hey ang bata, is there a way that the radial menu is tied to the equip set or item set ? like iceborne that whem im choosing my build the radial is tied to this ? or have i do it always manually after build choosing ?
@@DaFlowe as far as I can tell it’s set for every load out. I only ever use one circle for each build. That being said I can see how a gunner (I’m still a beginner) would have to use a ton of slots for all the crafting.
Little Tip : Do not use Antidote !! Use Herbal Medicine instead . Faster Animation and you get a small heal . It is easy to make as well ! Get your Blue Mushroom and let Yomogi-chan turn them via Motley Mix into Herbal Medicine. And you get Dango Tickets as well
Thank you for the ammo crafting and radial menu tips! I've been wanting to try out the bowguns but the ammo management has always made me anxious about doing so. I knew it would be easy but I appreciate you going over the basics for players like me!
you can use that basic one for when you want to go out gathering as well. usually i’ll throw bow coatings on the basic one, so i can take the bow out then and not waste my ammo while gathering. or i’ll just stick with normal 1 and shrapnel for the little monsters. nothing more annoying than going out gathering only to realize you brought a full loadout and now you can’t put all your junk anywhere😅
Just for efficiency's sake, craft sticky-3 when your ammo left is an odd number. you can save 1 sticky ammo as the max ammo is only 9 (1 sticky-1 > 2 sticky-3). for example you have 0 sticky-3 left, when you craft all, 5 sticky-1 will be used but will only create 9 sticky-3 (wasting 1 ammo), but if you craft on 1 ammo left, you will only use 4 sticky 1 (no waste).
13:20 For the map thing, In controls setting > -- Controls > turn to type 2 Like that, when you press the - button (Or select for Playstation Pad I think for you Angbata) you will have the map instantly
This is legit the only guide I found that has info on item loadouts and shortcuts you should be using with LBG/HBG. Every other guide focus on just the skill set ups. This has helped me out so much with adding these weapons to my skill set.
As someone who had to figure this shit out the radial menu on their own after carting while looking at the crafting list mid hunt, this would've been a godsend about a week ago lmao
To load the detailed map quickly without using the speed dial, you can go to the Options screen to set "-" Controls to "Type 2", which will let you load the detailed map with the "-" button on your controller.
Great video! Gotta say for anyone considering using gyro controls: Just try it out for a bit. They're really well calibrated and subtle. Use the stick for large adjustments and the gyro for micro-adjustments. People think of 3DS or AR type spinning when you bring up gyro controls, but the truth is, you barely have to move your hands. It's the tiniest adjustment. So yeah. If you're interested, I'd recommend just trying it for a bit, only using it for the small adjustments like if a monster moves his head a tiny bit or you need a slight angle change to get all your pierce ammo through the right hit zones. *Especially* great in Rampages. I completely get not wanting to use them, in which case, continue on doing what works for you; but anybody who played Splatoon at all can tell you that gyro controls aren't some weird waggle-tech "I'm using tilt controls" in Mario Kart type gimmick everyone immediately assumes. It's worth a shot if you're at all curious
Decided to try gunning in monster hunter for the first time and loved it. Had a hard time finding tutorials to up my game until I found your channel. Thanks dawg.
As a person that wants to get into Gunner weapons more in Rise, this is super helpful. Thanks for the guide! Salamat sa guide ni to haha (I'm rusty bleh....)
Good luck, dude! I started getting into Bowgunning in 4U, and really fell in love with it in Gen. I'm still a Hammer main, but LBG has easily become one of my favorite weapons ever since.
Great video, been trying to get into HBG and everything I can find treats me like a pro. Thank you for talking to me like the monster hunter baby that I am
Learned something new with that Radial Menu setting Type 2 combo. That was actually irking me here in Rise while crafting ammo on the fly vs in MHW. Good stuff, thanks!

I find shrapnel gets partbreaks/trips easier, until the monster is downed. Technically, you can use higher level ammos, but the mobility starts hurting, and I feel LBG needs that to maintain constant damage. Congratulations! You are now a member of raw gang! Affinity is not the way! Edited because I forgot ammo.
knew that but still watched the whole thing, thanks. Btw. you can change - (select) in Controls/- Controls to make it that you press it once for the map.
I’m a long time monster hunter fan and have recently found your channel. I love your approach and how you explain things. Definitely subscribing to you, keep up the great content!
Hey thanks I really like guide and guides you make. the only thing I'm on cross with is the ammo button swap. Love being able to move while swapping ammo.
Been HBG main since 3U, and figured it out through trial and error. This is a nice video for those struggling with guns, especially the item loadout and ammo crafting parts. Oh, and you're the most helpful and accurate bowgun channel on TH-cam. Nice work.
LBG main here. GYRO TIP: The default gyro settings are trash but there is setting for gryo to be on during aim mode only (L2). This setting feels fast and fluid and you can always adjust the sensitivity but it's not for everyone. If you're someone who is used to the motion controls like splatoon or botw, then you'll be ok. If not it can take a couple weeks to get used to it.
As a melee user since mh3, after i tried this one. What a brain weapon. And i friggin love it! killing regular monster feel like slaying the small ones lol
Awesome video, dude! Even for someone more accustomed to gunning like me, I do enjoy seeing how others go about their process and setups. I learn best through observation lol ;; But this is great for new gunners! I will say though, I'm not a fan of the Fast settings for the camera and reticles, personally. The normal speeds don't feel slow at all, and I never have much issue keeping up with monsters, and the faster settings just go a bit _too_ fast for my liking. I'm sure I'd get used to them, but they feel a tad unwieldy. But that's just me! I can't deny that a faster reticle would be very nice lol
You may not like the gyro now cuz it's config is "roll". Wait till they implement "Yaw" it's going to be much more comfortable. Splatoon 2 for example had the best gyro as third person shooter. Capable for competitive play
ppl really sleep on motion control, but after learning it for Splatoon i can't go back to shooting without it! i built a custom controller scheme for Steam bc i NEEDED it when switching to PC. it is definitely, definitely worth learning imo
Me who main HBG since MH1 PS2, every time new MH game released: oh look at this, gunning guide for new MH game. Lets watch it. Me after watching the guide: well nice video but nothing new for me, so this is how old player feels
Hai I'am your fan from Mhw.... btw I just finished my HR quest in MH Rise. It seems ok but a bit clunky for me because of the new mechanics. If only I knew from the start that you could change the camera distance it would be a bless lol Thanks for all the bowgun video you made. sorry for my broken english. #mouseandkeyboardonlylol#yourfellowSEAplayer
wow can't believe you called gyro stupid! I sunk hundreds of hours into splatoon2 and gyro comes so naturally, cannot go back to sticks alone. to each their own though, I thought it was weird when I first used it too.
I only like using radial menu type 1 only when crafting ammo. For example, I put craft ammo 1 in left spot and craft ammo 3 in the right spot so I just flick the stick from right to left and it craft it for me. Doesn't need to push at all.
I've been playing mh for God knows how long, just like most of us, and this game I decided to abandon my weeb blood and turn mh into lost planet with lbg. Not disappointed! It's so much fun to play :)
Nice video as always. Got a question tho: Do we use "Craft All" at odd numbers like in World/Iceborne, or are we allowed to craft anmo at any amount we have remaining?
I too turned off camera shake especially for melee because in this game it seems to give off a false impression of hit lag. It also disorientates me sometimes. As for effects it only turns off blood (which I like) and replaces the blood with more blue flashes. Personally I want an option to tone down the effects but keep the blood and yes with gunning especially 4 player pierce 2 there's effects everywhere. I don't know how you feel about it but I think the radial menu's are backwards compared to MHW/Iceborne where they saved on loadout. Now you need to make a entirely separate radial and set them. Feels like more steps for no reason.
There's really no reason not to set L+A/B/X/Y to Action Bar. You're using the D-pad for items, so you may as well have access to the action bar in order to use felvine or call your palamute to ride. Calling a palamute via the action bar is faster and can be done during other actions, like mining, and the felvine is exclusively available via action bar.
Gyro is best if you use the joycons instead of the Pro Controller, especially if you play a lot of Splatoon 2 or played the Wii version of Resident Evil 4.
yep. but i agree with him regarding gyro. cause we play on multiple platforms. there's no gyro for MH World on PC/PS4/Xbox. so it's better to just practice using the analogs for aiming.
