I have always been a golf swing combo guy myself, because you can chain it into the infinite combo by doing Zr (level 1 or 2), X, X, X, then immediately repeat with Zr(level 1), X, X, X (rinse and repeat)... until you run out of opportunity. It is my bread and butter. Over time I have found that it does more damage than the Big Bang combo. On top of that it also allows roll out on any step. There are some nice additions like Impact Crater in this game and the changes with the Power hammer that makes me interested in experimenting more with the Big Bang combo to find some nice change ups to my game though. I'm always torn between using water strike or side smash. You can't combo into golf swing fast when using water strike. Then again. I rarely find myself in situations that I would rather use golf swing combo over big bang combo. But I really never use water strike unless I time it on a roar correctly.
Spinning bludgeon is vulnerable from attacks and roars while airborne, it's fun at first but when you start hunting at higher rank monsters it's pretty annoying that's why i switch to dash breaker (i forgot the exact name) it gives invulnerability while in animation plus if you have 3 charge before the attack it stays after the animation and i can follow up with either brutal bigbang finisher or a side smash-bigbang combo.
You didn’t mention the actual biggest damage combo: Green hammer Directional R3->big golf swing->Big Bang finisher. For whatever reason if you do the green hammer’s spinning R3 into big golf swing, and then keep tapping A, you’ll connect into Big Bang finisher. Getting the position right so all of them connect is difficult though. Messed up and you’ll wish you just did impact crater.

I want to see ur take on the "sling shot hammer" build people r using where u basically only use wirebug moves with the dashing switch move instead of the aerial one, I've tried it out, and it's great fun but I'm still confused on the blue and yellow hammer bits
If you were a hammer master in world you’ll be able to dominate , the best new move is that rushing hammer bug attack. Your invincible while flying through the air . Not the spinning air one the ground line drive one. Hammer bros 4 life
How do you proc the impact crater twice on the down swing? It sometimes happens and sometimes doesn't? Are you meant to move the analog stick when it connects the floor on the 1st hit?
I suck at hammer but I really enjoy it. with dual blades/longsword/bow I can destroy monsters but with the slower weapons I just get clobbered. hope I can improve lol
Wait, why switch to gold charge for crater? From my testing blue is more dmg, so why switch to gold unless you do it at the first charge purely for the instant 3 charge?
Courage mode is basically Valor Hammer from Generations Ultimate. think of it as slightly less damage, but you can do it more frequently since it charges up super fast. The charge only has 1 level but after releasing, if you press ZR again it goes to the next level, and so on until the third most powerful charge. keep pressing ZR then release to attack, ZR then release to attack, rinse and repeat.

Slight correction. You don't need to wait for 2nd charge before switching to yellow.
Switching from blue to yellow will always get you level 3 charge.

I dunno if you see this but i cant make A to X combos work at all, i just reset into first overhead attack again. Im using water strike

Gold is more damage if you line it up right on the head. You get two hits that way. Is one more headshot then blue on the landing
