In my latest Simpsons Theory video, I look at the entire timeline of Grampa Simpson. We look at Abe Simpson's entire life story, his past and future. Taking a look at the Simpsons flashback episodes, as well as the future episodes, I've put Grampa's life in chronological order. From season 1 to The Simpsons season 33.
I go into his marriage with Mona Simpson, and his complicated relationship with Homer and Bart Simpson.
We also look at other Simpsons character timelines, like Homer, Marge, Bart, and Lisa. As well as the other Simpsons characters in Springfield.

It never occurred to me before now, but while nearly everyone in Springfield has a beef with Mr. Burns, Abe is the only one that can truly be considered Burns' archnemesis.

Am I the only one who expected this video to be longer than 26 minutes for that reason? I can't wait/hope you do a timeline video for Burnsie. He was apparently born in 1886, so that man's seen and done enough to fill a tome.
HellFish is my favourite episode of all time. Actually shows Abe in a competent light and I love the relationship between him and Bart, where Bart gets on with him better than homer. I know the full episode title but I’m not typing all of that 😂

Considering how nice Abe has been to homer at times it does make homer seem quite mean to him at times, as this person got you a house gave you all his Money and many other things and you constantly ignore him and won’t let him get a kidney from you in his time of need it makes me feel a lot worse for Abe
Well considering that Abe Completely destroyed all sense of relationship that homer had with his mom, and then bassically abused him for homers entire childhood, constantly telling him he was never gonna be anything special and shouldnt even try

In the earlier seasons he was quite mean to him as a child and in the later seasons they started showing him as a caring who loved his son but didn't show it.
@@warmice4136 abe didnt destroy it, he rather protected it actually like if he told homer that mona abandoned them then i think homer would hate mona so telling him she was dead rather saved their relationship
and as for the other things.. yeah, i agree tbh, abe did ruin a lot of things but some of them were to protect homer
homer was a gymnastic and abe ruined that and so that sucked but the one with selling homers dog (not santas little helper; the one homer had in his childhood if you remember) was saving homer since mr. burns hated that dog for biting him and i think selling that dog was what ruined homer and abes relationship but if only homer knew it was just to protect him (T___T)
@@mevan883 He didn't completely destroy it, there have been moments in Homer's childhood that his Father did care for and loved him.
last weeks episode seemed to be a missed opportunity to see how Homer's relationship was with his maternal family the Olsons as well as how Abe was with his in-laws
One of my favorite timelines so far. I always thought many of Apes stories were far out/too good to be true, but that it was just do to him being senile or trying to sound more exciting.
I love watching the episodes when he talks about fighting in WW2, I just love the wackiness.
The real joke behind “As straight as Gomer Pyle” is because the actor for Gomer, Jim Nabors, was a gay man. I just think that’s a clever joke

Grandpa’s BEST line is “ the blue ones keep ya from scream’in”
I like Grandpa Abraham Simpson. He's been established as an army veteran and I love that about him! But I absolutely hate how horribly he has always been treated! My own grandfather is an army veteran and I'd never dream of disrespecting him that way...
Sorry, I know he's a cartoon character but even the idea of someone treating their father so poorly is distasteful to me and all I want to do is express my thanks for their service and sacrifice.

But he was often a bad father to Homer.
As stated he did give homer a hard time so its not all that unreasonable despite some good moments and sacrifices he's done for him

I’ve noticed the Simpson men have been very good drivers at young ages an example of this is when abe dangles keys in front of homer and then he takes the keys and drives off with ease a similar thing occurred with Bart with his skill not popping out until later yet he still showed some favor to cars with his collection
Sometimes Abe stays at the Simpsons home and sometimes at the retirement castle
Grampa talks to Lisa about death:
Grampa: Death stalks you round every corner (points at Maggie and dramatically exclaims): Ahhh! Death!!!
Lisa (sarcastically, not quite sure if there was an eye roll partnering it or not): That’s Maggie, Grampa.
Grampa (chuckles in embarrassment) Oh, right… (a handful of seconds later, this time pointing at Snowball II) Ahh!! Death!
Lisa: Grampa, that’s just the cat.
[camera pans once more to Maggie]
Grampa: Ahhh!!! Death!
Lisa: That was Maggie again, Grampa!
Grandpa Simpson is still a Badass Flying Hellfish and a cool old man! Sure he raised Homer kinda Tough, but it was with love because his wife was on the run. Come to think of it, with the amount of stuff he's done sometimes it makes me wonder if he's Older than Mr. Burns!!!!
Homer would have stayed on the dairy farm if he didn't scare the cows constantly.

Abe is such a good guy. His wife may have left him but he tried to raise Homer as a single father as hard as he can.

As shown with the Van Houten’s and the Nahasapeemapetilon’s heck even the Simpson’s themselves a lot of the time the writes take a very black and white view to conflict. The problem is that either because the way it is initially written or because of stuff added later these conflicts are complicated. The irony being that if the writers just admitted that there is no conflict/both parties are equally in the wrong they would regain that simplicity they want. Something they refuse to do. So retconing things in order to ignore everything after Mother Simpson is the only option they’ve given for themselves. But while this doesn’t necessarily add anymore the problem, it doesn’t actually solve it.
You forgot to mention how he wore an onion on his belt, which was the style at the time
Make a "Strangling" timeline ? Homer's grand-grand-grand parrents are shown to to strangle their kids, while it's shown Homer strangling Abe, his own father
I love that music is a generational thing with the simpsons.
Abe, with his whistiling, and his song writing/piano playing with Rita.
Homer, with him being in church choir, a grunge band, and the barbershop quartet.
And then Lisa with her love of jazz, and her saxophone.
I’ve been waiting for this one. Grandpa has such a complicated timeline it’s very hard to keep track of 😂

13:13 Wait a second, I now realized that Ape has 3 kids: Herb, Homer Abby and Homer has 3 kids too: Bart, Lisa and Maggie (I don't think Hugo counts, because he is not Cannon, but It would be fun If he was cannon 😔), Even Bart kids + Lisa's kids =3. It some sort of a pattern of 3 kids.
Maggie also has a kid, the creatively named Maggie Jr.

My head canon on the new Mona retcon episode is the memory is suppressed again due to trauma (choking) or just more verbal abuse from Abe to Homer.
I can listen to Abe's stories it sounds fascinating and everything like I will listen to my grandpa and my grandmother's stories when they were younger

@@TheSimpsonsTheory you look at all the episodes set in the future it's not homer Bart goes running to when he needs a pep talk, it's Abe, yes grandpa Simpson may not make a lick of sense sometimes but he can snap out of it as soon as Bart needs him! Look who helped Bart raise the resistance against Nelson way back when.
