can take it down very quickly to the larger public, not saying to you
This is a really good video. I played Tower of Fantasy for about a month, and many of the issues you brought up are part of the reason why I stopped playing the game, and it's really good that you're bringing attention to the issues that many other games are susceptible to. Liked and subbed!
Thanks so much for the feedback and the like/sub! It is actually kinda sad when I looked back at it cause I loved the game at launch and a lot of other players did too, from what I hear. If there was something differently they could have done to keep that larger base around maybe we’d be having a different conversation about the game now
It was an MMO. Don't be an MMO. If some company right now would've released a game exactly like genshin, oh same/higher quality, with more serious tone and lots of uncensored fanservicy female characters -- it would've been an absolute mega hit.
I 100% agree with you, like an Elden Ring with anime style in my opinion would be enormous. MMOs are so hard to master, and it's even tougher to incorporate gacha into that game style mix
@@Haythxrn MMO players hate gachas, I will tell you that. I couldn't care less but hope that Genshin, WuWa and ToF shut down. They only make mobile game market flooded with P2W gacha systems. The only kind of gacha I would digest would be a gacha where you can spend max 30$ for pulls per month and you could farm the pulls infinitely by just playing the way you want (for example dropping premium currency by killing enemies, doing quests or from respawnable chests). You can make millions just by selling skins, especially in an anime weeb game.
I don't even know why you play those games in the first place. It's like wishing the coffee shop near your home to shut down because you only like to drink soft drinks. "They only make mobile game market flooded with P2W gacha systems" Buddy, I have a bad new to you. The mobile game market has already been plagued with pay to win bullshit much worse than these and offer far more less. With these types of games, they actually offer you something, with genshin for example offering you a large world to explore and an ever expanding story and lore to look forward to and you're not really forced to spend shit just to experience them.
@@lordrald09 I never said that I play those games, please don't put words in my mouth. If that "coffe shop" makes the drinks I like more expensive, then yes, I will care about it. And if you didn't notice the difference between before 2020 (when Genshin dropped) and after then it must mean that you were born in 2009, just like your nickname suggests.
Bruh, I've played much worse and far more greedy mobile games that makes genshin, wuwa, and tof look like a fucking baby in comparison. Also, you play a fucking MMO, I bet you don't even know how any of this shit works. Go back to those grindfest and stop making an opinion on something you possible know nothing about. "And if you didn't notice the difference between before 2020 (when Genshin dropped) and after then it must mean that you were born in 2009" sounds like someone born on 2012 will say tbh.
i tried genshin before ToF released and genshin always felt like something was missing, i couldn't get into it, felt like a chore just playing... then found ToF and i got hooked instantly. i've deleted and re-installed genshin maybe 4-5 times in the space of a year... but haven't even thought of doing that with ToF. hope ToF gets more players and continues for a very long time.
I don’t think it’s gonna get a lot more players in the long run. It’s an older game that’s going to continue to age. They’d have to pivot tremendously to recapture the market. Not saying it’s impossible but it’d take a massive shift on their end, and rn their formula is still making money so I don’t think the will. Again, all my opinion not based in fact
As a beta launch 1.0 up to 3.0 player. I agree with all the points in this video. I went from a fierce defender of the game and a whale to dolphin to disinterested and into giving up hope, its months and months of disappointment to the point where even after quitting for this long, even if the issues are fixed, game is great or even if it becomes top game will I ever come back to ToF. Used to really like the game but alas, it took a lot for me to leave the game for a less vibrant but better managed game. This game is one of its kind.
Over all comments summary: Genshin/wuwa fanatics: ToF bad, my game better, u ded ToFers: here is a structured reason list of why u ppl are wrong Genshin/wuwa fanatics: ToF bad, my game better, u ded
i love playing tower of fantasy but sometimes, i feel the game is slowly dying, i don't think players will come back no matter what they put in the game. if they really, want tower fantasy to survive. they need to the fix the problem. which is dead servers and lags and also stop the long grind of events.
I'm not a Nikke player, but I actually hear quite a bunch about Nikke from friends. Thing is, to play the game you have to fully assume that you're in for, well, Nikke content, and imho that's another entry barrier for it (although fully assumed by the devs).
i was there at tof's launch then stopped cuz got bored, now im back with a fresh acc and tbh enjoying it, altho i dont like some aspects i'd say its a good game. also nice analysis of how tof reached its demise
I joined the global Date a Live game community near the end of its time I had a blast with it while I was able to play then when I couldn’t I was heart broken it’s global presence died and to this day Idk how to get back to it even though I can’t read Chinese or Japanese I’d do anything to get back to date a live it was there for me before ggz the second gacha game I played with a similar play style to date a live
You forgot to mention the game has been released for 3 years or so now and it still crashes every 15-30 min and the devs don’t care and your down playing the power creep every gacha has power creep but tof makes this way worse
I was only referring to HSR as good end game. Genshin does not have good end game, I took a 2 month break from genshin this year cause there was nothing to do

My dude, you were one of my info resources early in my ToF gaming life; after all this time, I still remember your guide on how to maximize damage and crit from a year ago (I downloaded it for quick reference, watched it several times too xD). Surprised to see you in my YT feed having made this episode; I all but thought you've shut the door on the game, as many CCs have done already. Good on you bro, appreciate the drop by and warm if bittersweet remembrance of this game on its last legs.
Ty for such a nice comment bro! It’s so awesome to hear some of my previous content was helpful for you, that’s what I aim to do. I have quit the game altogether, but I did wanna make this video to show why ToF did have a special place in my head. In a way it still does, especially cause of the community I met during the game
I agree, I liked this game early on, was able to A6 Lin and get some of the A3 skins as an f2p. But partly the characters during that time become irrelevant because the game kept bringing out new shinier and way OP Simulacras that you feel dis attached to the game as a whole, the bugs and barrenness of the world. The convoluted story and even horrible voice acting did me in.
Relatively speaking it has certainly suffered a downfall. And it’s a retrospective perspective based on my play time (about a year) in relation to the games life cycle to the public eye. Ofc there are still people who play, at the end of the video I specifically highlight the community that is still active I hope you saw that part
nope its not dead at all. you pray to find alive bosses and world chat is always active in my server. lets not forget TOF is the only MMO anime gatcha that exists now and it improves constantly.
Thanks for your comment, hope you enjoyed! I realize a lot of people probably did play for a short period of time, and the games been under the radar since so I wanted to shine some light on it
@@Haythxrn Thank you for the response. I stopped playing the game early so I don't know much about it, that being said I do know that a big problem with it is the power creep, is that so big that a new player starting the game today won't be able to play without spending money (a lot)?
That’s good man, I’m glad that some players are still enjoying the game. My video wasn’t to say “you shouldn’t enjoy this game”, it was a look back at why I and many others no longer enjoy the game even though it had (or has) great promise
Great video and perspective on gacha games as a genre. I too feel like the sense of community and hype is an essential part of this type of games, probably more so than anything else. Keep it up!
@@Haythxrn With Genshin you can have a cross platform account between mobile and console, which was nice when I was away and didn't have access to my console. Not sure about PC though.
ToF did a LOT of things VERY right. Likely why I still play today. Jank never bothered me if a game is still fun to play. It never needed to be "AAA" for me. But it also did a lot of things VERY wrong for sure.
That's fair, I also agree it did a lot of things very right - a large variety/amount of multiplayer modes, incredible OSTs, skip button for the story, gadgets that made for very easy exploration, difficult combat content, very cool visuals, and the list goes on. I'm glad to hear you still play and enjoy it, cause tbh I wish I was in the same boat as you. The immense powercreep and $$$ cost of new characters is just too much for me to enjoy the game the way I like to enjoy these types of games
@Haythxrn yah for me I just enjoy collecting characters and trying new weapons. So one copy is always enough. I don't care about power or end game. So for me its pretty great.
I'm certainly down to check out 4.0. I played all the way up until 3.0, and I have hundreds of hours in the game. I used to be a top 10 Bygone and Sequential player. I have still been staying attached to what's going on in the community and still watching people like gateoo play to see new units and new maps
Thing with this game is, with the constant negative "Anchoring method" that Genshin paid bad actors in the content creator space together with the absurdly toxic Genshin community, the very unreasonable negative remarks along with the constant doomposting, it created this sort of bad perception to people which lead to its untimely loss of player base. Don't get me wrong, the game itself IS NOT perfect, it has it's flaws, but it did handle its issues waaaaaaaay better than Mihoyo ever did for Genshin, it gets content updates rolled out waaay faster, and Hotta was very generous to boot compared to Mihoyo. It's just really sad that the constant negative yet unfair review and doomposting really got into the heads of most of its playerbase which lead to its downfall. However, if you check its steam release a year after its stand alone release, you'll find that the reception towards it was mostly positive, this was a year after the negative campaign died down towards the game. Which tells me, that the game was never really that bad. It's just that there's so much negative controversy towards it in the beginning, and a lot of negative conditioning targeted toward its playerbase.
To be more exact people wanted this game to be that Genshin killer but they fucked up so much in the beginning to turn people away. First impressions are everything and if you have so many bugs and hacker issues it will paint a bad image that is very hard to recover from. This is why most players didn't bother with TOF anymore. There were just too many issues that players just got tired of dealing with.
@@wizkiller96tv I played this game long enough and it already got past those issues, and yet people who have literally nothing to do with the game threw insults at it like they were playing the game on a daily basis. Most people got carried away of the constant doomposting, I know this for a fact because a lot of my friends quit because of this, and when there's no one in the server, then you'd be left with a very strong world boss with no one to take it down. Also, no one in the international community called it the genshin killer, the term was coined in the CN region, and it wasn't even the devs that made that term. News of it reached the International Genshin Community, and the first thing they did was to hate on the game, rather than giving it a chance, top that with shady chinese business practices that pay off content creators to constantly doompost or sht on the game, of course people would get mind conditioned and lose interest in the game. Also, funny how these types of content are once again surfacing, just when a big TOF content is about to drop. Kinda suspicious tbh. Especially from a former TOF content creator who's reading a script and never even onced looked in front of the camera. Even tying it up to how WUWA could end up the same, and praising Hoyoverse and its games.
I was reading a script! I spent a lot of time writing out what I wanted to say. I played ToF from launch week until May 2023. I must have 500+ hours played in the game, I played all the way through Innars. I spent thousands of USD$ on the game. I have the experience to share my opinions on the game and what drove me away
I tried playing TOF when it launch and fell off after a few days. I came back when it came on the PS5 and I been logging on since then, but I barely play it. NGL, when I'm bored and want to actually play the game it becomes fun and I even have invested some money into it like getting the daily rewards for $5 a month and getting summons to get a certain character. I also like the gameplay and how the characters play and even how they look. I even like creating my own avatar and giving her big melons 😂 However, the story is boring to me and everything else is like meh. Especially when it comes to the Gacha system because every SSR character I gotten was either over 75 pulls or even at solid hard pity at 80/80 no joke! Even getting the special outfits can be a rip off no how much you have to spend to get them. So my Gacha experience with this game has always been bad. I guess even my first experience with the game was kinda bad and it still lingers around when I play it. I play many other Gahca games and TOF was one of my first MMOs too, but due to having the experience with other games and how this is, I just feel like this game had so much potential and it missed the mark at the beginning. Even now I can tell it's gotten better, but still there's something still missing IMO
LOL your point about character creation made me laugh. Glad to hear you've found a way to enjoy the game your own way. I agree with your last point alot though because it is just missing that X factor to keep a huge base attached, but I really loved the game for the 9 or so months I played
waHHTT MY THOUGHT ALRIGHT HERE GOES BUT IDK IF YOU EVEN READ IT BUT Ï TELL YOU ANYWAYS ---- I spent over $1000 on a PS5 because of the whole out of stock issue way back when. When I finnaly had got it set up I experienced all the high and lows but I wont go on anyways Then the phone games and NOW A PC GAME IS BEING PORTED OVER WHAT>>?!?!!? AND NOT ON XBOX WOW MY PS5 was worth the toll finnacially after all! So I instal the game thinking it is some niece unknown mmo, and unlike you I am a HUUGE MMO GUY! They were talking about the first Console only mmos and Playstation has the dedicated server with no cross play to pc so I guess it was really special. After I played the game for a while I got to about level 50 but now I had to fly out of the country where my PS5 is sitting dormant, maybe after 2 or 4 years when I come back and like you said fizzles out and dies completly and simply is shut down!!! Iunno I really liked it. THESE mmos are supposed to live forever but you see ToF is tackling an issue where MMOs on consoles simply could not hold up I can count on twwo hands the number opf console only mmos that dies like the way you explain/ I have not fell for the gatcha issues becaus like I explained erlier that I am very experienced in this regard. I play what is call (F2|P ) or free to play for all the laymen/ any way when I fly back in to America I will be setting up my PS5 and hoppiong onToF first or second thingI do for sure,.... what are you doing?!
ToF died at 1.0 but 3.0 to current 3.7 had fix a lot bugs and the game is more enjoyable. I wouldn't call it dead or in life support but more like people are expecting to be the genshin killer from the start and if not they just find another gacha game. Mind you it's only ToF 1.0.
I played up until 3.0. Playing a game daily for 9 months is more than enough time to gather a reasonable and substantial opinion of a game. If anything the game got worse throughout 2.0 because the powercreep was so insanely stupid. Trust me, I know about the powercreep because I idiotically whaled for every weapon and matrix set for a good while. Additionally, this was my first gacha so I didn’t even know what “genshin killer” meant, and this is still how I feel about ToF
What killed ToF is the atrocious powercreep. An A1 Fenrir outdamaged an A6 Alyss. And future characters followed suit. This started the vast exodus of players. Add the terrible lag in overworld that made world bosses unplayable. ToF deserved it’s downfall.
The threat of the reboot server killed tof, and streamers bitching about tof killed tof Mean while the game improves every update unlike other games that seem to decline every update
Did streamers "bitching" about ToF kill ToF, or did the things they were "bitching" about kill ToF? I think it's the latter, people would play this game if the problems I mentioned in the video (among others that I didn't mention) didn't exist. To be fair, streamers who love this game and played for months/years or still play to this day after still "bitch" about the game. That's the only way that improvements get made. I think it's disingenuous to just say Mr. Strimmer man didn't like my game and that's why it died
@@Haythxrn thing is mobile players didn't see the problems PC players did as a mobile player from day 1 I've had 1 issues and that was the occasional crash where the PC port for tof is plagued with problems and the game through streamers has been reported on through the lense of the PC port. And right when the game balanced out the streamers dropped it, honestly to me tectone shoulders the most responsible for the streamer side of tof flopping
I know a person that work at the company and she said she saw the current ToF sales and was actually impressed by it. It's not really WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE. So cheers! Perfomance gives them more 10 years
I’ve heard the $600mil revenue statistic floating around, which is certainly successful. I also understand that’s mostly CN, which is cool cause it still helps fund global. It’s just a shame this didn’t translate to the global community staying as alive as it was the first 6 months of the game
Wow, how nice. One source is all it takes to convince us. So powerful, so reassuring. 10 more years! Yess based on one anecdotal story. Ten Years woohoo so nice.
Nikke player are man of culture, they don't need or want to talk about staring at butt, they just do it. o7 the company knows what their base wants and how to keep them happy. different playerbase want different things.
Yeah having no cross collab is sad, but tbh Hoyoverse also doesn't have that, which I find super strange. Having all of the playerbase connected on ANY game is always better for multiplayer experiences
Lol, yeah only difference being umm.....ONE'S AN MMO THE OTHER IS A SINGLE PLAYER EXPERIENCE 🙄🤦♂️...oh, and WuWa devs care about the game and its players not just about making as much money off the players as possible as well as kuro already having a relatively successful gacha game on the market PGR even tho the marketing push for it wasn't great 👍 Also while hype is important cause it gets people interested and can bring in new players, what games like these do during their "dead" patches is just as if not more important cause you need to retain a player base...and that's where the game being consumer friendly, fun, and just a good game in general actually matters.
If you step away from worrying about the meta builds and just play the characters you like then the TOF changes a lot. You are correct that TOF does not have the buzz it had at the start. But rarely does the buzz in a gotcha game last and extended period of time. Honkai Star Rail is still chugging along but it isn't dominating all of the gatcha sites. After coming from playing World of Warcraft for 12+ years I got used to the "WOW Killer' label being put on anything that even remotely looked like WOW. And it's still chugging along but it's another game that doesn't have the same buzz it has. A good measurement of the life of a Gatcha is how much it made on a monthly and yearly amounts both with global as well as CN. That really gives an idea of the strength of a game or whether it is slowly dying.
WoW is a top 10 game of all time so of course it will continue to chug along without intense mainstream attention. and I never even played WoW, but I respect it to that magnitude. You cannot compare that to ToF in any regard, outside of them being MMOs. ToF has been tanking in global revenue, I can’t speak to the CN numbers obviously I don’t think we get full reports to those. ToFs buzz has died and I think that is the main factor of a game dying overall in the public’s eye. But I totally understand why people still like it even if it’s not as popular as it once was, cause at its core it’s a good game with some good mechanics, because I myself loved the game and really enjoyed my primetime of playing it
Early on the characters were all unique and special (despite the insane powercreep), but now every character is similar. Just a skinny woman with big boobs in a tight outfit.
Limited banners make up the biggest piece of incoming revenue for gachas, and to your point if people aren't liking the character design and/or story, you have a problem. I think they have a decent variety of character kits, but I can see your point
This was a really fun watch! I was a first day ToF player and quickly realised all the issues within the first week and dropped it. I have really really high hopes for WUWA and I don't THINK that the reception is gonna be nearly as bad coz they do seem to have a way higher level of polish! But lets see! great video
Appreciate the comment and thank you! I wish I had fully processed some of the flaws with the game earlier on so I didn’t get trapped in the whale cycle for too long. But I hope you’re right about WuWa, I’m excited for the game and will definitely be playing on launch day
I have heard that it's now only 1 month behind CN, previously it was 6 months (I think) when I played. Either way, not having them synced sucks imo cause it ruined any surprise for anything. It was like having super leaks for literally everything
None of the statements I made were” THIS WILL HAPPEN 100%”, it was to start a dialogue. Everyone streamed ToF at first as well lil bro. It takes years to really judge a games success
stumbled upon this vid by chance. You mentioning this was your first gacha AND mmo kinda explains it all. Ive been into the gacha\mmo scene for 10+ years, and you could tell from the early signs honestly. 1)story wasnt compelling at all, even after Vera release. 2) world was mostly empty. even after Vera there was almost no coop at all. 3)the predatory gacha, compared to genshin where you retain your pity, in ToF you just waste it, and since you need stars to unlock "must have" passives, it meant hoarding for months if you were F2P. 4)powercreep was too fast, which was also a sign that the game was cashing out on players. ToF had a stroke of luck to release before Sumeru's release during a stale period in genshin, but failed to capitalize on it. It also failed at solving gamebreaking bugs, crashes and actually hearing the playerbase. if you are greedy AND deaf, thats what you get.
I totally understand what you mean and agree with your 4 points. Hopefully you're not calling me greedy and deaf lol that is pretty harsh. It's a learning experience we all need to go through, I just happened to have this experience on ToF, but I'm glad I have that experience now cause I won't make the same mistakes
after you said "after vera and pity doesn't carry over?" your statements starting from there are full of errors already.. but you are entitled to your own conclusion i guess
@@schizoprenic1301 enlighten me on the errors then. their pity system was shit, reason why most F2P quit even before VERA's introduction. I endured until that abyss region got introduced, but all my points held true to that point. When servers got merged that was already a warning sign.
It's tough for ANY game when global is behind CN imo. Us knowing what all the content was going to be 6 months ahead of time ruined a lot of the hype brought by everyone simultaneously experiencing the reveals together.
Let me ask you two questions 1. Are you a week 1 player? 2. If you are, is the game the same as it was the first week, even first month, even first 6 months? If your answer to both of these is yes, you are coping out of your mind. It’s okay for a game to fall off, and for you to still enjoy one that has fallen off. But let’s not pretend ToF is thriving by any means
@@Haythxrn The game is honestly better than it was when it started. I get if there is not much of a media aspect to the game (content creation), but that doesn’t mean the game is bad. If you were gonna talk about anything, I would have thought you would have argued that power creep is ruining the game.
At first playing it was (WAS) really great but after few patch further with the release of new simulacra/weapon, I then realised it's extremely hard for casual, solo & f2p player to survive & constantly enjoy the content. & For keep catching up contents. From my exp, - has lots of bug unsolves - old weapon is hardly to be relevant when new patch released & compete new weapon & to complete new contents. - if you are weak, low grade, u are useless in the game & probably will be alone unless you join guild. - not f2p friendly. - the story still has a room for refinement Basically i deduct the game is specially made for whalers & hardcore player/ full time gamer. Not to be rude but the game seems like for a pervs cuz they only serve almost naked femalesSSS.
The solo piece as a F2P is tough, but tbf it is an MMO so I actually really like working together with others! The story wasn’t enough to keep people intrigued between banners, or have them check back in at points during the year sadly. But your point about old weapons being irrelevant was the hardest for me too, and I even played for a good long while. I guess they’ve made 3.0 and onwards weapons less powercreeped but still. Thanks for your comment and discussion!
@@Haythxrn I agree with you. I still lowkey hoping for that game to be a lil nicer & more diverse in simulacra. Though I turn to hate the game but it is still the best ever gacha mmo arpg i ever play bcuz of its argp mechanics system complexity.
you may want to make this kind of video once a week like stix did. (he is rly famous in tof community). well, at this point the doomposters are way more competent than the actual very little tof CC.
I know the ToF community really doesn’t like Stix, partially cause he didn’t play the game. I on the other hand played this game extensively from launch until 3.0. I have spent hundreds of hours and thousands of $USD. AND I was an actual content creator for this game for months. I am not doomposting I’m sharing my own experiences AND I literally watched the servers I was on have their played bases evaporate because they didn’t want fo play anymore. I also spent a good deal of time at the end of this video still praising the players who play the game
Your audio was a bit low. I know its not related to the video but I wanted to make you aware of it. Also, it was easy to tell that you were reading of a script and therefore you felt a little bit monotone and dry in the way you spoke. Hope the feedback helps 👍
That’s really good feedback ty! I’ll boost the audio for my next vids and I definitely will practice being less monotone, this is the first video I’ve done in a video essay type format. Appreciate the comment
It was good until they made very bad decisions, like when they decided not to do anything about the bug that gave whales double rewards. They lost credibility that day in my opinion. Not prioritizing the fairness to all players, F2P players are actually the backbone of any gacha games. Yes, it's good to make your whales happy but to double down the unfairness of whaling in gacha is bad. Everyone already knows that whales will always be ahead of anyone, yet F2P players still play the game because they know that whales make the game alive. So, to be lazy about fixing a bug and to double down that decision by emailing everyone that they decided to not fix it because they saw that the majority did pull that week is downright corruption. Fixing that bug is a win for all, no harm done, but not fixing it and making the minority unhappy about it, you lose one side. This results to distrust and is bad in the long run.
Whales do support the game financially, but i agree that F2Ps boost player retention metrics and do their part in the community spaces. It's a disservice to prioritize either group - devs need to pay attention to both types of player in their own specific way to keep the larger community happy. IMO Honkai Star Rail does an amazing job of this
I don't care and I will not care, ToF had a FUCKTON of problems. 1. 1:15 You used Sobek as an example, NOONE from my guild enjoyed fighting that boss, when it would jump out randomly from underwater and oneshot you. 2. Shame you glossed over the fact that, the game was barely playable with more than 20 players on screen because of the shitty servers. 3. 2:48, So, by being a whale you avoided one of the most frustrating aspects of the game, the fact that the developers amplified the exp gain massively, 100% of F2P players were too weak to properly complete the grind for matricies, it was legitemately exhausting and to be honest you were HOPING to encounter a whale just to be able to complete somewhat reliably. 4. Adding to that: I hated feeling useless in those scenarios, when a whale was doing 20x my damage, a lose-lose scenario, struggle for upwards of an HOUR, or be useless and carried by a whale. 5. 4:36, now that's a disgusting lie, they were not useless because of "new mobs and endgame content" but massive powercreep by new characters. 6. 7:02, Saying "hoyo buff" is copium, the game is just not good and you proved that by showcasing that Nikke is doing extremely well. Bad games die because they are bad, if the same fate strikes Wuthering Waves? Unlucky Top-up bonueses last for MONTHS, spending money within the first month of a new gacha game is just irresponsible.
Hey man, you don’t have to tell me this twice lol I agree with the points you’re making. I don’t actively enjoy the game, and for the sake of the video I wanted to avoid being a total doom poster and actually consider people who dislike the game and those who still enjoy it, so maybe you’re seeing my opinions as swaying neutrally. By no means am I supporting the practices, especially the powercreep/expensiveness of the game. There is legitimately a P2W version of a pet in game now that whales have bought for around $200 that does more damage than casual F2Ps full team comps do
@@Haythxrn which is crazy, because they rack some big money on the first month when they release it on global. Big potential tho, sad its dying or dedge now, I really tried to love the game.
Look most haters we get in ToF are usually influencers promoting Wuthering Waves, wich one its own is like Genshin on UI and payment gachas, but also highly unstabile, especially even if you let it fix your files if they are corrupted (wich they clearly are not), it tends to crash or freeze outside the CN servers. You think Kuro will fix it, don't count on it, unlike Genshin impact, Wuthering Waves is a true cash mule.
Braindead comment. I wrote a script so I could articulate my points better, I’m not gonna spend a month memorizing it you absolute moron. Thank you for the engagement on the video btw
I’m not understanding the question. Do I need to be a big TH-camr to make a video about my experience with a game I played religiously for 9 months, was commander of a top 5 ranked crew in, and hosted a community discord server of? Contribute to the discourse/discussion that I’ve opened instead of dismissing me because you don’t know who I am
Look if Wuthering Waves fails we can just go back to Genshin and wait for Azur Promilia. If that fails too, guess what 😅 Genshin will always be around.
Yes, I’m not saying this as a Hoyo shill but their games are the golden standard of gachas, they are the biggest for a reason. And them always being around is due to how well the company promotes the game and how they engage the audience/community. So I’m with you there
@@kkurston Genshin is in the midst of between patches of major world updates. As soon as Natlan comes out it will be right at the top of the category again. I have my gripes with the game, but as they as they continue marketing the game and investing in the content creator community the game will not fall off
Yeah unfortunately that's any gacha game for that matter, cause during dead patches in the other gachas I play, I log in do dailies and log out. It's just whether or not you enjoy all the other aspects of the game during it's more lively periods as to if you stick around
In the video I stated my opinion was good financials isn’t equal to game being alive. Plus I played ToF religiously for almost 8 months, and I saw the player count on the North America servers completely evaporate. I even acknowledged the smaller community still left that’s 100% still alive
I just saw a reddit post about how tof now and it's still worst.. Bad events, power creep, whale focus, overly monetized, poorly optimized in mobile, bad gears, not newbie/f2p friendly etc People defending it here doesn't even mention these big problems, yeah so the patch 1.0 problems gets fixed(?), is it better now? Still fucking no
I wholeheartedly agree with you. It's okay that players want to defend a game they enjoy, but as for the problems I mentioned in the video, the only thing I've heard back in the comments is "game alive, and powercreep not as bad" which I think is cope. Myself, my crew, and my friends would not have quit and stayed off the game for this long if they actually fixed the big issues
They did eventually merge a bunch of the servers together into mega servers, which did help. But to my understanding there were always connection and glitch issues for some players
You do realize most video essays utilize a script. I didn’t want this to just be stock footage that’d be just as boring and disingenuous. I’m not gonna spend a year memorizing a script for a 10 min TH-cam video, so yes I need to use my eyeballs to look down at the script. Can you send me the link to your TH-cam video so I can check out your recordings?
I actually thought the QOL on launch wasn't horrible, but the poor performance for the first couple months did prevent an enormous, dedicated base to be established. The over monetization was my biggest pushing point and this is coming from someone who has no problems whaling in gacha games. Others may feel differently, but I enjoy playing the meta and being strong (that's why and how I play these games) and in this game, in order to do that, you have to spend a tremendous amount of money
You say the game is dead isn’t even the truth 😂🤦♀️
@@xxxnarurto5747 it’s okay to admit a game is dead even if you still play it
@@Haythxrn negative to say your jumped on the hate bandwagon? I am just saying it’s not dead. Every game is going to be inflated at the start.
Only truth to the player base count is that it isn’t as high as some other games in its category. The numbers you see now is player base. It still rakes in good money across the platforms. Its a great game bottom line, better in most regards. Bad part is the menus starting story, and graphics. Bugs are not nearly as bad as people make it but the content is in the metric s tons.
ToF player here just wanted to drop and say the game has improved a lot and defo worth checking out/giving a 2nd change imo.
The gacha system is incredibly generous to new players, which really surprised us xD
We'll see how it turns out later, whether we hit a hard paywall or whatever. But until then, we'll just have fun and not let ourselves be dragged down by TH-camrs predicting the end of ToF. No offense to you, I just see it all the time. Even if the game dies, we'll just make the best of the time we have left.
Enjoy yourself! :)
As a real first day player, who didn't skipped any time from the game, I can assure you that, the game is one of the most generous in the gacha genre, but at the same time, always try to work in team, because it is an MMORPG, so everything is possible with a good team without whales and some well thought preparation with a slow and long gearing process :) The only part where you will find the pay wall is the Frontier Evolution, where you need extremely high versatility in comps and high dmg, which is really meant for whales for some extra loot, but everything else is only depends on your party and preparation, sooo good luck!
The community is disgusting. That's why the game is bad. Also graphics, ui optimization, characters, power creep ruin everything.
Absolutely ridiculous power creep :(
But it's still fun.
The combat in ToF is great agreed. There’s a layer of extra knowledge required to get rotations and skills down to max damage
@@Haythxrn
The game before 3.0 was terrible
Unbalanced PVP favoring P2W
The characters' combat very bad
the current PVP has been balanced,
Events give more gifts, free vehicle skins
Old players get gifts for helping new players
1.0 / 2.0 bad game.
This is an issue a majority of people experience regardless of any influencer. It's called first impression bias.
Another cloud reviewer
I've seen so many uninformed reviews about this game from players who are still stuck in version 1.0.
Now dose the game have issues yes but is it the same as 1.0 absolutely not.

useful life, Do not lose 70% of power
Power creep was a problem before 3.0
I understand where you’re coming from.
Will it ever catch up?
Ah, yes, ONLY 4 weeks behind...definitely not like being a whole ahh character behind could mean a game defining advantage or disadvantage for a player 🙄💀 especially in ToF where power creep is known to be a problem...glad they're at least trying to fix the problem in 4.0 tho
Personally i loved TOF since the release, the thing is i can't play bcs my computer can't run the game and it crushes after 10min of playing or right after starting coop content ://
kinda sad about the news, hope the game can get some spotlight in the future
Noooo I’m sorry to hear that. I have a decently built PC and even I would have crash and weird frame rate glitchiness all the time. I think them trying to optimize for mobile really did a disservice to the PC client cause they could have focused all on the PC version instead. The game is absolutely beautiful in some areas
I feel sorry for your experience. Maybe you could try the game again in 4.0, which is comming soon
I still love ToF as a F2P player. World level has helped us a lot, as the fact that so many characters hit permanent less than a year after their release. You might be surprised to know that all the characters in the video are in the permanent pool rn, including Fenrir! I have an a6 Fenrir and haven't spent a single red nucleus for her
Hope to see you soon ingame, otherwise I hope you enjoy WuWa or any other game!
Characters from 3.0/3.1 onwards have
long lives, Characters like Liu Huo and Zeke
are still strong today
That’s good to hear! To be transparent I spent thousands of $USD and none of my characters do anywhere sort of the damage needed to keep up with the meta leaderboards, which is why I myself played. From my understanding there still IS powercreep but you can really only feel the effects of it 6 months down the road

@@Haythxrn Hsr is my main game, just trying out other stuff until new update and when WuWa releases
HSR top-tier, AGREED.
It’ll be super useful for you as you progress your account
what region you play?
I think everyone should go into a gacha game knowing it will die at some point. So don't spend money if you think you will get the value of it for ever.
This is a great point, and something I didn’t learn until after I was done with Tower of Fantasy, since it was my first gacha game. I’ve approached genshin HSR and even afk journeys sooo much differently now knowing that fact you’ve mentioned
that goes for every online game
If there was something differently they could have done to keep that larger base around maybe we’d be having a different conversation about the game now
Just started ToF myself about a week ago and it is some of the most fun I’ve had in a game in years ( I subscribed to wow for 20 years)
It was an MMO.
"They only make mobile game market flooded with P2W gacha systems"
Buddy, I have a bad new to you.
Your first experience with this game sounds like mine with Genshin, which I haven't felt before nor since.
This game is one of its kind.

i love playing tower of fantasy but sometimes, i feel the game is slowly dying, i don't think players will come back no matter what they put in the game. if they really, want tower fantasy to survive. they need to the fix the problem. which is dead servers and lags and also stop the long grind of events.
I really did like the game at it’s peak
I'm not a Nikke player, but I actually hear quite a bunch about Nikke from friends. Thing is, to play the game you have to fully assume that you're in for, well, Nikke content, and imho that's another entry barrier for it (although fully assumed by the devs).
i was there at tof's launch then stopped cuz got bored, now im back with a fresh acc and tbh enjoying it, altho i dont like some aspects i'd say its a good game. also nice analysis of how tof reached its demise

If you go on your account rn and pull A0 of the newest character, they’ll do 3x the damage of any DPS on your account from when you used to play I stg
Is it dead? Still play it everyday and world boss events still get many people. Game has improved a fuckton
So why the Hell are you claiming the game is dead? When they’re players still in the game?!
Thank you for video. Has someone that played TOF for a short time I was curious when I saw you title.

@@Haythxrn Thank you for the response. I stopped playing the game early so I don't know much about it, that being said I do know that a big problem with it is the power creep, is that so big that a new player starting the game today won't be able to play without spending money (a lot)?

I see players returning after 4.0 so many players pop up around me
Still alive bro, update soon lol. Still playing since day 1 , you missed EVA collab
I even like creating my own avatar and giving her big melons 😂
However, the story is boring to me and everything else is like meh.
ToF reminded me a lot of Wildstar, given their similar feeling theme.
The threat of the reboot server killed tof, and streamers bitching about tof killed tof
Mean while the game improves every update unlike other games that seem to decline every update
Nikke player are man of culture, they don't need or want to talk about staring at butt, they just do it. o7
the company knows what their base wants and how to keep them happy. different playerbase want different things.
TOF version 4.2 is where dev follow The culture 😁
As soon as there was no cross link to ps5 made me wonder why they even made a ps5 version lol.
Yeah having no cross collab is sad, but tbh Hoyoverse also doesn't have that, which I find super strange. Having all of the playerbase connected on ANY game is always better for multiplayer experiences
Это была единственная игра которая действительно была RPG а не просто писала фразу RPG в своём описании
Lmao this video is coming to life WuWA is the new ToF😂😂😂 congratulations
LOL we’ll see how it pans out in a couple more months, but I could kinda see some similarities that’s all I was saying😭
thats cool, but theyre different genre tho, i still playing both of em, so its fine for me.
Lol, yeah only difference being umm.....ONE'S AN MMO THE OTHER IS A SINGLE PLAYER EXPERIENCE 🙄🤦♂️...oh, and WuWa devs care about the game and its players not just about making as much money off the players as possible as well as kuro already having a relatively successful gacha game on the market PGR even tho the marketing push for it wasn't great 👍
Also while hype is important cause it gets people interested and can bring in new players, what games like these do during their "dead" patches is just as if not more important cause you need to retain a player base...and that's where the game being consumer friendly, fun, and just a good game in general actually matters.
you get a like for the envi bit.
LOL I'm glad someone recognized where that was from xdd
@Haythxrn well I should be the only one being praised the for recognizing that... hahaha that clip gets me every time
Don't forget Project Mugen waiting in the wings too
true. I’m more excited for WuWa than PM, but ofc we know more about WuWa as it’s right around the corner. I’ll definitely check out both of them
If you step away from worrying about the meta builds and just play the characters you like then the TOF changes a lot.
But I totally understand why people still like it even if it’s not as popular as it once was, cause at its core it’s a good game with some good mechanics, because I myself loved the game and really enjoyed my primetime of playing it
Nah tof is surviving
I spoke about the smaller but yet still intact community at the end of the video. It certainly has fallen off though
WuWa made me want to come back and play ToF again xD
This was a really fun watch! I was a first day ToF player and quickly realised all the issues within the first week and dropped it. I have really really high hopes for WUWA and I don't THINK that the reception is gonna be nearly as bad coz they do seem to have a way higher level of polish! But lets see! great video
Appreciate the comment and thank you! I wish I had fully processed some of the flaws with the game earlier on so I didn’t get trapped in the whale cycle for too long. But I hope you’re right about WuWa, I’m excited for the game and will definitely be playing on launch day
I tell you why: CN version is ahead of global therefore it shall never be as successful as honkai star rail, period.
I have heard that it's now only 1 month behind CN, previously it was 6 months (I think) when I played. Either way, not having them synced sucks imo cause it ruined any surprise for anything. It was like having super leaks for literally everything
i remember maxing my Lin. best girl back then sadly i quit
Yeah, and now if you pull the new altered units at A0, they’ll do 10x the damage as your Lin. So that’s fun
is TOF has been fix it? there no lag while cutscene?... I want to play but i am afraid lagging while playing and my phone using chipset snapdragon 870
Personally I’m not sure how it runs on mobile, I always played on PC
the Thumbnail is a gigantic copium
everyone is streaming Wuwa now lol
Tower of fantasy died out of greed and more greed. Rip
Tower of Fantasy isn’t even dead game. There always players in the chat so no isn’t dead 😂
Ahh dragon ball legends y'all know with the 6th anniversary they gonna make a bag
I know nothing about that game tbh
Nobody cares about eos or anything..Its common, everything started has its end.. Gacha player just play until it end..
Another misinformation video.
Denounced for erroneous information.
Please point me to the erroneous disinformation in this video
No fresh content in global only in cn datz why content creator left this game
It's tough for ANY game when global is behind CN imo. Us knowing what all the content was going to be 6 months ahead of time ruined a lot of the hype brought by everyone simultaneously experiencing the reveals together.
Is tof closing?
“Downfall of TOF” how??? Because the people in your circles don’t like the game?
Let me ask you two questions
@@jikookietings2507 I did talk about that. It’s a main portion of my video, did you watch the entire thing? Go to 4:13 in the video
Here's a tip, look at the camera.
Yo that’s a crazy good idea bro. I’ll actually open up my Microsoft Word document IN THE CAMERA so I can look into it and read at the same time
At first playing it was (WAS) really great but after few patch further with the release of new simulacra/weapon, I then realised it's extremely hard for casual, solo & f2p player to survive & constantly enjoy the content. & For keep catching up contents.
From my exp,
- has lots of bug unsolves
- old weapon is hardly to be relevant when new patch released & compete new weapon & to complete new contents.
- if you are weak, low grade, u are useless in the game & probably will be alone unless you join guild.
- not f2p friendly.
- the story still has a room for refinement
Basically i deduct the game is specially made for whalers & hardcore player/ full time gamer.
Is honkai impact dead?
you may want to make this kind of video once a week like stix did.
Unlucky
Top-up bonueses last for MONTHS, spending money within the first month of a new gacha game is just irresponsible.
There is legitimately a P2W version of a pet in game now that whales have bought for around $200 that does more damage than casual F2Ps full team comps do
I miss Icarussy 😢
Truly the most broken gacha character of all time
Doesn’t really play the game but likes to trash it. Another desperate content creator lookin for views.
I can guarantee I have more hours played than you do. I played for 500+ the opening 9 months of the game lil bro
the game is just too buggy for me.
The lack of polish does show, even though they've made improvements recently. It felt like a beta upon release imo
You think Kuro will fix it, don't count on it, unlike Genshin impact, Wuthering Waves is a true cash mule.
bruh legendary cope.
Read your script
Braindead comment. I wrote a script so I could articulate my points better, I’m not gonna spend a month memorizing it you absolute moron. Thank you for the engagement on the video btw
t om f
sorry i had to

Who even is this guy lol?
I’m not understanding the question. Do I need to be a big TH-camr to make a video about my experience with a game I played religiously for 9 months, was commander of a top 5 ranked crew in, and hosted a community discord server of? Contribute to the discourse/discussion that I’ve opened instead of dismissing me because you don’t know who I am
should he ask you permission before posting?
Look if Wuthering Waves fails we can just go back to Genshin and wait for Azur Promilia. If that fails too, guess what 😅
Genshin will always be around.
Yes, I’m not saying this as a Hoyo shill but their games are the golden standard of gachas, they are the biggest for a reason. And them always being around is due to how well the company promotes the game and how they engage the audience/community. So I’m with you there
Genshin fallen off big time these days and it will continue.
@@kkurston i started Honkai Star Rail a few days ago and cant put it down. I might even skip WuWa.
@@kkurston Genshin is in the midst of between patches of major world updates. As soon as Natlan comes out it will be right at the top of the category again. I have my gripes with the game, but as they as they continue marketing the game and investing in the content creator community the game will not fall off
@@PijamaKing HSR is my favorite game atm it’s just so good
Honestly until now i played this game..
Ehmmm but nothing special more for me cause bla bla bla
Login just clear daily quest n logout again hha,
Yeah unfortunately that's any gacha game for that matter, cause during dead patches in the other gachas I play, I log in do dailies and log out. It's just whether or not you enjoy all the other aspects of the game during it's more lively periods as to if you stick around
so $600 million revenue is dead according to this youtuber
In the video I stated my opinion was good financials isn’t equal to game being alive. Plus I played ToF religiously for almost 8 months, and I saw the player count on the North America servers completely evaporate. I even acknowledged the smaller community still left that’s 100% still alive
600 million with most of them from first year 😂
Did you even see the video?
I just saw a reddit post about how tof now and it's still worst.. Bad events, power creep, whale focus, overly monetized, poorly optimized in mobile, bad gears, not newbie/f2p friendly etc
People defending it here doesn't even mention these big problems, yeah so the patch 1.0 problems gets fixed(?), is it better now? Still fucking no
I wholeheartedly agree with you. It's okay that players want to defend a game they enjoy, but as for the problems I mentioned in the video, the only thing I've heard back in the comments is "game alive, and powercreep not as bad" which I think is cope. Myself, my crew, and my friends would not have quit and stayed off the game for this long if they actually fixed the big issues
Everything is "good" Until january 2023 when their server broke and never get fixed lol
They did eventually merge a bunch of the servers together into mega servers, which did help. But to my understanding there were always connection and glitch issues for some players
stop reading and look into the camera. Looks boring and disingenuine
Then how about you make a video and show us how it’s done. You will fail because you have no content
TOF died because it was overly monetized with terrible QOL and reeked of poor performance and handling
